"By all means stay away from this so called store. I ordered on their web site a Panasonic AG-DVX 100 A Mini DV Camcorder at $1,777.36. Retails at 3800.00 + A&M sent me the following.

After calling this number Gene answered then sent me to a recorded message, I have try 3 times and still the same. A&M says they have to "verify" these people will not give me my order, talk to me. Since when do you have to verify a debit card order. I done this for years at every reputable store around and never had this. I have repeatedly called and emiled them with no answer. My order is not filled, and I stand to loose jobs because of it. A&M is a spin off Digital Liquidators. They have many complain against them thru the BBB. DO NOT USE A&M. This is part of the Brookland NY club with false claims, advertised prices high pressure sales tactics and so on. They do not return your phone calls. And shipping with cost you ten times the norm. PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I would suggest EVS in CA."
"Ordered 2 Lumix cameras. Two different sales reps told me different things. Very confusing. Stories kept changing each time I talked with them so got frustrated and cancelled both orders. Rude reps. Hung up on me when I told them to cancel the orders. Will NEVER place order with them again. "
"I agree with the other comments about this store. I just wanted a camera and had to 1) call to get the order "processed" (yellow flag) 2) On the call after the hard sell line for the overly priced accessories I was told it would take 4 weeks to get the camera. 4-1/2 weeks later I called to check the status of my order. The automated order status checking didn't know about my order. I waited for about 5 minutes on hold waiting for a customer service person. When I was told that the order was on backorder, I decided enough was enough and canceled my order.
Don't buy from this company. I hope they go out of business. The sooner the better."
"Sales agent Charlie was polite on the phone. I mentioned I needed an Olympus C-8080 for overnight delivery. He said the camera was in stock, but the soonest they could get it to me was in 48 hours. That was soon enough. I was fairly pleased...
...and then he started upselling me HARD. Did I want a flashcard at 400% the average price on the internet? Did I want a stunningly overpriced battery? Was I aware this price was only good on overseas models ?
I said "I want to buy the camera but that is all.
The next day I received an email saying the camera was out of stock. I emailed them back saying that Charlie had assured me it was in stock. They said I needed to call to rectify the problem.
Charlie, who was now cold and rude, said the camera wouldn't ship for 2-3 weeks. I asked to speak to a manager. I was transfered to "customer service."
"This is customer service."
"Who am I speaking with?"
"huh?"
"What is your name, sir?"
"It's...uhhhhhhhhh...Smith."
"Okay, what's your real name?"
No answer.
"Can I speak with your supervisor?"
"Sure."
10 minutes of holding goes by.
"This is Customer Service."
"What's your name, sir?"
"It's uhhhh...Steve."
"What kind of game are you guys playing?"
"Well, I thought it was funny when the other guy did it so I thought I'd do the same thing. Pretty funny, huh?"
"Is this customer service?"
"Yup. Whaddya want?"
I hear chuckling in the background. I've been put on speaker phone and they're all sitting around laughing. I was furious. I want some help and they think they're the friggin' Jerky Boys!
This company is criminal. They deserve jail time.
Avoid them at all costs."
"I would not order from this company again. There service sucked: 1) they overcharged me on the bill. 2) They gave me a rough time when I tried to return an item. 3) they were dishonest on their return policy. 4) Their Customer Service reps were very rude and very unprofessional: called me names (greedy, beating around the bush, etc.)5) I had to call multiple times to get my credit issued to me.
Again, I would not buy from them ever again. I did call Fuji to confirm if my warranty on this camera is good, and they did verify that the warranty is good.
they are all scammers and are aided by some big stores in and around NYC to pull their scams. I would be very weary of doing busy with them again.
Save yourself the headache and buy from a registered dealer"
"Well i came across A&MPhotoWorld on the web to order a panasonic Lumix DCM-FZ20 which they had it listed for $419.00 placed the order on sunday,
got an email on monday asking me to call them to confirm. so i called to verify the order and the salessmen tell me that the batteries only last 15 minutes and that i need to upgrade to their "extended" batteries for $99.00 and "quick charger" for $130.00 and i said dont they come with it, they said "yes but it's slow too charging like 9hr" so i said ok to the batteries and i ask when they would ship they said "it's back ordered for 4weeks". So i said well forget the batteries just send the camera than the salesman said "well that would be 6month back order" and i said "What" and he hanged up.
I called them back and final got through to cancel the order. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!"
"I placed an order for a digital camera using the internet. Before they will fill your order, they must talk to you by telephone to coerce you into purchasing high priced accessories. They also tell you that the advertised price is for the overseas product, the USA product costs more. (This is probably a lie to get more money out of you). I told them to send me the camera exactly as ordered without any extras. They said OK. I later checked my order status by telephone and their internet site. Their reply was that the camera is out of stock. Four weeks later the camera is still out of stock. I got fed up, canceled my order, and went to Butterfly Photo. I may have trouble with them too because the camera did not arrive yesterday as promised.
