"In my perception this was my worst experience for the past 2 years. In fact I'm shopping online at least 2-3 times a month with different sellers. This time I spent almost 4 weeks and I still didn't get the right battery. Let me explain everything from the beginning. On thursday morning I ordered a Sony SR12 camcoder and an accessory kit. While checking out I was promised that all items are in stock and will be shipped in 24-48 hours. I also CALLED a couple of times to make sure that everything was indeed in stock. Check out page was very promissing, but then I went to a Customer Service page were I found that all items will be "shipped within 72 business hours". After receiving the order confirmation email I decided to wait for a tracking number util monday.
Then it was monday and I didn't get any tracking number or shipping confirmation, so I wrote an email to their support and received an answer from Jim who said that everything was shipped and tracking number will be sent shortly. This was monday evening. The same happened on tuesday. Again, I was promissed "a tracking number". On tuesday evening I realized that price went 100 OFF, so I could cancel my old order and reorder again, but since my package "was shipped", I decided to wait for a tracking number. Finally,on wednesday I wrote an angry email that I will block my pending card transaction if they won't send me a tracking number. They sent me a tracking #. Then I was shocked because they consistently LIED to me saying that it was shipped. I pulled out tracking information and discovered that my camcoder was shipped on wednesday night. Again, the point is that they REPEATEDLY LIED to me, so I wouldn't cancel my order and reorder again.
After receiving my camera I checked that I indeed received the US version and then started to examine accessories. Accessory kit wasn't the same as described on a website. Mini tripod came without the extension legs and the battery wasn't original Sony's. I checked their website again and realized that they used BAIT & SWITCH technique, so I would buy their acessories which are cheaper on ebay. Again, I contacted their customer support and this time I got an answer from Alex who asked me to call CS. It was friday and their CS was already closed, so I waited for another Monday.
On the next monday I called CS and carefully explained the situation, I said that all I want is the Original Sony battery and no more. They agreed and gave me a RMA #. They received the battery back on Wednesday, so I started to wait again. then another week passed.
On the Thursday, or 21 days after I ordered the camcoder I received the replacement and then I opened it I was shocked. They sent me a totally DIFFERENT BATTERY. It has twice lower capacity and price. I wrote them an email and they didn't reply to me. I will NEVER buy anything from them again."
"Received my order, packing was a little sketchy but other than that it was in great condition."
"Web site says "factory sealed, all factory accessories, full USA warranty." The reality is a gray market camera, no component connection cable ($40 to get it), no USA Canon warranty, European plug on the charger. I've contacted them via both phone and e-mail. So far, nothing. I would not buy from them again unless they make this right and soon."
"I purchased a Canon EFS lens that was out of stock everywhere. Dubys was the only website that had the lens, I placed the order on a Friday, I received a confirmation email on Sunday and the item was shipped on Monday with a UPS tracking #. I never received a call from anyone trying to sell me anything extras, which I was kind of surprised as I expected one for the hood that did not come with the lens.
Anyway my purchase was supposed to be for a US Warranty lens, but it came today with a grey market warranty.
After looking at other websites (B&H) the import lens is 19.00 lower, honestly I needed this lens now so I probably would have bought the lens anyway."
"Excellent customer service! Very helpful, and great prices! Fast shipping. Willing to go the extra mile to help a customer!
[update] 2008-01-25: I just realized that I did not get a USA warranty as advertised on the website. They are selling gray merchandise.
[update] 2008-04-14: I was contacted by this reseller a couple weeks ago about my review on ResellerRatings. They stated that they would provide a 3 year warranty for me at no charge. I received the warranty a few days ago. I didn't receive a Tamron warranty, the warranty is a third party warranty: RepairTech. "
"I ordered the Canon 40D from them because Nextag had a 4 out of 5 star rating and the trusted ribbon beside their name.
Deleivery was fast but I received a gray market camera, I called them within 5 minutes when I noticed the non Canon warranty, they tried to tell me it had gotten lost but to register it on the Canon site, that it would be warranted. I called Canon and they told me it was a gray market for sure like I had suspected. I returned it within 1 hour at my expense of $29.00. I am now waiting to see how long it takes them to credit my card because now I have to wait for that to clear before buying a new one from a trusted dealer.Very upsetting to be lied to and then to be lied to again when you know better. I will post again if they do not credit me by tomorrow like the promised to."
"I ordered a Nikon D40 from ibuydigital and the next day I received an email asking me to contact them to verify my order. When I did, the man I spoke to was very aggressive about upselling products and said that the battery that was included with the camera was only good for 20 minutes of shooting. When I said no, he kept pressing it, and then said that insurance would be an additional $45. There was no mention of this when I ordered the camera online, and I told him I didn't want to pay that. He said it wasn't optional and then told me that the manual that came with what I ordered would be in a different language. I would have to pay additional to order the one in English. At this point, I was disgusted with this place and their shady practices, so I just cancelled my order. Never again!! I guess you get what you pay for. Just like everyone else has said, this place is a complete scam. I can't imagine where the satisfied reviews came from.

