"I had thought that I was very satisfied with my purchase of a Nikon D70s camera from I Buy Digital.
That was, until a couple of weeks ago.
At that time, Nikon informed me that the camera (which I had taken to them for warranty repair) was STOLEN MERCHANDISE.
Nikon has confiscated the camera and has notified the appropriate authorities. I have also filed a police report and my local dept has informed me that the camera was part of a bulk/mass theft.
I have been unable to get a live person by telephone at I Buy Digital since this issue surfaced. At this time, I have had no reply from them to emails, either.

I would suggest that others who are satisfied with your purchase(s) to check your serial numbers with the manufacturer(s) of your purchase(s).
At this time I am not only without the camera but also without the $$ I paid to I Buy Digital - and with no resolution in sight.
UPDATE 06/15/07: Edison NJ police reports that the location of I Buy Digital is now abandoned. "
"We purchased a plasma 50" tv on February 19th. The next day a guy by the name of Michael called my husband and sold him a warranty and upgraded his shipping to 3-5 days. On the 21st of Feb we checked the website for the freight company and it said it was in transit. On the 27th we called dbuys to find out where our shipment was because it still said it was in transit and they said they did not know. On the 6th of March the tv showed up at my door after much calling both dbuys and the frieght company.. The freight driver opened the box and the screen was cracked. The tv was not secure in the box. The base was missing and it looked as though someone has opened it. So, I called dbuys ans was told by the return department to refuse shipment and not to sign anything. When I asked how long it would take to get a replacement he said I do not know and quickly offered to sell me another one. I mentioned that I could not see anyone in their right mind paying another $2400 for a tv and he said that it is what some people do. The tv was returned back to dbuys on 4/11 according to the freight company (we have an email supporting this). Needless to say as of 5/16 we have yet to see a refund. We submitted a dispute with our credit card company the beginning of April to see if we could get some assistance. They have told us since April 11th that the money will be in our account anyday and of course it never shows up. They have lied to us over and over multiple times. The funny thing is we have been calling dbuys for past week now and we keep getting a recording that says to call back during normal business hours. This company has multiples names..So buyer beware...There is absolutely no telling how many people have lost their money to these businesses. I am just greatful that we paid via credit card and not paypal....."
"Upon checking the ratings on Shopping.com and noting they were a "Trusted Merchant" I purchased online a Canon 30D kit from Dbuys.com via Shopping.com on April 12, 2007. I received an instant order confimation from Paypal and Dbuys. I figured all was good.
To my dismay I found this sight the following day horrified to see the comments regarding this company. In addition though Shopping.com gives them high ratings I actually looked at the user reviews and found many disgruntled customers as well. I went through the entire weekend preparing myself for what seemed an inevitable showdown with Dbuys on Monday.
Monday arrived and I called the company for a shipping status. Customer service seemed straight-forward and informed me that the order should ship that day or the next. No upsell...no nothing...just a conformation of what I had hoped for.
The following evening (Tues) I received a tracking number from FedEx with an estimated delivery of 4 days (Sat home delivery). Saturday I received a well packaged brand new USA model 30D kit with no problems. Not bad from East coast to West coast in 4 days on free shipping.
Been using the camera for a few days and no problems. I trust this sight but as for my experience I couldn't be more pleased with my experience. I would buy from them again."
"THIS IS THE WORST INTERNET SHOPPING EXPERIENCE I'VE HAD! I purchased a Canon SD800IS digital camera. The website stated the item was in stock and ships in 1 to 2 business days. My credit card was charged the next day. 2 weeks later, the camera had not been shipped. I made many unsuccessful attempts to contact the store by phone and email. After 3 weeks of waiting with no response from anyone, I sent an email to cancel my order. My order was shipped 2 days after I made a cancellation request. I refused shipment and returned it to the store. It has been 2 1/2 months and I have not been refunded. I did receive an email stating my credit card will be refunded in the next 2 weeks minus shipping charges both ways and a 5% restocking fee. I placed my order on January 17 and as of today, March 28, I haven't seen a dime. I am having to dispute the charge through my credit card company. BUYER BEWARE!"

