"I ordered a hat online for family pictures and it arrived with 7 spots on it, that were permanent. I called customer service and spoke with a woman named Cyndi, she was friendly the first time we spoke and said she would send me a label to ship it back. I thought about it for a while and didn't want to be inconvenienced by returning the item so I called back and requested a discounted rate to just keep the hat. This time I spoke with a younger sounding girl who was rude upon answering picking up the phone. I didn't take it personally because she just sounded like she was miserable from the beginning but she remained snotty throughout our conversation. She took down my number and said she would speak with her supervisor about my request and call me back. I never received a call back. The next day I followed up again and spoke with Cyndi again. Cyndi said they could not offer a discounted rate and that I needed to send the hat back. I advised I was frustrated I didn't hear back like I was promised and then Cyndi advised that her tracking notes showed that her supervisor spoke with me and offered me 10% off. This never happened and Cyndi got really snotty about it! I told her I never spoke to anyone about a 10% discount and she argued "well that's what the notes say!".. okay fair enough, but your notes are lying and secondly, it is insulting that the company would think SEVEN spots on a hat only warrants a TEN PERCENT discount! The hat looks horrible. I never write reviews but the customer service with this company was unbelievable. I understand that it is out of the employees control whether or not they can discount the hat, but both employees were EXTREMELY rude despite me approaching the situation calm and respectful. "
"I ordered a pair of Justin full quill ostrich boots, they arrived in an Ariat box and looked as if they were in a display window for months, the way they were dried out. I called and they told me they had been floor model boots. For the price I paid I can overlook that. I can overlook the box as well, but when they screwed me out of a belt that I also ordered..F ..Cavenders If you want good customer service, as well as the product you ordered shop elsewhere. WHO ships Justin Boots in an Ariat box? eBay home sellers, thats who..Cheap Charlie outfit in my opinion.."
"I ordered a pair of boots online, received a confirmation via email just to get a cancellation notice the next morning because apparently they no longer had the boots. I decided to find another pair on the website, ordered, received another confirmation email just to receive another cancellation email 2 days later because they no longer had this pair that they were selling on the website as well. Meanwhile, I haven’t received my funds back into my account yet. I called to speak to customer service and the lady was so nonchalant and arrogant about that entire situation! Horrible way to run business, this is my first experience trying to order from the store online, will not ever order from them again !"
"UPS would not accept the return label that Cavender's indicated we were to use. I called Cavender's, and they are refusing to refund my $8.99 for the return. I have now paid over $25 for my return. Done with Cavender's!
"
"I have shopped at Cavenders before, so I assumed shopping online would be the same thing. I actually have 2 pairs of boots from Cavenders that I have had for13 years, and the only thing that has worn out is the tread on the bottom of them. I have worn those boots while working at a job where I was on my feet all day.
I bought a pair of boots from Cavenders.com. I now work in an office at a desk. After 2 months the boots began to peel, and the sole came away from the boot. I sent them back, and was told that it is normal wear and tear. The boots are not real leather and they are kids shoes. All of my shoes are kids shoes, even my tennis shoes. I have shoes from the thrift store that I paid $2 for that have lasted longer than those boots. Prior to sending these back I took them to a local boot store, and they agree that the boots were poorly made.
The boots were poorly made. If boots are poorly made admit it and take care of your customer. Do not get shoes from this company."
"What a joke.... They will not return boots after one day of wearing them at work... they expect you to walk around the house on carpet or tile. I don't understand their return policy... Needless to say I called ariat and they happily took care of the issue... all I wanted was a size up in the boot....CAVENDERS Return Policy just lost me as a future customer "
"Cavenders has a $25 off anything over $125, but it excludes Ariat boots as well as other popular items.
I have had several issues with Cavenders and their poor customer service and have thought shopping elsewhere and this just made my decision easier.

"Ordered a pair of Ostrich Boots online, and when they arrived they had been improperly packaged. They had folded up in the much too small box and had heavy creases across the foot. I contacted customer service and went through the exchange process. They assured me it was a rare occurrence and that the next pair would be in perfect shape. WRONG. The second pair arrived in WORSE condition than the first. I contacted customer service again, and they tried to make the same assurances. I will return the boots for a refund and NEVER order from Cavender's again."
