"I am so mad at Working Persons Store. The WORST Customer Service and Return Policy I have ever experienced. I returned a pair of work boots for my husband in January because they hurt his feet. Becuase of their return policy (which sucks in today's market), I agreed to an exchange for the other boot my husband ordered at the same time. Every month a get another "new shipment date"! The next shipement date is in June. In the meantime this company has $79.00 of MY MONEY. I called them and was on hold for almost an hour. The girl I spoke to said that she would check my order on 4/23/14 and call me, as we agreed that she would refund the full price of $79.00 to my Credit Card. Well, as I expected... no callback and no credit. THE WORST SERVICE EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY; it the only way they will learn. No wonder AMAZON is #1. "

"In my forty-five years experience in sales training and customer service this is perhaps one of many of the worse stores to purchase items from, on the internet. Basically their customer service department told me in an e-mail response to "Kiss their Asses." I ordered to shirts from them which were advertised as "Full cuts" in 2XL...they were not. I retuned one of the shirts at a $29 cost with shipping charges of $17. They refused to credit me back for the full refund. Save your time and money, this company is worth the extra time in avoiding in doing business with them."

"Awful experience. Avoid at all costs.

Like many other reviewers here, I placed an order for work boots that the company accepted but has never shipped. After I had missed a good local sale for the same shoes, I ultimately got an email (almost a month following the order) saying that the boots were backordered. Now the estimated shipping date is two months after the original order.

Handling things this way is ridiculous. They should have told me at the time of the order that the boots were backordered.

This company is very good at sending spam however. I get something in my email from them every couple of days and each email annoys me more than the last, reminding me what a horrible experience it is to do business with them.

Read the other reviews for many similar experiences. I have given them a one star rating only because the system will not allow me to give zero stars.

"Horrible company to deal with. There is a reason why so many people are complaining about this company. They sent me the wrong gloves and did not send the only thing I really wanted (raincoat). My order was two items and the screwed up half of them. When I called the representative just argued with me the whole time. LISTEN TO ME do not fall for this low price crap!!!!! "

"This was the first time I ordered from Working Person's Store. I ordered a Berne coat and gloves on Sunday night. The website's tracking system updated my order every step of the way from "Item in stock - Picking from Warehouse" to "Preparing Item to Ship" to "Shipped". And then after my item shipped I was provided with a tracking number to follow it on UPS.
I placed my order Sunday night and it was at my door Thursday afternoon.

I just wanted to post this because I've seen a lot of reviews about shipping issues. I wanted to share my positive experience. By the way, this was all under the free shipping deal because I spent over $50.00.

"Deceptive Return Policy
There is a banner on the bottom center of the page stating Free Shipping and Returns" so thought that'd be the case.

Shopped there twice..First Order No problem..Second order 2 pair of shoes.1 once shipped from the manufacturer. It took at least 7 business days.I had to ask for the tracking number.

You have to pay for the return shipping. THE ONLY Reason I shopped at them was to support small-middle sized businesses. Other stores sell items at the very same price with free return policy.

I asked for a complimentary shipping label and I as denied. $15 gone..I should have asked a replacement and refuse the incoming shipment instead I guess.

"Horrible customer service. I wold recommend readind all the reviews before ordering.

My story:
I ordered a pair of work boots and paid for 3 day shipping. I called customer service before ordering and explained that I would need the boots no later than Friday (ordered Monday morning with 3 day shipping) because I would be going out of town for work for 2 months. She not only insured that the boots were in stock she guaranteed that I would have them before I needed to leave out of town. Long story short, I never received a tracking # so I called customer service and was told I would not get my boots until Monday. She was not only rude but treated me like I was just a number she had to deal with. She said and I quote "sorry about your luck. Is there anything else I can do before I have up'.

"I have had a very good experience with this merchant. I placed my 1st order last year for a jacket and ordered the wrong size. I returned it for an exchange and the new one arrived promptly. I just ordered a pair of work boots on Aug. 2 and they are on my doorstep today
on Aug. 7 ! I have no complaints and wouldn't hesitate to make another purchase from this store. Thanks.

