"OMFG. I really wish that I had researched before I bought from these a**holes. They sent the wrong flash (invoice showed the correct flash, they sent the next model down - a $80 difference, at least). Their Customer Service hours are listed as one thing on their website, the recorded message on their VM says something else, and they are CLOSED at 2:00pm on a Friday, which is before ANY of the posted/recorded business hours say that they are supposed to be closed. I did manage to get them at 1:00pm and got forwarded to a VM. I called back, and got put on hold... and disconnected. I called back again, and was able to explain to someone what had happened, and got forwarded to a VM. I called back AGAIN.... and so on and so forth.

BUYER BEWARE, these morons are out to shave your head and mackerel smack you.

"God how I wish I had found this site before I ordered! (I won't be as stupid again.)

Again, fantastic price on the camera. Then the email comes back to me saying there is a problem with my order. When I phone, there is no problem but the sales guy gets me to buy a more expensive memory card, then says I need batteries, then a case, then he says I need an extended warranty because the mfg only gives 90 days, then he tells me there is a kit with all of this for $549 and it comes with a tripod and extras. Foolishly I agreed.

When the kit arrives, the "tripod" is about 4 inches tall and matches NOTHING listed on their web site as a tripod. No extended warranty card. The "Deluxe" case was listed on the invoice as Medium Case and again I could not locate it on their web site. The lens cleaner kit extra was a few q-tips and alcohol ... I have ordered a lot of mail order but have never felt ripped off before.

Now the story begins -- my wife calls and after 15 minutes actually gets someone to talk to her. He told her she couldn't return it because the cardholder wasn't talking to him. My Wife and I have the exact same credit card down to the number. When I called over 7 times over 3 days, I could never get through to Andy and he never returned my calls.

I finally asked to talk to someone who was not ANDY, and after being transferred 3 times got someone.

I wanted to keep the camera that I had opened, and return everything else that I had not, per their 21 day satisfaction guarantee and a 5% restocking fee. He said that I could only return it as a kit since I had bought it that way, and since I had opened the camera, there would be a 15% restocking fee because they would take a hit when they re-sold the camera as refurbished. I asked him to sell me the camera for $299, but that didn't seem to fly with him. Neither did the comment that none of the rest of the kit was Cannon equipment. He told me I wasn't promised Cannon equipment.

After I mentioned writing my credit card company, the BBB, and the Attorney Generals of both states, he did say he would send me a 60 inch tripod and a 3 year extended warranty (he said that the mfg gave a 1 year warranty), obviously contradicting what the original salesman said.

PLEASE NEVER BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. If you have any ideas of what we can do as a group to put this company out of business, let me know at ****@****

I really don't understand it though, the most profit they could have made from me was $100, and with all the calls on their phones, and their customer service reps to handle me, they had to lose most of that. I guess enough other people just let it slide.

"I am a picture taker. I am interseted in all cameras. I ordered the Sony Mavica MVC-CD500 megapixal/4x digital zoom Digital camera. The print out with the specs of the camera, showed that it included the battery, warrenty, charger, and cleaning cloth. I sent the order on Jan 7, 2005-Fri evening at 5:13pm-central time. On Mon Jan 10, 2005, I received a call from Chuck at ext 739. He said he called to confirm my order. The camera was listed at $419.00 and shipping was $17.76.(Total $436.76.) Chuck told me that all of these items were not included in the box. I had to pay more for these. The 2 hr battery was $49.00 and the 4 hr was $89.00. So for $524.99 I would get the 2hr& 4hr battery, 1 year warrenty, the charger and the cleaning cloth. This was a rip off. They removed items from the box to charge extra to get them. He was rude, and said I would not find this camera with all items for this price. I would have to pay more. I told him to cancel my order. I would look some where else.I would never buy from this site ever again. You can't trust them. My son checked on the internet, for this camera. We found one with all the specs for $405.00 plus $6.59 shipping. We called and talked to Mike ext 101. He said all items were included."

""Danger, Danger!!", as one show would call it. I tried purchasing from A&M but they tried (arrogantly) to sell me a battery for the camera. The website did not state no battery. I called Kodak and verified that they do supply batteries w/ the camera. I stated no thanks, then later received an email stating that my order will be 2-8 weeks on back order. What a coincidence. Then, I saw the camera listed on their website $10 less and call to see if they had it in stock. The guy said yes. So fill my order, but why should I do business with liars. And now they have my credit card information."

"BEWARE...DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. I called to inquire about a price of the Fuji Film F700. The salesman that I spoke to told me the price was as stated on the website. I told him the camera was priced at $219 on the everyprice.com website. He exclaimed that the price on the site was incorrect it was $249. I asked for the price for shipping and he said $29.99. I told him that was awfully expensive to ship a camera that takes a week to get, so I said fine. I felt like I was getting a great deal because most companies sold it for $100 more. He took my credit card information and when I asked for a total he said $299.99. I asked how it could be, my total is only $278.99 and he told me it was an extra $30 to get a US model. That was not stated on the website. I called 5 minutes later to cancel the order and was told by him I could not because it had already been shipped. I told him that was impossible because I had just ordered it 5 minutes ago. The next day I called to speak to a supervisor and was on hold for 15 minutes. The supervisor finally answered and told me I could cancel the order because it had not shipped yet. The salesperson had to cancel it though. Once again, I spoke to this guy and he told me the same thing again! I sent two complaint emails about this and no one ever responded. Later that evening one of the reps told me that all of the F700's were set to Japanese and they were not shipping out any. I asked if I could cancel the order and he told me yes and the pending charges would fall off after a couple of days. What a headache this has been! I will never make a purchase with this company again and would advise anyone else that's thinking about purchasing not to!! "

"This is not a reputable company. I would not recommend doing business with them. I purchased a sony digital camera and under water case from them. The camera was short the 32mb memory stick and the underwater case was not the correct case although they insisted it would fit the camera. It doesn't!!!! I found out the case they sold me was for a cybershot t-1 not the t-3 which I purchased. When I called them about the situation the sales person hung up on me. When I called customer service several times they did not respond. When I emailed them explaining the problem they did not reply. I wanted the camera and case for my diving vacation in Costa Rica. Now I don't have any underwater pictures of my once in a lifetime trip. I am very disappointed in this company and my decision to deal with them. I don't want anyone else to make the same mistake!!!