"I jumped the gun on this store, and didn't look into the reputation it has before following through with my order. But, for some reason, I did check after placing my order, and was immediately horrified.
On top of that, it took 2 full business days to ship the order, so the first two days were awful. I had horrible thoughts... the whole bit. I got my cmaera (Canon A630) on Friday, and immediately felt relieved. Camera arrived in great condition, full retail, and I paid about 15% less than the next lowest retailer had it listed for.
There was a minor worry when the package arrived. It really could have been packed a little better. The camera retail box was laying in a shipping box, with 2 of the clear plastic air bag pads on top of it. So it was padded on one side, and hard against the shiping carton on the other. What ever happened to bubble wrap and foam peanuts?
Regardless, I love the camera, and as worried as I was, it was all unfounded."
"I ordered something from dbuys.com after a coworker had a pleasant experience there, even though the rating for the combined companies was only 4 something... I have to say that my experience was even better than my coworker's. I didn't expect to have my camera for 2 to 3 more days and it showed up today. I ordered it on a Thursday and received it on Monday. Super fast excellent service.
The camera that I bought had a suggested retail of $649-$699. It ran anywhere from $579 and up. I found it here for $533.00 - Brand new factory sealed with US warranty. Best deal I found anywhere.
They did call me the night of my order, but only to confirm it, since I was having it delivered to a place other than my billing address. He was very pleasant. He asked if I needed a case for my camera. I told him I already had one and he simply said ok, thanked me for my order and that was it!
Upon receiving the package, the Sony Handycam camcorder was factory sealed, and all was just as they promised.
I am keeping these guys in mind for any future purchases that I may have in the digital camera world.
I work for a retail website in the 4x4 world. From experience I can tell you to read these things with a grain of salt and remember that someone with a bad experience can't wait to tell everyone about it, while people with wonderful experiences seldom take the time to fill out these things. Also, much of the time, people who write these bad things on here are often the ones at fault - they may have misunderstood or are just unreasonable altogether. Some are legitimate, but I bet most are exagerated....

"I am 100% satisfied with my experience with IbuyDigital. I ordered a 32" Sharp Aquos LCD HDTV via the website on 2/22/2007 and it was delivered on 2/27/2007. Shipped from NJ to FL. The price was great and I did not have to endure any high-pressure sales pitch to purchase extended warranty or additional accessories. I was contacted by telephone to verify the shipping address. The TV arrived in original manufacturer packaging and is just perfect.
By the way, I also ordered a similar, but different, television for another room from Amazon.com on 2/21/2007 and it has not yet arrived.
Next time I make a purchase like this, I will definitely consider IbuyDigital.

"WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!!
I have gotten the run-around for almost a month on this order, and I feel I have been more than patient with this company!!! I've had to call to follow up on this order three times – I have never received one email follow-up on my order to say it was being delayed or the item was no longer in stock. In addition, most of the time when I've called, I've never been able to get through to customer service and have been redirected to the sales department.
I called this morning to follow-up AGAIN on the above order placed on January 3, 2007, which I have not yet received (but my credit card was sure charged immediately)!! I have NEVER been treated so rudely in my entire life, as I have this morning by a customer service representative who said his name was Jim in the camcorder sales department!!
Initially when I didn't receive the order, I called and talked to a person who said his name was Bill – he advised me that these camcorders were on backorder with Sony and would be sent out mid-January. I said that I would wait, but once again, I never heard back from your company on the order.
Then I called again during the week of the 19th to find out what was going on, and I spoke to a person who said his name was David. He apologized and said that Sony was not sending out the SR60's in the near future, but he offered me an upgrade to the Sony SR80 for about $100 more, plus overnight shipping and an extra battery. I told him that I needed to discuss the price increase with my husband, and I would call back. He said that he would make a note in the order.
So I called today (Monday, January 29) and asked for David and was told that he was not in today, but he would be back tomorrow. So I thought that this representative, Jim, might be able to help me with the order – I had called planning to take David's offer. When I told Jim, he said that he would not be able to include the battery. I got upset but was not rude, because I've had such a run-around for almost a month!! He said that David never made me the offer because the company has such a slim profit margin, and practically accused me of lying. He also told me not to raise my voice. I asked to speak to a supervisor, and he said he wouldn't transfer me to a supervisor.
At that point, I said I would call back the next day and speak to David directly. Jim then said that David was actually no longer with the company (so he lied to me initially when he said that David would be in tomorrow). Then I asked for Bill who Jim said was also not available, and when I got upset – he said that Bill was in the hospital, and when I didn't believe him – he said that I was unsympathetic!!
At this point, I was very upset, and I stated that I wanted to cancel my order. As I was trying to discuss the lack of customer service from the company, as well as my frustration with the situation, it sounded like he wasn't on the phone. I asked if he was still on the line, and he stated that he had put the phone down on his desk while I was speaking and all the employees around him were laughing at my raised voice. That was the last straw!! I hung up!!
I have NEVER been treated so DISRESPECTFULLY in my entire life!! It is clear to me that this company cares nothing about its customers. That being said, I will never buy from them again. I also feel it is my duty to warn other potential customers of their deceptive practices and HORRIBLE customer service!!!"

