"Bad experience dealing with Working Person Store. I ordered only one pair of boots. Then a few days later I get an email telling me they don't even have these boots and they have to order them, but they should ship out by a date the following week. So I wait a few days after they are supposed to ship to send them a request for the order status. After a few days I finally get an email saying it will ship directly from the manufacturer. I still have yet to find out if they actually shipped, but I have finally been charged for the boots. I can only imagine what the return process is going to be like if I have to send them back."
"I ordered a Carhartt winter jacket for my daughter and less than an hour later got a shipment notification! I was so happy that i called their customer service to thank them, the lady was really nice and told me about another boot sale they had going on so i placed another order for my son for combat boots and a knife for christmas, they both shipped in about a week, not as fast as the first but still very good. I'm pretty happy with the service and the prices."
"This store has the misnomer of "working" and they really do not even come close to that at all. My boots were still on backorder when I called two weeks in and the best the customer "no" service person could tell me was that they would ship out as soon as they came in. I really should have read the reviews first as my experience was so similar to all of the other negative ones posted from the past. All in all, there are so many better companies operating on the web and for ton of hassles that these folks send your way, getting a lower price is just not worth it! "
"Ordered three items on 7/18/10. I received one of the items in about a week or so.
Since then I am repeadedly told 5-7 days on the other items. Today I received an email that the scheduled shipping date would be 9/13/10 for item #2. They didn't mention item #3.
I called them today. Item #3 was in stock and wating to ship with the complete order. The very nice lady offered to ship today with free shipping.
At least they have not charged my card for items not shipped.

"this is my first experience with Working Persons Store...and I must say... "So far, So good"...the sales agent Tammy is responsible for that...she was very helpful and courteous...making my shopping experience a very pleasant one...leaving me with a feeling that I am dealing with a top notch organization...Thank You Tammy...Kenneth Likout"
"The goods do finally arrive, but every experience with The Working Person's Store has been an exercise in patience. Their online order status page (tells you status of line items, total order cost, etc) is completely inaccurate.
Ordered 6 pairs of boots on 12/8/2009. One pair was so badly backordered that they notified me it would be taken off the order; fine. I sent them a price match request on 12/14/2009. It took about a week for the first 2 pairs to be drop shipped from Timberland. The second 2 pairs both arrived around 12/30/2009. The last pair had not shipped when I returned 3 of the 4 pairs on 1/5/2010. On 1/12/2010, I received a price match credit on all 4 pairs of boots (even though 3 have been returned). On 1/16/2010 they acknowledged receipt of the returned boots. As of 1/18/2010, I have still not received credit for the returned boots."
"Unfortunately it looks like I am having the same experience as many others. I ordered several big and tall winter clothing items that were supposedly in stock. Surprise, they are backordered. I received a ship date for the backordered items and it has come and gone. I have two e-mails through their customer service "ticket" system with no responses. I have not been able to talk to a person on the phone after waiting for ten minutes on hold twice.
I should've known that their selection was too good to be true. I also ordered based on their exchange policy. If I need to take advantage of it, it will probably be spring before they get me the winter gear I ordered.
Bottom line, buy from somebody else. They make you think that they carry a tremendous inventory, but they don't. 2/3 of my order was "on backorder" after it showed up as being in stock on the website. All they do is take your money and then have the items drop shipped from the manufacturer.
I would like to add that someone from The Working Person's store did contact me after I posted this. I'm pretty sure as a response to me posting this. They really tried hard to make me happy but in the end I still resent that I was mislead on their inventory status and that I had to complain outside their system to get any response. Have not shopped with them since."
"Our Company had in the past purchased Work Boots from another provider. We seemed to always have issues with no stock available or wrong sizes shipped to us.
As the Office Manager, I could not tolerate such inadequacy from a vendor. So I looked for a vendor that would provide excellent customer service, and quality product.
I found this through WorkingPerson.com. This is my second year in ordering through this Company, and specifically working with Michael Clarkson, who I must say, is the best Customer Service Representative that I have had the pleasure to work with in ordering products.
I have been in the business for over 20 years, and have not come across a Representative as Customer oriented as Michael Clarkson. I would recommend anyone needing to order attire, or boots for their workers, or their personal use, contact Working Person.com, and ask for Michael Clarkson. You will definitely receive the quality service you would expect from a service provider!

"These guys are just awesome! I originally ordered two pair of the same style boots in different sizes because I didn't know which would fit best. The boots came and I picked the best fit then called for a return # to send the pair that didn't fit back. After I got the return # and sent the boots back, I saw a jacket I liked on their site, so I called and asked them to exchange what I had sent back instead for the jacket. The jacket was backordered so I said I would wait for it to come in. They processed the whole order, promptly refunded the difference between the boots and the jacket before I even GOT the backordered item, AND they sent me a small gift with my exchange to make up for my wait. All this and they were very nice and professional the whole time. They kept me in the loop of what was going on with an occasional update email. I kept thinking something was going to get messed up based on past experience with other sellers, but they kept track of everything and kept it all straight. I didn't have to do a thing. This is the standard for what all internet business sites should shoot for. Thanks!"
"This store has issues. The basic problem is what they say they have in stock on their website is either not in stock or discontinued. I ended up wasting over a month with them trying to buy items that they didn't have or couldn't get. They eventually did ship me an item I ordered and the price wasn't bad but if I had it to do all over again I don't think I would go back."
"As a returning customer from Hawaii I ordered 4 pair of jeans and put a comment on the order asking to remove shipping costs since the order qualified for it. I got the order confirmation shipping cost of $ 34.00 still on it. Again I asked asked by email to remove it. My credit card was already charged for the full amount. I got an email saying shipment to Hawaii is expensive and they no longer ship for free. This is true but other businesses will contact me and asked if it is still ok. to ship. I then have at least choice. I received a message that the shipment was on its way and then almost a week later another one saying it was delayed or 2 more weeks. At that time I wrote to cancel the order since it was not shipped yet. To my surprise the next day I received my pants. I decided to just let it go and not order from them again. A few days later I saw on my credit card statement that they charged me the same amount a secont time. When I finally reched somebody from customer service. She figured out that my order was put in twice and said I must have made the mistake of ordering twice. Why didn't I get 2 order confirmations ? I had to wait for UPS to refuse the package. Now to top it off I just found out that they did not reimburse me fo rth ewhole amount. Again they charge me for the shipping for the second order I never made.
I can only warn from this company and sure will never do business with them again

