"Ordered a Zumo 450 GPS on 7/9 with 1-2 day shipping for an extra 50 bucks. Site said in stock, person on phone assured me it would be delivered by Fri 7/11. End of business day EST 7/10, charged my account but did not provide a tracking #. Called customer service, they claimed that my billing address was not a match on the credit card (even though the card was charged 534.00), not possible. I canceled the order. We will see how long it takes them to credit my bank account back the money.
Not only will I never use this site, but I will never use a small internet reseller of electronics again. They are all scam artists.
If you read these positive reviews they are clearly schill reviews written by the same person. I thought RR.com could do better than this.
To the person writing these schill positive reviews: Almost NOONE remembers the name of the person on the phone when the transaction goes smoothly. So keep writing, "oh Derek was great!" all you want. Your reviews are obviously bogus.
But why was I even using DBuys? Because price comparison sites including reseller ratings were showing false prices for major retailers mots notably Amazon.com.
RR, pricegrabber, yahoo shopping, and just about every price compare site had a price of between 80-300 dollars higher listed for Amazon.com than the actual price of the device if you searched on it directly at Amazon.
Also if you click on the higher price listed for Amazon in the price compare you are taken to Amazon.com where Amazon glady charges you 200 or more dollars over their prices for the device and kicks back the difference to the price comparison site.
So I thought dbuys.com had the cheapest price by using these sites, only to find out by going directly to Amazon.com that the price was over a hundred dollars less.
Which leads us to the conclusion, Of course dbuys didnt ship my order as promised, because they need time to buy the device from Amazon, and reship it to me and pocket the difference.
You electronics guys are a piece of work, and I will let every single soul I can get my hands on know what a scam you are running."
"I have had a great experience with Ibuydigital. This is my second purchase (camera) since I bought my 52" sony lcd last year. I was quite anxious last year purchasing an expensive large item, but it was delivered on time in great shape and I was more than pleased at the savings. No complaints about the camera purchase either. I will continue to do business with them."
"I was able to receive my product in a timely manner and the product preforms as described. I guess the old saying, "you get what you pay for" applies here. For a lower price, in order to complete my order, I had to talk with a clerk who tried to sell me products that I neither wanted nor needed. I found this not an acceptable trade off for a lower priced product."
"This was my first time from ibuy.com and here are my thoughts.
Good -
Easy to find products, pay and check out.
got a call the following day to check up on the order
Bad -
Not able to see status of order online
When tried to call was on hold a long time.
I would buy from them again."
"I ordered a Canon 5D online at ibuyplasma.com on Friday night. Unlike other online merchants I didn't get a confirmation email immediately. On Monday morning I got an email asking me to call to confirm the order. When I did I was informed that the camera did not come with a manufacturers warranty. When I asked why not the rep told me that it was because the camera was "gray market" but that I could buy a warranty from them. I said I wasn't interested and would like to cancel the order. The rep replied: "You want to cancel the order" and I said that yes, I did. His response was "Drop dead! Goodbye" and he hung up on me!"
"It is really hard for me to believe that anybody has written a positive review of this outfit. I can't imagine that the positive reviewers got the right store name.. only one reason occurs to me for writing a positive review.. oh well,
What a HORRIBLE experience! Stay away from these people!
I ordered a hi=def TV on Fri., June 6. I printed the confirmation from the web site, which was fortunate, since no email confirmation was received. I waited until Tuesday, June 10, and still having heard nothing, I called. The recording said they were closed Mon. and Tue. (It turns out this was a Jewish holiday, and, it is claimed, was stated on their web site - ok, maybe so. I didn't see it).
I called again on Wed., June 11. The CSR told me, after checking my order #, that it had been "sent to the warehouse for preparation". She asked me to hold on. Next thing I knew I'm talking to a man named Jim, who confirmed the TV I had ordered. He asked me if I needed cables/wires, and a mounting bracket or stand. I said, no, since I'm having it installed locally and all of those things will be provided. He asked me if I wanted an extended warranty. I said no, thanks. Then he said ok, the TV will probably ship in about 5 days and will be there in 2-3 weeks. Now, when I ordered this TV, I accepted the price of $2101 for the TV, and I selected "Express Threshhold delivery, for $149.95, stated at 5-7 Business Days". I pointed this out to Jim, who said that the order was received TODAY, June 11, even though I had placed it last week on June 6. He also said, I think, that they have up to 5 days to fill the order, and THEN, the 5-7 business day delivery would start. (Note the web site says orders "typically" ship in 1-2 days)
He went on to say that there is NO WARRANTY with the TV, and no stand.
I pointed out that his web site specifically says the TV includes a "manufacturers warranty". Are you ready for his reply? He said, "well, WE are the manufacturer, and we provide a LIMITED warranty". I didn't understand him. I said, "What do you mean, YOU are the manufacturer? Are you Panasonic"? He said,"no, we are Ibuyplasma.com, WE are the manufacturer, and it is our warranty". I said, but did YOU make the TV set". He said, "No, its a Panasonic but we are the manufacturer". Figure that one out.
Before I cancelled the order, he made the following additional points:
1. Even though the product info page at their web site clearly says the TV includes a stand, he said, "that's a typo. No stand is included."
2. He said its a grey market TV and thats the way they come - no warranty from Panasonic, and no stand.
3. He offered me a US set (same Panasonic model but legitimate made-for-USA-sale), for $2399, plus $99 for White Glove shipping, and less a special discount of $50. So, instead of paying the $2251 I was originally billed, had I been incredibly stupid enough to accept his kind offer, I would have paid $2448. And oh yes, if I agreed to buy the "US set", THAT one he could ship tomorrow!"
"Review retracted - pending outcome."
"Excelent price and service. Fast shipping. Would do business with them again. The sales rep Derek was also very helpful with my order."
"Fred at Ext 522 was very helpful. After 3 bad experiences with misleading ads and VERY high pressure sales, I was a little skeptical. Fred recommended options to me but really made me feel like I made the proper choice. I will do business with this company again. "
"I found this retailer by searching for the best price for the camera I wanted - after weeding out 'gray market' sellers. I did call to verify that this was a new USA version, and I was assured it was. I also called to follow up on my order and spoke with Fred - he again assured me it was the USA version and would be shipping out in the next day or two. My camera arrived about a week after ordering it & seems to be in perfect, brand new condition. I will update if I experience any issues with my camera. The only complaint I have at this point is that it said a signature would be required for delivery, but it was left at our front door without a signature. Fortunately my husband ran home for lunch and found it there - otherwise it could have baked in the hot sun or who knows what else. Not sure if that was the retailers mistake or UPS's."
"I had a great experience with this merchant. I bought a GPS system and it arrived a few days later as promised, I got a free delivery upgrade for this as well. Their customer service rep I spoke to, Fred, was very helpful!"
"My order was supposed to be upgraded and it was not. I called today and I guess we'll see what happens."
"lol... the comment below is bogus. I called into the store and checked ext. 522. It is Fred... but he is in no way helpful. Call in before you go ahead and buy from the site... it will turn you away. Also, I checked his voicemail (hit * at menu, then 522, then 1234#) and they were all complaints. Check it out."
"Received my Denon 3808CI receiver with no problem. Sure, I was asked about an aftermarket warrantee and accessories before they confirmed the order. But, they were professional during the entire process and standard shipping was very fast. I figure that they are not authorized dealers and may deal in merchandise obtained by less than orthodox means. So, my warrantee may be worthless. Still, I saved several hundred dollars, the item was unopened and it performs flawlessly."
"Lier. Don't buy from them."