Do not attempt to purchase anything from A&M Photo World. They are swindlers. "
"These guys are a bunch of scammers! DOn't fall into their trap because they offcer cheap prices. What they do is sell you something very cheap, like a camera, but thats it. It doesn't come wiht anything else. Then when you buy it they'll send an email telling you to call them to "confirm" the purchase. What they do there is try to sell you accessories at over-inflated prices. They also tell you that nothing comes with the camera, just the camera itself and that shipping would take 3-4 weeks. Thats what happened to me and after a month I canceled my order. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE LIARS!!!!"
"Avoid this place if you want to save yourself troubles. I can only confirm the experience of the other negative reviewers. I've made two attempts to shop at A&M until I found out they are not even authorized Canon dealer! The good prices they publish are only to lure you to place an order. Here is how it works. You place the order, and then they have you call them to "verify" it at which time they aggressively try to sell you more stuff. Declining the offer to buy any accessories results in the explanation that 1) The product doesn't come with US Warranty which cost extra $$, or 2) Vital for the product use accessories (battery, battery charger, etc) are not included and cost extra $$ (a quick reference to manufacturer's site shows they are included). Their salesman (Brian, a very rude person) would cancel your order immediately unless you agree on the new terms. What probably few people know is that even if you agreed on getting the item as is on condition it is brand new and sealed, they'd tell you they are out of stock and would take 5-6 weeks before they have it thus making you cancel the order yourself."
"These people are the worst. You can hardley get a hold of them on the phone and when you do they put on hold. When I leave messages on their voice mail they never return your call. They won't respond to emails, they tell you to call them (why have email then ?) I wouldn't do business with these people if they were the last camera shop in the world. They advertise cameras that they don't have or say are on backorder for 4-6 weeks. Then I call them back in 12 weeks and they still don't have them. I was quoted a price of $139 and now on their web site the camera is $199. They are the worst, don't do business with them. "
"They way overpriced me for the accessories. It seemed to be some kind of scam. When I priced the items idividually I paid retail. What a rip- off."
"Ordered Casio EX-Z55 on-line as they advertised the most competitive price and shopping search engine gave a good rating. Received confirmation and email to call them inorder to expedite order. I had to call 4 times before I finally got someone and even then they put you on hold. I had emailed them three times in between to proceed with order as long as it was a US model with all mfr supplied accessories & US warranty. There email responses just asked me to call. When I finally got through, they told me camera was out of stock so I cancelled order. Out of stock? Couldn't they have just emailed me or left message on my phone? Or is it out of stock because I didn't want any additional accessories or extended warranty? Not very professional and do not recommend dealing with them."
"Bad experience: they had best prices on the net so I placed an order. Received an email stating I had to call them to complete the order. Called them and tried to sell me accessories at extremely high price (4 times what they really value). Seller was relly rude. Camera was $449 and he was saying was not coming with the battery & charger (lie) and the kit with battery & charger was $759. When I refused to order, they hung up on me and charged my credit card. I called them back right away to cancel the order and said they could not as it was already shipped (impossible after 10 minutes). 3 days later, I received another email saying the item was shipped. I needed to call my credit card company, explain the situation to contest the invoice; I had to call FEDEX to return the package to sender... real mess...
DO NOT BUY FROM THEM! DANGER! FRAUD!"
""If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is" - This saying holds so true for this "company".
Guess it was my own fault, being enticed by the great price. Here's my experience:
I ordered the camcorder on the night of the 8th with the overnight shipping option (all the shipping options were the exact same price). The next morning, I called to confirm everything went through. The guy on the phone said "everything is confirmed, your brand new camcorder will ship out tomorrow"
Then I find ResellerRatings.com. I get scared after reading all these horror stories, so I call them again just to confirm that the right amount was going to be charged:
The guy on the phone is like, "yes you will be charged that amount. But would you like the battery, charger, box and accessories?"
Me - "what do you mean, isn't that already included?"
A&M - "No, only the body. If you want the retail package, it'll cost $500 more"
I'm like, WTF?!
Meanwhile, he's trying to get me off the phone, not letting me speak. About to hang up, he finally says,"you should get your camcorder in 4-5 weeks"
I finally was able to say, "Please just cancel the order."
He hangs up instantly.
I immediately called my cc company to make sure the charge doesn't go through.
Worst shopping experience ever.
Avoid these people!"
"This is a misleading switch and bait organization. I ordered a high end Digital SLR, turns out the camera I ordered was a black market camera with all directions and camera lettering in tiawan, no warranty, and then they try to sell you $2 batteries for $150, I had the exact same problem with infinitety camera, there crooked also."
