"After I received confirmation of my digital camera order, a sales representative contacted me by phone and tried to talk me into purchasing 100's of dollars in accessories and insurance. When I declined, A & M Photoworld cancelled my order."
"These people are scammers. I asked prior to ordering if the item was in stock and ready to ship. They said yes. After a couple of days I called back and they said that it is on backorder. And they won't get it in for a couple of weeks. I asked him what if I don't get the camera by the time the rebate ends and he said "guess you won't get the rebate". I immediately canceled the order. "
"I've bought many different items on the internet in the past, but this by far has been the worst experience I've had.
To start off I should have known better because the pricing was too good to be true. It all began with me adding the item to my cart, once I saw that there was a shipping charge I canceled my order. A little while later I received an email stating that I would not be charged any shipping fees if ordered and asked to complete my order which I did. The next day I received an email asking to call A & M to verify my order. I called first thing in the morning to verify my order. To my surprise it was a salesperson trying to sell me accessories to my camera. Being half asleep I agreed to several items that doubled my purchased. I should of just cancelled the order right then but I didn't. Oh I forgot to mention that the salesperson now called my order a kit. I finally received my order; the first thing I notice is S.H.I.P fees. Remember how this is supposed to be free of shipping charges. I called A & M and asked about this charge. I was told it was for insurance. I then told them I wanted to send everything back. I was told it would be a 15% restocking charge. I read the small print and it said min 5% restocking fee, shame on me for not reading that small print prior to placing the order. I then said I wanted to send back just the accessories, I was told I couldn’t because it was a kit. Customer service said they'd send me an extra flash card for my trouble. I agreed. After looking at everything I received in my kit I noticed that I had the wrong flash card sent with the camera so I called them back and they asked to return the one that was sent and they would send me one that had twice the memory. At this time I asked them about the Nikon rebate and that I didn't receive the form with the camera, they said they'd fax me one. It took 2 phone calls to finally get it. Once I received the rebate form I noticed that there name was not printed on the form. I called Nikon and they said that A & M is not an authorized Nikon dealer. Once again I called A & M and they said that I'd get the rebate, they said if Nikon rejected it to let them know and they would refund me the money and go to Nikon themselves. I guess time will tell on this. I know most of the problems could have been avoided if I would have just followed my gut and canceled the order in the beginning. All I can say if you order through this company BEWARE!!!!
"
"I would NEVER use this company again. I have never been treated so rotten in my life. I cannot believe they are still in business. When you call and ask for a Manager, they say there aren't any. The same people answer the phones for Sales and Customer Service, and are VERY rude. Save yourself a headache, purchase from another store!"
"DO NOT EVEN WASTE ONE SECOND WITH THIS SELLER. They will advertise the low price on their products. Once you place an order, you will recieve an email telling to call them to verify the order. They will pressure into buying accessories from them with rediculous prices. If you don't buy anything esle besides just wanting the products you placed, they will tell you that it's in some other language and would cost a lot more than the price offered on their site to convert it to the English version. I was trying to buy the Fuji S7000 for the advertised price of $294.00 on their site. Once I called in to verify the order, they tried to pressure me into buying memory card, battery charger, etc..... I told them I didn't want to buy anything else other than the camera, they told me that the camera is in Japanese and it would cost $300 more to convert it to English. Or I can buy the English version for $499. WHAT A WASTE OF MY TIME. If you want to waste your time too then go ahead and place on order with them. As for me, I will go look somewhere else for the camera."
"bad, bad customer service. Impatient, impolite, rude and calls customer bad names!!!!"
"Ordered a camera and paid $35 for overnight shipping. Told them I needed camera for a vacation. 48 hours later and the camera had not even left the warehouse. Told them I'd still buy the camera assuming they'd waive the $35 shipping fee. The told me "that's not going to happen." They were very rude and dishonest. Don't take the chance, don't buy from them!"
"This store is deliberately dishonest. I ordered a Canon Powershot A510 from their website which was listed at $169. After recieving this item, my invoice was for a price of $209. When I called to ask what was going on they went through the whole song and dance about how I had ordered the grey market version, and they "upgraded" it to the US version. This is clearly a regular practice with this company, because when I mentioned that it's against the law to send me something I didn't order and charge me for it, the salesperson started trying to offer me all sorts of freebie's to placate me.
Always, always research your retailer when buying a camera and make sure to ask that you are in fact ordering a US product when you confirm your orders. It was a $40 lesson I had to learn and I'm sure other have lost much more money to this type of dirty sales tactics."
"amphotoworld.com.Very Very Bad website.. I tried to purchase a camcorder and when I called to confirm they made fun of me saying how can the camcorder work without batteries and charger.. "Run and hide from these crooks!!! Here's how they work: You see their add for something much cheaper than the competition. You fall for it by placing the order. They send you an email saying they have a billing question. The real reason they want you to call them is so they can convince you to buy far overpriced accessories by lying to you. The so called, "salesperson" (thug) told me that the battery that comes with a Nikon D100 lasts only 20 minutes, and that I needed to by another one for $170. He also told me that normal flashcard II's do not work with the camera, and sold me one for $400. You end up paying much more in the long run. I tried to cancel my order via the customer support email, but they wrote back saying I had to call them. I called and told them I wanted to cancel the order. They said that they were going to send it to me anyway and would charge me $58 for shipping. If I refused the shipment, they would still charge me for shipping, plus a 15 percent restocking fee. Since my order was about $2,000, that comes to a restocking fee of $300! I tried to answer, but they hung up on me in mid sentence. This should be illegal. If anyone knows who I can report this to, please let me know at ****@****.

"what a joke. didnt process order after payment, make me call customer service and then some fruitloop answers and refuses to let me order w/o ordering an additional battery. argues w/ me about tthe ability to get it cheaper. he kept saying he didnt understand me- didnt understand why i didnt want an extra battery. i hung up and called back with hopes to find a better agent to speak to, and as i was holdong i got an email that my order was cancelled. i will never shop here and i would suggest you pay the 15% fee to shop elsewhere. ****@****"
"THis store give a very attractive price but actually
order the material they either try to sell some more thing with the ordered product or they cancel the order."
"These are crooks. They discourage me from buying their product after I asked too many questions. They sell their camcorders without accesories only to sell those at a high price. Also, told me that the prodcut would take 7-10 weeks to deliver, when I ordered UPS ground. Located in Brooklyn, NY, this store does not publish their physical address. The customer service is about the worse in the country. Stay away from them."
"Same old story: lowest advertised price on Canon A95. Called to confirm the order only to have a high pressure sale for accessories. When I refused the accessories ($80 for 4 AA NiMH batteries!!) informed me the camera was out of stock. Actually told me, "Looks like you've called 4 of our other businesses. It wouldn't be fair to them to fulfill your order." Several companies listed at PriceHead.com are actually one big boiler room! Astonishingly honest appraisal from the salesman re: their dishonest sales tactics. This collection of 4 businesses owes me 2 hours of my life back (thank goodness for the salesman's "honesty" re: the interrelationship of the "separate" businesses! Otherwise, I'd still be working my way down the list!) NY THUGS! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!"
"A&M PhotoWorld is a 2-bit hack operation. Just search their name on google and every single site that comes up is a warning against buying from them. Trust the warnings.