"The prices were almost too good to be true on their website... wish I read the review first!! On the confirmation email, it had a link to some very unusual and peculiar terms and conditions of sale, where they point out that many of the products they sell are IMPORTS and not the standard US version of the product. When I called customer service, they kept trying to upsell me and further advised me that the US version (with all the standard accessories) would be an additional $225!! Talk about bait and switch! At one point in the conversation, it sounded like they were giving me the US version for the same price, but then when going over the total amount they had added the additional price! Furthermore, the male I spoke with was absolutely RUDE, saying to come back when I was serious about making a purchase!

I cannot emphasize enough what other people have written... STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS!!!!!!!!

"This store has a good scam going. I tried to order a Minolta 7D from them before Christmas, because of the price. They quoted me one thing on the phone, and when I called back the next day to confirm price and get the tracking number they had bumped the price on me for the "USA" package, even though they had quoted me otherwise on the phone. I immendiatly canceled the order but they later called back and said that it had already been sent out. Once I received the tracking number in email, I checked and it was picked up by UPS over 8 hours after I had tried to cancel the order.
But on the good side. The Shipping companies are very good about stuff like this. You can "refuse" any delivery and it goes back to the sender at their expense and you get a full refund!!! :-) Just DON'T open the box. If you open the box, shipping is on you and you'll get stuck with the any restocking fees.

"Well, what can I say that has not been said.

I thought excellent price so I ordered a camera online (Panasonic DMC-FX5) $209 WOW! Of course like everyone else I received an email so that I would call and confirm. So, I did they tried to tell me it came with a 1/2 hour battery do I want one that will last 2 or 4 hours for only $90.00 more I declined; they tried to sell me the "US warranty", I declined. The guy said he would put the order through.
I waited 3 days and checked my status online "backordered" I called back and found out that the camera I ordered was an import and I had to wait 4-6 weeks for delivery. The guy told me I could have the US version right away for only $110 more WHAT??? I cancelled the order.

The search was on again and found the camera at "Broadway photo" for $10.00 more I ordered it and wouldn't you know I got an email to call and confirm!! I called and got the same dance.

I got a bit suspicious and checked google groups for any relation and what I found out is that "&M photo" is also "Broadway photo" and also "Digital Liquidators"

"BAIT and SWITCH! or buyer beware? Buyer be very aware. This is not your standard online retailer. They sell peculiar versions of products that may be fine but more than likely are other than what you would expect. After placing the initial order a email arrives stating that the order cannot be completed until their toll-free number is called. Once called, they proceed to sell wonderful sounding accessories at highly marked up prices. $50 for a 3x5-inch nylon camera bag...c'mon! After much haggling, I completed my order and despite several requests to the salesperson and to *Customer Service* never received an Order Confirmation email. Rather, the order arrived with the wrong accessories and no record of what the sale was supposed to have been. *Customer Service* is an infinite phone loop from one salesperson to the next. Note that despite asking for Customer Service each and every transfer, a CS rep never appeared on the call. Fortunately, my records were in pretty good shape regarding the details of the order and they finally acquiesced and sent the missing items from the order without additional charge. Oh, and ask about shipping charges. They're making lots of money on those shipping charges."

"For anyone thinking that you can "luck out" and actually get a good deal from these people, think again. Here's is my experience, briefly.

I ordered the Sony DSC-T3 black online, and received the confirmation email telling me to call to confirm. When I called, I got the normal "Do you have any questions about the camera spiel." I said no, and then was proceeded to be given the upsell speech. Okay, fine. I listened. He said that it comes with a battery that only lasts 20 min, and didn't I want a better one? No. Of course it doesnt' actually come w/ such a puny battery. And so on and so forth. And we went through some other things, like extended warranty through the store, etc.

But keep in mind that he DID say that it came with a battery.

When I called back a few days later to confirm what I was getting, I was told that the $309 price was for an international version that didn't come w/ a battery or charger, and that I had to pay $399 for the full version. First of all, I'm pretty sure Sony doesn't have versions of their cameras that they sell like this, and even if they did, I was specifically told that I would be getting a battery.

So I asked him for the address to the store, and he got all defensive. "Why do you need that?" I told him I needed to know where to have my attorney send notce." His response: "You know what, sir? You're going to spend more money having your attorney sue us than the camera is worth. You should just forget about it. Oh, but I'm sure you have lots of money." Then he gives me an address, which 337 E 89th St, Brooklyn, NY 11236. This is the address listed for Broadway Photo. Not sure what the affiliation is there, or if the guy just flat-out lied.

So, there you have it. Don't even think about buying from these guys. I went in armed, and they flat-out lied to me.

I ended up calling right back and cancelling the order, which the guy could do right away, and I had the confirmation email in seconds. That was the only thing A&M Photo World delivered on. My cancellation!