"After reading many negative reviews of this shop, I have contacted Customer Support and have made a request whether WPS has 4 items of my sizes. My request was answered within two (!) days. It consist of only one symbol “.” I thought it was a mistake or some technical problem, and contacted “WPS live chat”. Operator Angela answered “I think I responded to your email at one point and stated yes, they were in stock.” When I informed operator that I have got a blank answer with only one symbol “.”, Angela asked me several minutes to check my request.I intentionally inserted in my request several items with sizes which were not available in WPS and asked operator comfirm availabilty of each item. Operator answered after 45 (!) minutes with very common phrase “Everything is in stock”.
I prepared one more question of whether WPS deduct VAT from my purchase if I ask them to send it to Oregon State. The answer of operator shocked me “What is VAT?”
My conclusion: Do not trust this shop, it has very bad customer service, and the risk of loosing time and nerves is high.

"Ordered two pairs of Danner boots from them, and got back an order notice saying they won't ship for 2 months. I'm curious if it's because I used a 10 percent off coupon code, as the Portland Danner factory store says they have plenty in stock. Ended up ordering from Amazon and received them in 2 days. I'll wait to see if I eventually get the two pairs from WPS (admittedly for a good deal) but I'm not going to hold my breath.

In any event, even with drop shipping, there is simply no excuse for these kinds of shenanigans in 2013. WPS should either keep a real inventory, pay suppliers to reserve a certain level of inventory, or just accurately report all current stock and shipping times. They seem to do none of these things, and are thus a pointless middleman between the manufacturers and consumers, rather than an real online retailer.

Oh, and since this happened , I have received *10* e-mails from them saying my item is delayed. Clearly they want me to cancel the order.

"SLOW, SLOW, SLOW shipping!!! I placed my order in February for a pair of Timberland boots for my husband's birthday. The website said they would be shipped February 28. I received an email about a week later stating that they were on back order and would not ship until 3/29. I have waited all month for them to ship so I could surprise my husband with them. Then yesterday I received another email saying that these boots were on back order again until 4/19!!! Seriously??? Over 6 weeks for a pair of boots? Maybe if I had ordered 300 pair of boots the wait would be understandable, but I only ordered 1 pair, and at the time I ordered the website said they were available. I cannot check the status of my order on the website because at the time of my order I checked out as a guest, and did not set up an account. I have to call to find anything out. I have 2 different order numbers emailed to me for the same order, so I never know which one to use to check the status online.

UPDATE After posting this review, I received a call on 4/4 in which the rep said they would take 15 percent off my order total. On 4/17 I quit receiving order status emails. I assumed this meant the order had shipped and I would receive tracking info shortly. I never did! I called customer service on 4/22 to find out what was going on. They had been unable to process the credit card payment but never informed me. Why ask for customer email addresses if the company won't communicate order issues? I made the payment over the phone and was told the order would ship right away. A week later I still had no tracking number or order status update. I called customer service again, and they informed me the order had been put on back order AGAIN UNTIL MAY 17. There was never an email sent to me or a phone call made and the rep that processed the payment never said it was on back order again. I PLACED THIS ORDER IN FEBRUARY, AND DUE TO LACK OF FOLLOW UP AND COMMUNICATION IT WILL BE MAY BEFORE I RECEIVE THIS ORDER AND THEY ALREADY HAVE MY MONEY! They do not have a suitable substitute for my order so I have to just wait. It would have been nice if anyone would have let me know what was going on with my order since before the payment was made I received DAILY EMAILS about the pending ship date! I have NEVER dealt with such POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE IN MY LIFE! The reps are all easy enough to deal with but the company has no idea how to handle the retail issues in a professional manner. If I could give them 0 stars, I would. I STRONGLY DISCOURAGE YOU FROM ORDERING FROM THIS STORE. YOU MAY WAIT MONTHS FOR YOU ORDER. THE FRUSTRATION IS NOT WORTH THE FEW DOLLARS YOU SAVE.
