"I didn't end up ordering from thse people due to lots of negative reviews on your website. I appreciate you site for just such reviews. thanks"
"I thought maybe the comments were just bitter computer programmers letting off steam or maybe I would get lucky and the product would just happen get shipped in 2 days. Well after playing their game, cancelling the order, and losing a few hairs, the comments are not only true but they leave out a very important point.
A&M Photo World doesn't exist.
A&M Photo World is a figment of your imagination.
You must understand this fact. There is no product for the price listed on their website. There is no product. There is no store. If you place an order for a product, you will never recieve it. If you agree to double the price for the "complete package", you have a 50% chance of getting half a package but by then, you're better off shopping at B&H anyways so it might as well not exist.
The address of A&M Photo World changes daily and is always a run down, delapidated building in the slums of New York. Not only is the address fake, but you don't want your personal information stored in a building like that. The rats will steal your credit card number."
"Buyer beware, I suggest you just stay away. After placing order and calling into confirm, they tried to sell me accessories. When I declined, they told me the battery with the camcorder only lasts 20-30 minutes, did not come with and could not be recharged. Then they said my order would arrive in 4 weeks. When I asked whyso long, they responded it was coming from Japan, the manual would be in Japanese, and there would be no American warranty. I would have to pay an additional $150 to get an American package. When I stated the website did not indicate any of this, they got extremely rude, said that I was wrong and asked if I was placing an order or not!!! Obviously I cancelled the order--they didn't care, they didn't want my business. False advertising to bait and switch unsuspecting individuals. BAD BAD BUSINESS"
"NEVER, EVER SHOP THIS STORE. True EVIL. LIARS.
I ordered a Canon Digital Rebel and received an email message to call amphotoworld.com for verification purposes in order to proceed and process my order.
I called and "Paul" said they only wanted to verify my information.
Do you have any questions, he asked
No, thank you. I'll be expecting the camera.
Do you need extra accessories, Paul asked.
No thank you, I said.
But your camera will not work, he said.
Excuse me!!!
You need batteries for the camera to work.
But your website did not say so. OK how much is the battery? I asked.
It will bring your total to $695.
You mean the battery is over $200!!! I'll have to think about this. How about you send me the camera I will find batteries.
I can only send you the Japanese version with Japanese instructions and no US warranty.
You must be kidding, I said
I have 32 internet stores and I know what I am telling you. Paul said
Thanks. Cancel the order. I'll find another store.
"You idiot", he says, "you think you can analyze our prices. You don't know anything. F..k you."
"I am a minister”, I said, "and believe me, for a man with the name Paul, you are a disgrace."
And I hung up.
Believe me you NEVER, EVER, want to deal with this store."

check out the store front on this webpage... tells everything about this "infamous" prooklyn prank company...."
"DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS TOTALLY DISREPUTABLE COMPANY!!!
READ AND BELIEVE THE OTHER POSTINGS ABOT THIS COMPANY!!!
I ordered on-line after speaking with their sales department and confirming that:
The product was a US product with a US warranty
It came with all listed Supplied Accessories on the manufacturer web site.
The next day I receive a call from “JIM: who indicated that while it was a “US product”
The battery charger plug would not work in the US and that I needed to buy one that would work for only
$49.
“JIM‘S” manager “BRAD” (who incidentally does not report to anyone) supported the this scam.
I cancelled the order and alerted the credit card company of this fraud.
I will also report to the Attorney generals office of NY and PA their nefarious practices.
Any sales web site should, if they have any regard for fairness and ethics, refuse to deal with these thieves!
READ, BELIEVE, IT WILL HAPPEN TO YOU!!!!!

