Another reviewer mentioned that it wouldn’t lay flat. I put heavy items on the edges the first night and it is absolutely flat.

"I purchased the NG log ventless heater solely for the event of a power outage. It operates similar to a BBQ grill. Mine does not require 115 volts. I placed it inside my fireplace and it looks and works great. The online pictures don’t do it justice. Customer service was polite and knowledgeable as I called before purchase, and after. The assembly of the logs was a small puzzle as the instructions and pictures could be improved, not a dealbreaker. The burner does have a low hiss, just its nature even with a whisper quite SS flex gas line. It also came with some fiber like material similar to cotton that gets placed directly on the lower burner (place it right on top the holes) and glows red like embers . At the time it seemed to be the least expensive but does 40k btu which is more btu than similar models. Very happy with my choice. "
