"I would NEVER recommend this store. I placed an order with them because of their low prices. Then I had to call a 1-800 # to confirm my order, at which time they tried to sell me everything but the kitchen sink. After 3 months of no delivery, I found out that the camera was backordered. I never received any correspondence. I finally got around to cancelling the order in January; the camera was still on backorder 6 months after I purchased it. Spend the money...buy from a real store!"
"I too wish I'd discovered this site before placing an order with this outfit. I purchased a digital camera and a few days later received a call from Marcus asking me to confirm my billing address and then explaining that I needed to pay an extra $69.99 for a battery because the one supplied would only last for 20 minutes. (I had received an email a couple of days before requesting that I called A&M to confirm the order but I hadn't checked email before they called). I put my order on hold and did some research which is when I discovered resellerratings.com (thank goodness) and called back to cancel the order. I don't know enough about the law but I would have thought A&M Photoworld are breaking the law by withholding the information about the non-standard battery at the time of purchase. I would strongly recommend not to purchase from A&M Photoworld despite the tempting prices."
"STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. I ordered a Canon 20D because of their unreal price of $1079.00. I received an email asking to call them to verify my order. I asked if the camera was new, and did the box include everything from the factory. The salesman snapped "what else would come with it". He then asked if I would like to buy a battery and charger. I asked him that if I went to my local photo store, the camera, battery, software, etc...would be included in the box. He stated that I would have to purchase all of those items seperately, or purchase the standart "kit" for $1499.00, which is the going price for this camera. I asked the person to cancel my order, he responded with "okay", and immediately hung up the phone.
I can say that they did cancel my order without any additional teeth pulling.

"BEWARE! CHECK THE BBB FILES! I bought a Canon Digital Rebel camera at a great price. The salesman sold me a "kit" that included a battery charger, battry, memory card, etc. He said the factory charger took 8 hrs to charge when in fact it only takes 90 mins. He said the kit would save me money but when the invoice arrived it was OUTRAGEOUS! The prices were way too high. Oh, and I did ask for a fax or email detailing the order and I was hung up on. I had no way to verify what I had been charged. The online order detail was not working and the online support team always responded that they could not answer any questions. In short, I was deceived and charged about $600 for about $150 worth of stuff. BEWARE! "
"I wish I had found this website beofre I tried to order a camera from these people. I placed an order for a digital camera on Jan 3 - I rec'vd an email the next day asking me to call their cs number to verify the order. The phone was answered by Marcus and he proceeded to try to sell me additional memory and another battery, which I refused. I was told my order would ship in a day or two. I have since sent 5 emails and called 4 times (having to leave messages on Marcus and Fred's voicemail) with NO response. I finally got an email today telling me I need to call their cs number as the email cs reps don't have access to my information. I actually got a person on the line (Marcus) who transferred me to "Fred's" extention. A man answered and wouldn't even let me explain my situation - just abruptly asked my order number and told me my camera is in shipment from Japan! I asked him why I had recv'd NO contact and he said they emailed me on Jan 6 (I have never seen this email). My next question was why, after leaving voicemail messages and sending several emails, no one responed to tell me they emailed me on Jan 6. He said I must not have checked my email. I tild him that I left HIM 2 messages (thinking he was Fred) and he very abruptly told me his name is Robert. I asked to speak to a manager - and he WAS the manager. No apologies on his end. I couldn't take it so I hung up. I called back to cancel my order and of course, got Fred's voicemail! I have just cancelled my order via email (we'll see how that works). I am also reporting them to the BBB."
"I am the purchasing agent for a boarding high school in Arizona. Due to our rural location, I buy everything online. I have fought with a number of companies, but this one is a peach! Everytime I logged on to check my order, I was told to call Robert on some extension. I spoke with him twice, was told my order had been shipped twice and later found out that I, too, was in backorder h*ll! This was not a small order and usually I can push my way through similar sites because they work on commission and I usually spend $1,000+ each purchase. Not true with them and they've been taken off the entire school's purchasing listing. BEWARE!!!"