"They had a price for a camera listed on their web page, and a total for the same amount printed on the invoice that was emailed to me. Then another email came that asked me to call for verification and when I did, they tried to tell me that I had to purchase additional equipment which would have doubled the total cost. They flat out refused to sell me the item as posted on the web page. If I had the time or the money I'd sue them for false advertising."
"If anyone deserves a negative rating, it's these guys. After I explicitly told them not to give me their "package" they did so anyways and charged me above what they told me it would cost when they were trying to sell me on it. I called them and told them I had not ordered the package. I was willing to send back just the "package" pieces (at my expense) for a credit of the difference between the camera and the package but keep the camera. I was told I was lying about not agreeing to the package and that I had to send the whole thing back. The "customer service" rep was beyond rude and probably one step away from using profanity. I kept my cool and asked basic questions and he continued to escalate his voice and basically tell me how stupid I was. This person would have driven Mother Teresa to punch him out. STAY AWAY! I CAN'T STRESS THIS ENOUGH!! I WISH I HAD SEEN THESE REVIEWS BEFORE ORDERING FROM THEM!!!"
"Placed an order for a Nikon d-70 at an outrageous price. As you have probably been told before, if it seems too good to be true it probably is. A&M sells greymarket equipment, that's how they sell for so cheap. I ordered this camera online, the next day I get the infamous "call customer service" e-mail. Lo and behold, the operator tried to sell us the battery and charger for a camera kit that is supposed to contain a battery and a charger. After further investigation and 4 or 5 frustrating calls later, I asked an operator weather the camera had the full Nikon Man. warranty. 'Your price didn't include a warranty' he said, 'but all Nikon cameras come w/a man. warranty' I said. 'well then why did you ask me that question' he said. I then asked him to cancel my order. Take my advice, pay the money for a camera from an authorized dealer. You pay more, but the peace of mind is worth it. If you are paying less than 8 or 9 hundred for a d-70, start asking questions. "
"internet store said the camera was in stock then i was sent an email telling me to call them. they had to order it from a supplier and i had to wait 3 to 4 weeks to get it, next day i got another email telling me it was on back order from japan and they wanted me to buy the warranty otherwise it wasnt going to have one. so if i got the camera in broken there was nothing i could do, so i would be out $300
so i canceled the order. and paied more for a US camera with the factory warranty
(minolta z3 @ a&mphoto.com)"
"They use the old bait and switch that car dealers used to use. List one price and then oh by the way if you want a US warranty that will be another $40 dollars. I was told there would be no shipping charges and got the item with $20 dollars added on for handling and insurance."
"One of the worst companies that I had the displeasure of dealing with!
Send me the wrong parts and refused to take them back. They would not sell me part of the order they said it was all or nothing. I send them back and they are charging me a restocking fee.
I will never buy from A & M Photo again!!!

"Scam, Scam, Scam. I fell for the low prices and found that the camera I was interested in did not come with a battery and I could have it added for a low $140.00 extra. After I told the salesdrone "no" and "not interested" he told me I would get it in 6 to 8 weeks !. Even though their website listed it as "in stock". I have never had such a terrible buying experience with any online vendor and I am a big user of online vendors. After I hung up with the salesdrone I was tempted to report their business practices to the BBB but the bad taste of dealing with them made me just want to move on. I would recommend anyone interested in purchasing from them look elsewhere. If you gave them your credit card and they have it on file I would not trust them with the info. Terrible company, period."
"LOOK ELSEWHERE. (1) Bait & switch: Camera advertised at $409 and online order totaled $460 after shipping and taxes. But they called the next day, sold me "special" batteries for an additional $20, and the final billed cost went up to $519! (2) Tried to sell me additional add-ons I didn't need or already had. (3) Overcharged for shipping: $30 for UPS Ground of one camera body and two batteries."
"Yesterday I was shopping for a coolpix 8700 and A&M had a price that could not be beat. I should have known, having gone through what I'm reading in this forum wth Digital Liquidators. The last time, I went through the whole nightmare experience described by everyone regarding A&M. This time I sent an email to both sales and customer service and I replied to my notice by requesting that my order be cancelled--no other commentary. This morning I received the usual email asking me to call customer service to verify. I replied a fourth time to please cancel my order--nothing else. I just got an email from them indicating that my order has been cancelled. I will now check with my credit company to make sure I was not charged.
Thanks to this forum. I only wish that I had read this before I ordered. "