"After reading a slew of reviews, I selected 2 other merchants to purchase my new Sony LCD TV. Upon calling (I decided to avoid the infamous follow-up call and get it all over at once), neither had the TV in stock only AFTER I declined the extended warrantee, mount and cables. One place conveniently disconnected me after putting me on hold. I called Ibuydigital and inquired about the TV and was told it was in stock and would ship the following Monday or Tuesday since I ordered the day before Thanksgiving. I did get a soft "sell" for other components and declined so expected to get an email canceling my order. I never did receive any email, and the order was billed to my CC. I also didn’t upgrade to anything but took the cheapest ground. The day after I bought, CC dropped the price to almost the same as I paid (tax would have added $170) and I really thought I made a mistake since I expected to wait for the stated 5-10 business days. Not hearing anything, I emailed on Tuesday to inquire about the order. I received an email with the information that day only AFTER I got a tracking number from Fedex ground. I was shocked that the goods were actually shipped Tuesday and the tracking said I would have it by Thursday -This is only 2 days! (I work from home but that day I had meetings out of the house all morning not expecting the TV so soon). Next shock- Fedex calls me at 7:30am Thursday to make sure someone would be home for delivery- apparently they don’t want to hold onto these things at all. I told them I could stay until 9:15 or so and they called me back later to tell me that the driver would try to deliver by 9:00. Walking the dog, the truck pulled up at 9:05. TV was brought into my house. Mind you this is only 2 days since I ordered. The TV box was the original, never opened, with a small ding that didn’t appear to be a problem. No problems whatsoever with unpacking, set-up etc (once I got all the right cables). Shocked again- great HD picture and no problem registering the product. Full one year US warrantee, which I had made certain about when I ordered it. What can I say? The process was completely painless, easy, no hard sell, Fedex rocked and I have a great Sony TV. Now that the TV works great and the seller did everything promised (except for any confirmation email) I would certainly do it all over again. I still am shocked about the fast delivery and the price was at the lower end (not lowest) of the shopping bots. 5 stars from me!!!"
"This store is a total fraud. They advertised the camera I bought as a USA model with USA warranty. Pasted from their site: "Shop with confidence! All products we carry are factory sealed, complete with all factory supplied accessories, and a full manufacturers USA warranty."
Well what they sent me was a gray market camera. I can't even use the camera because it has a European battery charger that I cannot even plug in. After calling Nikon, they confirmed that the serial number is not a U.S.A model and that it will NOT be covered under warranty.
Now after calling Ibuydigital.com, they also refuse to refund my money. They said they would send a USA charger to me and that it would be delivered on Saturday (which was two days ago). Well that hasn't been delivered yet. What a disgusting experience.
Whatever you do, do NOT buy from this store or any of thier affiliates!!!
Update... They would not take the camera back and they also never did send a U.S.A. charger. Had to go to Radio Shack and buy an adapter. I can't believe places like this are allowed to stay in business."