"On October 30, 2008 I placed an order for 114 jackets (CHTC03BLK Carhartt: C03BLK) totaling about $9,000 dollars. Our card has been charged and we still have not received the jackets. I called both Carhartt and Working Person's store for two weeks and did not recieve an answer as to an expected shipment date, why our products have not shipped, or the status of the order. Our credit card was charged a month ago and nothing has come. We have asked them to credit it back and are waiting on an answer. It is also nearly impossiable to reach someone on the Business and Government sales line (1-***-***-****). The response in regards to this matter from upper management at Working Person's Store has been horrible and Carhartt has been unable to tell me anything, except the Working Person's store needs to call and inform me as to what is going on. We placed a large order with them, they billed our credit card for it just after the order and still nothing was shipped. We have cancelled the order with them and want a full refund."
"Ordered a pair of Doc Martens Steel Toe Wellingtons on Aug 28. Site said in-stock at time of order. 2 hours after placing my order, received notice item was OUT OF STOCK and on BACK ORDER. OK fine...I send them 3 e-mails over a week asking for a shipping time estimate. No response for over 2 weeks. Then I get an e-mail saying their computer systems were down and that's why they didn't answer. During this entire time, these same boots were listed as "IN STOCK" on their website in my size (AND THEY STILL ARE as of the time of writing of this review). Funny thing is, I didn't get a shipping update until SEPTEMBER 15, and that e-mail said my estimated shipping time is Sep 25. Great...I'm finally going to get my boots...or so I thought. So then on Sep 26, I get an automated e-mail telling me that my "paypal purchase authorization" has expired. Hmm...that's funny, because in my paypal account there was still about 15 hours left for the authorization, and they told me the boots would ship the day before. Why haven't they already authorized the order? So I call up customer service, and the rep told me they expect the boots to come in within a week or possibly 2 weeks, but that it MAY take longer. So in other words, their shipping estimate was way off, and in reality they have no clue how long the wait will be at this point. And of course the rep blames the Doc Martens factory for the delay, even though I know for a fact several brick & mortar retailers have had these IN STOCK for weeks (but at much higher prices of course). They have some great deals on boots at their site, but if they're always out of stock and take over a month to deliver, what's the point? I'll just wait for a 50% off sale and buy it from Macy's on Black Friday at this point. Needless to say I canceled my order at this point, and won't order from them again.
But at least canceling my order was easy..."
"I'm very discouraged by reading all the negative reviews. I placed an order with this company on 8/12/08. It has been a month since then and I still have not received my merchandise. Since my order was over $59 I took advantage of the free shipping option. The website states that your credit card won't be billed until the item ships but that's a lie. Mine was billed the day after I placed the order. I've sent several emails to their customer service department and received no reply at all. I've tried to call them directly and gotten a message that states (no matter what time of day that I call) that I have called during non-business hours. At this point I'm very frustrated and angry. I've just sent a final email to them requesting immediate resolution to this problem. If I don't receive an answer to my satisfaction I will contact the attorney general's office in my state and also the state that this company does business in. I suggest that those of you who are having the same problem do the same. I will never do business with this company again. "
"I ordered a pair of shoes from WorkingPerson.com and paid with PayPal. I got a confirmation of the order from PayPal, but nothing from Working Person.com. No order number, no invoice number, no nothing. The order form said the shoes would be delivered in 7-14 days. After a week and no confirmation email from Working Person.com, I send an email to the email address given by PayPal on its confirmation message. I received an email back saying I could not use that address and gave another address to use. I forwarded my original message to the new address given. No response. I waited a few more day and send another email. No response. After 14 days and no shoe, I called by telephone. I was told they has sent me two emails and that the shoes were on backorder. They said the shoes would be in within the week. They are correct about the two emails. One was the email saying I was using the wrong address and the other was a sales flyer. I asked why the shoes were out of stock when the web site said they were in stock. I got an excuse. After waiting another week I finally tried a different method of contact. I used the Live Online Support. I tried several times and each time, after waiting a significant amount of time, it would tell me that no operator was available. On the third try, I left them a message to call me. Thirty six hours later, still no phone call. I called again and was told they shoes were still on backorder and were not expected for another 7-14 days. This call was a bright spot because a young lady named Stacy was were kind, courteous, and helpful, however, it was not enough to get me to return to shop there. I asked for my money back. I will never shop here again. The prices are the best I could find and shipping was free, but I would rather pay more and have good customer service."