"There are never enough cashiers on duty to take care of the people checking out. And they are not apologetic that they NEVER have enough help. They remind me so much of Walgreens. They would rather see you die as to wait on you. "
"went and bought a pair of work boots for &185.00 i understand if someone burs a pair wears them a couple of days decides they dont like them and trys to return them all jacked up why the store wont take them back but i bought these Justin work boots wore them 3 days and the dye was coming off the leather started to crack tried to return them you could clearly see they were defective the manager at the cadavers boots in rock-wall Texas wouldn't even talk to me about anything about how i might return them $185 dollars might not be a lot of money to some people but its a lot to me so i contacted Justin boots with in one day they sent me a return packing slip i sent them back they deemed them defective 3 weeks later they said they were going to ship me a new pair this has been going on since march 4 this is April the 13 still no boots this is bull crap"
"Worst online store ever. Bought one pair of boots got charged for 2, paid 2 day shipping but I'm getting 5 day shipping. I tried to contact them several times but all there said was to give it 24-74 hours for the pending money for the 2ed pair of boots ( witch I did not buy) will drop... Then I contacted them again after the 24-74 hours an said "the amount for the 2ed pair of boots is still pending an the two day shipping I paid for is 5 day shipping an I would like a refund on that as well."..They said "the pending amount should drop out of pending in a few business days (story #2) an they ignored me talking about a refund on the ""2 day shipping"" .. the amount for the 2ed pair of boots (that i didnt buy) went through, charging me 400 something for one pair?!?! . I tried contacting them again today saying "I was Not satisfied with the way anything was handled, and I want a refund on that ""2 day shipping"" also the money for for the boots went through an I want a refund on that" no one has yet to contact me back.."
"I work in oil and gas , ordered 2 pairs of boots from this joke of an outfit waited 4 days and no emails called them and found out my order had been cancelled due to neither pair of boots being in stock or available anymore, they did nothing to try and correct the situation or solve the problem. Due a fellow roughneck a favor and steer clear of these idiots . "
"I ordered a Yeti cooler for a tradeshow giveaway and made all my marketing materials to reflect this. The pricing was exceptional. As I was anticipating delivery to take to my show, my order was cancelled the day before the show. This was bait and switch at its worst. NEVER trust them. This was one of the worst online shopping experiences I have ever had. I am completely disgusted with these people and their sketchy business practices."
"I visited Dallas a couple of weekends ago. Being a Lucchese enthusiast I thought a stop at an original Texas boot/western store was in order. I tried several brands and boots I liked, but one Lucchese kept me coming back. Since the size I wanted wasn't in the store, I ordered it - at only a $30 discount. Following my instore experience, I price checked and found them for an additional $80 less than I had paid. When I got home 2 days later I confirmed the boot size by checking my other pairs. I called the store to let them know I'd take the 9 not the 9.5 and inquired about whether they have a price match policy or at least another discount. The answer was that Cavender's can guarantee the shoes came from Lucchese (as if they have the exclusive relationship) . 4 days later the sales person called to say she had the 9.5 and had just seen my message regarding the 9. So now she had to get the correct size into the store. (If these are coming from another Cavender's store why are then not just shipping from there?). That was a Thursday and I didn't hear back over the weekend. I call this Monday morning (now 9 days after they charged my card) the boots still had not arrived at the store I visited. The gentleman I spoke to said they would be in the store mid-week and they would be shipped immediately. I asked what shipping method. He said ground. I said so wait, another 7-10 days? He said yes. So I wonder....they know I already have 4 pairs of Lucchese from our conversation. They know I've purchased them while traveling. They know I will be back for business. But service and delivery are not at all important to them? Seems like a critical error on their behalf. I will find another store next time I'm in Dallas. Thanks for nothing, which is exactly what I have - minus about $450. I can't rate the product yet."
"FIRST THING !! BUYER BEWARE !!!
I purchased a top for a lady friend, Cost me $27.97 plus
shipping and handling.............................. $8.99
Total cost to my Credit card was................. $36.96
I received the item fine. My lady friend ordered the wrong size.
So I returned the item. They got it just fine.
I used there automated UPS LABEL Set up. cost me $6.99
So here is the story, Cavender's refunded me $20,98
I was expecting to get back........................$29.97
Nope... .... didn't happen... they credit me $20.98 they kept the
$8.99 (thats was the shipping and handling fee)
Well to be honest I read there legal forms and by laws and no where does it state. that the SHIPPING AND HANDLING FEE are not refundable.
So check this out. They kept almost $9.00 and let say they had over a 100,000 returned items due to wrong size or what ever.
they just made a fast $900,000 profit....
This is called scamming the public.
So this is not a trustworthy place to buy,
PLEASE READ THE BY LAWS AND LEGAL SECTION. FOR ANYTHING ON REFUNDS ON SHIPPING AND HANDLING.
NO WERE TO BE FOUND.
I'M NOT BUYING FROM THESE PEOPLE AGAIN. AND NEITHER SHOULD YOU. LESSON LEARNED THE EXPENSIVE WAY.
Boston, Area."
