"Horrible place to buy anything!
1) Took amost 2 weeks to get the camera I ordered, although I am located ~400miles from the warehouse.
2) False advertising. The website specifies taht the camera carries the factory warranty! The camera I got doesn't. I have a warranty card from some suspicious Brooklyn place.
3) Horrible customer service. They act like they are doing me a favor. I am on hold for the past 30 min now.
I will dispute with my CC company and make sure I have the last laugh!"
"I ordered a camcorder on 4/10 online from dbuys.com. They sent me an email 4/13 requesting me to call them. (wasted 3 days) So I called them on 4/14. It was the usual extended warranty, battery stuff. And the gentleman assured me the product will be sent out ASAP.
As of today, 4/22, 12 days after I placed the order, I still don't have the camcorder, no tracking number, my credit card is not charged.
So I call them up, after several transfers, finally a gentleman pick up my call, but not as patient as when I called them the first time. I asked when it took so long, he said because of free shipping. I asked when they will charge my credit card, they said they will charge it when UPS pick up the item. That implied they are lying.
It takes so long because they have no stock. So there is no UPS pick up, so the credit card was not charged.
They said they will send me a tracking number. I really want to cancell this order. This dbuys.com was very good before. But I guess the economic condition has deteriated so much that they are running the wrong way to do business."
"I ordered two Panasonic Projectors that cost almost 5000.00 and was waiting back from DBuys to send us some info on shipping or at least when THEY WERE ARRIVING. I called after a week to find out that my projectors I ordered are OUT OF STOCK! They called their vendor and they were out of stock. Not to mention now the projector has jumped up in cost everywhere at least 300 DOLLARS!!!
I WILL NEVER GIVE THEM MY BUSINESS AGAIN!!!"
"Online Store: ibuydigital.com
The reviews were definitely mixed for this store, but I decided to order anyway since there were several "very satisfied" customers and their price was MUCH better than everyone else's. (except Broadway Photo...LOSERS!) I was praying that I would be one of the very satisfied customers and I certainly was. Wow! I recd the standard email to call and confirm my order. I spoke to Steve who was pleasant and right to the point. I had my defenses up and expected him to try to sell me a bunch of unwanted crap. Well, much to my suprise. He didn't try to sell me anything else. He simply confirmed my name & address and asked me if I had any questions. That was it! I was so surprised. I didn't have to haggle whatsoever. The ground shipping was free and the item arrived in 7 days. The Sony DSC T-700 camera I purchased was recd in perfect condition. It was also very well packaged. Bottom line: I was very pleased Ibuydigital.com and would definitely order from them again. "
"First, they called me at home, instead of at my office during the day, as I specifically told this. This meant that my spouse -- whose gift my order was supposed to be -- had to tell them to stop talking about the order and to call me at work.
Second, it took them ten days to ship an "in stock" item.
Third, it turned out that their listing of the item was fraudulent in the first place. They say, on many pages, "Shop with confidence! All products we carry are factory sealed, complete with all factory supplied accessories, and a full manufacturers USA warranty." But this was not true of this item.
In fact, the item is an import, and therefore does not have a full USA warranty. I know that it is an import without a warranty because it did not come with a warranty card and the power cord was not a USA power cord (i.e. it had the wrong kind of plug).
It is clear that the know which item for which their claim of "full manufacturers USA warranty" is untrue, as some small minority of their item pages do not have this text. For example, newer Nikon camera often lack this, whereas older (i.e. outdated) models do have it.

"I bought a supposedly new Pioneer SC-07 receiver from Ibuydigital on November 13, 2008. I tried to hook it up on December 7 and 8. It was defective in that it could not process HDMI signals (though it has five HDMI in terminals and 2 HDMI out terminals). That it was defective was confirmed online by Pioneer technical support. Ibuydigital refused to accept a return of the defective receiver. Ibuydigital's operator said an announcement on their website (to which buyers are not directed) entitles Ibuydigital to sell defective receivers and refuse to take them back. Pioneer refused to stand behind its product."
"The seller’s name: “ibuydigital.com”
At this seller I had the worst internet shopping experience in my life. I’ve placed an order in 5th of September. I did not get any e-mail, which confirmed my order and payments. Fortunately I’ve print order confirmation right after I placed an order.
When I placed an order I was outside the USA, so my phone was switched off. They called me and left message to call them back to verify my payment info. I’ve send them FOUR emails asking about my order status - NO ONE ANSWER.