"NEVER AGAIN - Ordered a Nikon D40 camera and lens kit online. Two days later receive an email that says to call and confirm the order. Uh, oh? After 10 minutes on hold and they manage to pull up my order after a few more rounds on hold. This is really getting irritating. Read back my name, address, telephone no., etc. yes, yes, yes, yes…. (Them) I see you ordered a camera body kit only. (Me) No, I ordered the camera and lens kit. (Them) Oh, ok I do see that now. Would you like to buy anything accessories for the camera? (Me) No thank you, I have everything I need. (Them) Ok that will ship in 2 business days and take 7-10 days ground shipping. Let me calculate your new total. (Me) Huh? New total? (Them) Yes, there are additional shipping charges. (Me) No, shipping was clearly stated as included. (Them) No, that is not correct, there are additional charges. (Me) lets cancel this order. (Them) Done. Click……………….NEVER AGAIN"
"I've ordered Sony HDR-SR8.
The item showed in stock. But it wasn't.
After they received a new shipment I was called over the phone.

"I phoned in and placed an order with Michael for a Canon 40D and an EF-70-200mm f/2.8L IS lens. I specifically asked Michael that the lens be the IS lens since Canon had an older non-IS lens which is what was listed on their website and I did not want that. He put me on hold to check and a few minutes later came back telling me that it is indeed the IS lens. After putting on the hard sell to get me to buy some additional accessories (I think they have a list of over-priced stuff that they're required to try and sucker you into) which I successfully fended off the order was finalized and placed.
A week later I receive the order and lo and behold the lens they shipped me is the non-IS lens that I specifically told him I did not want. A couple of work days of phone calls and emails to their "customer service" department went by without a single response from them. So I called up again and asked for "sales" (I think this is the only number they actually reply to) and got a hold of Michael (BTW he may be the only guy really working there) to tell him about the mixup. OK so he gives me an RMA number to return the lens for an exchange and a new price (of course according to Michael the price they had charged me before was not for the IS lens).
So I send the lens back, it takes a week for them to get the lens. Still no phone call or emails from them saying that they’ll ship the correct lens. I call three more times to see what the status of their shipping to me of the correct lens is, and finally they tell me that the exchange has been processed and that they will send me an email tomorrow with the tracking number for the exchange lens. Surprise ! the next day came and went without a single call or email from Dbuys. So at this point I need to bother to call them every day until they finally send this lens to me.
Bottom line, this is my first and LAST purchase with this sorry outfit."
"grey market camera confirmed by Nikon when the seller and the customer service both affirm that they do not any grey market item"
"I ordered a Canon HV20 from this merchant. I received no acknowledgement of my order and no tracking information. Several days later, I received a message on my cell phone stating that there was a problem getting my order approved. I wasn't able to call them until the next day. When I did, it became apparent that there was no problem. They just "wanted to confirm the shipping address" -- and, of course, to try to sell me more stuff. In the interim, the price had gone down. I asked for a credit. I was told I would receive it. I didn't. The item was dead on arrival. I called for an RMA number. I asked them to pay for return shipping since the problem wasn't my fault. They declined. I haven't received a replacement yet. I have had worse experiences with NY Internet merchants, and the price was right -- but the aggravation, delays, and poor customer service weren't worth it."
"My wife ordered a Canon G9 from CentralDigital.com, as it offered one of the lowest price on the web. Everything seemed OK with their website, their ordering, etc. The day after we placed the order we received a call from them asking if we were sure we dint want anything else with this order, espeically an additional battery, as the OEM battery lasted only for 30 mins! Would anyone believe that Canon manufactures batteries that last only for 30 mins!? Although, they dint insist a lot on we purchasing the backup battery, this sounded like the classic "bait and switch" tactic! I immediately had the order cancelled."

"Aweful experience and customer service. I received a call from DBuys a day after the purchase, only to sell me a warranty. They lied about the manufacturer's warranty and provided one that was too good to be true. Of course, I later found this out after reviewing the email confirmation. I quickly made a phone call to this seller, who then turned into an obnoxious and condescending person. I decided to cancel the order, but my request was not honored. I tried reasoning with this person to no avail. I later made several phone calls with no answer and left messages, which were never returned. I finally reached a supervisor, who also happened to be the same rude seller. I sent DBUYS another email about this incident and my request to cancel the order. I wasn't doing business with a company with deceitful and arrogant people."