"I ordered a digital camera on-line and thought something was funny when I did not receive any e-mail verification. I searched for more info on this company and found this web site. After reading almost all of these comments, I now have a very good understanding of how these low price outfits operate.
Five days later, they called to “confirm” the order and I was prepared. I told them I no longer needed the camera and please cancel my order. They politely said OK and that was that.
I ordered the camera from a legit site for about $60 more. Seven days later, I received the camera and all accessories with out a single phone call.

"This company is a huge RIP OFF!!! I have never dealt with such arrogant individuals. Especially one particular salesman whom I happen to speak with 4 out of the 5 times I called, which were at various time of the day and on different days of the week. The company doesn't provide the man. war. either, which seems very odd. I am still in the process of trying to get my order cancelled. When I initially ordered my camera I was told that it was in stock, so I payed extra shipping to have the camera shipped in time for a Christmas gift for my wife. When I called two weeks later to see where my camera was (they don't give you a tracking number) I was told the camera had been backordered and would arrive 2 weeks later. No phone call or e-mail notice either. So much for Christmas. When I called again 2 weeks later. I was told the camera was still back ordered and would be 3-4 weeks.
You do not want to use this company. Customer service is horrible, they do not keep their end of the bargin, everything is super shady, no man. warr., they try to sell you a bunch of other items, and the list goes on and on. STAY AWAY!!! A company like this does not need to be in business. Do not get screwed like I and so many other have. "
"After placing an order for a Sony Camera that was advertised as "in stock" on AM Photo's website, at what I thought was a good price, I received a "backordered" email.
Contacting this company by phone and getting a "human being" is not that easy. After finally getting through to someone to question the backorder as well as when I might expect shipment, I had the displeasure of speaking with one of the "rudest" people I've every encounterd, who asked me why I insist on "wasting their time" if I recieved and email regarding the "backorder", I was further informed that the item I ordered was a "Camera Body" only and not the retail kit containing batteries, etc., etc.
No where on their website ad, did it mention or make this information available. I'd say it's almost bordering on fraud! Check for yourself:

Order was Cancelled and placed with CentralDigital. Camera was received in less than a week in the "Retail Kit", containing all the accessories AM Photoworld wanted to charge me extra for, including the US Warranty. AM Photoworld said the warranty was extra. AM Photoworld is a Big RIP OFF. Read the reviews here and be warned."
"I ordered a home theater system from them since they had a very low price. However, the order wasn't processed until 4 days later. Then I talked to customer service, and they said they would ship the product that night. Now, 10 days after I initially placed the order, they still have yet to ship it. I talked to a salesman last night, and he flat out lied to me--he said the order had already shipped, which went against what their own records and my own credit card company's records (the card hadn't been charged yet). It takes a great deal of time just to talk to someone--I've had two calls that were never returned, and it took them 2 business days to return an e-mail.
I will never recommend this site to anyone, and I am filing an official complaint to the New York Better Business Bureau (http://www.newyork.bbb.org/)."
"I recently purchased two cameras from these folks. Both were the DX7590. I got a good price but did get the hype about the US model, battery and warranty. I still got the cameras at a very competitive price but my complaint is that the dealer is deceptive. They advertise one price and start offering more. I don't know if they will sell at their advertised price, some say they come back and say it is not in stock. I would not recommend doing business with them due to their practices. Would go on up price scale to a straight forward dealer. I guess bate and switch is their specialty but beware of them. I didn't loose any money and got a credit back once I called their hand on my gray camera. Camera is the same just not the US market package."

"I did a lot of digtal camera research and AMPhotoworld had the best price. I called my order in. The salesperson was very pleasant, knowledgeable and helpful. He gave me his ex # said if I had any problems or questions call him. I ordered on 1/11/05 and it came from NY to South Jersey in two days. "
"I don't trust this place. I just did a price search and 3 companies had prices way lower than anyone else. I had the order with digital liquidators and canceled it because they lied about having the camera in stock. This place said they had it in stock on line. I called and the sales person said it was in stock. I placed the order and said I wanted to know if it was in stock because I had pulled the order from another company. He said "let me check the warehouse" and said "it is not in stock, it will be a week." I asked him why was it in stock before I ordered by now all the sudden it was not. He said, "I can't answer that." Everything about the way this place operates is just like the place I pulled my order from. I don't trust them. I will pay more to get it from a trustworthy place. I will check before I order this time.