Than I called them back and verified my payment info (it was 09/11/08). At 09/15/08 they said me that they will ship me my order “very shortly”. Next day they said me the same. At 09/17/08 they said me that they will ship an order “today at the end of the day”. But even today order is not shipped yet!!!
If you do not want to buy stuff without order receipt, without attention to your needs, without answering on your emails, with holds you on telephone line for more that 15 minutes - DO NOT BUY AT THIS SELLER!

"I can't believe what a horrible experience I had with this retailer. I should have just canceled the order as soon as I got the confirmation email requesting that I call them to "confirm" my order. Of course, the true purpose was to give be an extremely aggressive sales pitch for a ridiculously overpriced accessory, a warranty for a light bulb that cost 50% of the cost of the item itself, and another warranty for the projector I was attempting to purchase. Over the course of the next two weeks, I received no communication at all until one day I found a UPS notice on my front door when I came home from work. That's fine as I'd rather get a notice then find a $2500 projector sitting on my front porch. I contacted UPS so I could pick up my package in person. Within 90 minutes of making this call Central Digital recalled the package. Their only attempt to contact me was to leave a voicemail to "confirm" that I was picking it up, but my this time they had already recalled it, so that was meaningless. The only way I found out about the recall was when I arrived at UPS to pick up the package.
Of course, their customer service is only open until 5pm, so I had to wait until the next day to call them, and they told me they have a policy against people picking up their packages in person. Ridiculous. Then they tried to tell me there would be a restocking fee for the package that I never even laid eyes on. In the end, they agreed to refund the full price, but only after 45 minutes on the phone, and I'm still waiting for the refund to show up on my credit card, so we'll see.
In the end, I have never had such a terrible experience in making a purchase, and have only managed to waste three weeks of my time.
Update: After I posted this review, I got a call from them saying that they refuse to refund the full purchase price because I gave them a bad review. Now I am forced to dispute the charge via my credit card. Completely insane. They basically stole my projector from me."
"Positively the worst online experience I have ever had. I was told one lie after another. "
"Awful experience. Awful experience. Awful experience. Awful experience."
"I ordered a Pentax K20D (Mfg Part #: 19381) from IbuyDigital in time to qualify for the $100 rebate. The item was listed as having a “factory warranty” and was not indicated as being “gray market”. It was also listed as being “In Stock” and “Usually Ships in 1 to 2 business days”. I was called the following day to “verify my information”, and get the pitch to purchase additional items. I was told the camera was a genuine US product. The item shipped a week after I ordered it, and the part number on the box was 19385. The part number had been covered by 2 stickers and could not be used to apply for the rebate. There was no US warranty card, only a generic card, with no company name on it, to mail in. Given the different part number, and stickers, this was clearly a gray market camera. Since the camera arrived after the rebate expired, and I had only 3 weeks left to submit the paperwork for it, I didn’t bother to try to return the camera, since I knew it would take a month to resolve the issue, if it could even be resolved. I know the agony of trying to return a product to IbuyDigital would not even be worth trying to get the $100 rebate. Bottom line, don’t buy from IbuyDigital."
"After reading reviews, I decided to take a chance on ibuyplasma.com. Their price for the Canon camera I wanted was too good to be true. It turned out that the good price that was advertised was for a "gray" camera. However, they do sell the USA certified version of the same camera. You just have to ask for it. And it comes at a higher price. The higher price was still the best I could find on the internet, or anywere. There was some pressure to buy the gray version and a 3 year extended warranty, but simply stating "no, I want the USA warranty from Canon" was all it took."
"Beware of this store. Ordered a Canon 40D, no response for a couple of days. Then sent me a Grey market camera (no warranty), even though the reciept says USA. They are also very hard to get on the phone (unless you are purchasing) and rude."
"Grey market products! BEWARE!!! I ordered a Canon 40D with the lens but later they sent me an email to confirm the order but when I called they told me that they didn't have it. When I told Jim that the CSR who I talked to before told me that they have it, they Jim answered angry and told me that they had the US version but not the overseas version. When I asked him to clarify, Jim told me in harsh tone of voice that the one I purchased was the camera with overseas warranty not the one with the US warranty. The website didn't specify and the emails I got from the store also don't mention that you're getting a US version or overseas version. Clearly they are trying to sell Grey Market products as US market products. Here's part of the description taken from their website;
"Condition: Brand New, Factory Warranty"
P.S. I wouldn't had ordered the camera if I knew it was Grey Market camera."
