"We ordered a firepit which arrived without one of the necessary screws. Contacted them three times to ask them to send the missing part. They sent a package of parts. None of them was a screw. Wrote back and called and they sent a screw. Unfortunately not the one needed to put the pit together. We are now in the process of asking them to try again. Don't order here. They can't even figure out the most rudimentary mistakes. "
"I learned of Woodland Direct from my neighbor. I reviewed the website and found the fireplace damper I was looking for. The price was good and the shipping timeframe seemed very reasonable. Therefore, I ordered the products I needed, which was a very easy process. I received confirmation of my order right away. I was very pleased to receive both items within 4 days of ordering them.

"I ordered (2) 28" Cast Iron Basket Fireplace Grates
Item#:1311001) from Woodland Direct, since they were the only online retailer I found that carried the 28" cast iron grate I was looking for. It seems as though the 28" heavy cast iron is being phased out for the 27". The product being offered by Woodland Direct appeared to be the same as I purchased in previous years from Northline Express, another online dealer. The price was comparable.
Upon receiving the 2 grates a few moments ago, the quality of one of the grates is far below what I expected! The cast iron is dimpled, pocked, and bubbled. The manner in which the 2 grates were packaged was very sub-standard in my opinion. They used 4 boxes taped together by clear packing tape to contain 70lbs. of heavy duty cast iron. The boxes were coming open and barely holding together when FedEx delivered it. It is a good thing the items were cast iron, if not, the way they were packaged certainly would not have kept the items from being damaged."

"I ordered samples for a outdoor fireplace. I told them that I wanted samples of all their colors, due to that I'm colored blind. I informed them that I was going to get help to choose the correct color. I placed my order and only received 3 samples. I called and inquired about the other samples and was told that for another $10.00 I would received additional samples. I feeled like I'm being nickled and dimed.
I was told that I would be contacted and that the samples would be shipped, a week later, still no word. What is with this company?"
"I am posting a review of my experience so far, and I am really hoping that I can repost another review later that is more positive than how I feel about this company so far. On June 26th, I ordered an Orion Copper Fire Dome ($499) and a Weather Ready fire pit cover ($39), both of which showed as being in stock. My credit card was charged for the full amount. I then received the fire pit cover only. On Thursday, July 7th, I spoke with a Woodland CSR (Jason) who was very friendly, he put me on hold to look into my order and when he returned, not only did he tell me that they were out of stock, and awaiting a new shipment from which they would ship my order, he also told me that the product changed. Had I not called, when would I have been notified that they were out of stock and the product changed? Jason told me that if I would still take the product, even though there was a slight change to the base, that they were receiving a shipment in the next day (Friday, July 8th) and they would then turn around and ship my fire pit out to me the same day. I just called Woodland Direct and spoke with another friendly CSR (Yevonne) and she told me that the order did not ship yet because they just received the product today. She said that they will be sending me the fire pit by the end of this week, if not, next week. I told her that I was not happy with they way that this order was going, that I wasn't notified of the item being out of stock, product change....that I had to call to find this out, and I also told her that I was currently looking at resellerratings.com and was concerned because I was reading so many recent posts from people saying the exact same thing, Yevonne said that all she could tell me was that she spoke with the warehouse, that they said end of this week or next week for shipping, and she sees in the system that it's noted that Jason assisted me last week. She said I should receive a tracking number in email, but if I don't have this by mid next week, I can give them a call back to check on the order. I would like the item which is why I am waiting, but in a quick Google search, I'm seeing that I can find it elsewhere. Hoping that I can have this order turn around and be a more pleasant experience and I will happily repost another review. On a side note, since placing this order on 6/26, the Woodlanddirect.com website has shown it maintains current stock, when in fact, it has not. That is really frustrating."
"I ordered a stainless steel burner which said it comes with tumbled glass at the time I ordered, and still does say in the description, "This is a tumbled glass burner" (just copied). When the product arrived it did not include the tumbled glass which the sales rep mentioned and product description mentioned that it would. It included cheap round glass that can be purchased at a craft store, "crystals" I guess. I thought no big deal I'll call customer service and get it worked out, which was not the case at all. They told me there was a product change and that is what is now included. Instead of shipping out a couple pounds of tumbled glass to correct their error they transferred me to sales and tried to sell it to me. I was transferred a total of 3 times and spoke to 4 people, none helpful obviously. I recommend using a company who values their customers more, which is what I will do in the future."
"I ordered a Father's Day gift for my husband on June 9th. The item was a Wisconsin grill mat and it showed in stock - most other websites selling the item showed it was out of stock and I was pleased to see that they had it available. Like other reviewers, that was incorrect information. Interesting business strategy to claim items are in stock when they are not!
Based upon the information provided online, the item should have arrived prior to Father's Day. I received no communication from them indicating a delay and I emailed them asking for a status on the order. They sent a template reply email asking for information already provided in my communication and a few new items. I have received no response from them on the status of the gift.
Given the other reviews I have read, please do not believe what they say on their website and order from other merchants because you will be left empty handed."
