"I signed up for an eharmony membership thinking I had a three day period in which to try out the app and could request a refund if I wasn't satisfied. I found the user base in my area incredibly small, and as this is by far the most expensive app I have come across, I certainly did not see the value for my money. When I requested a refund within the three day window, I found out that the refund policy only applies if you live in certain states. If you don't then you are not eligible. What a criminal policy. They have stolen my money,

"eharmoney does not follow their own policies. There s a 3 days full refund policy in the agreement they send me. Cancelled within the time and they denied my refund, still no explanation on how I do not meet the criteria in their own policy. Dealing with costumer service is a real pain. I do not recommend this service. "

Be very careful, I tried to cancel my renewal the day of renewal and was charged an alarming $270.74 when the sign up fee was no where near that, there are so many other wonderful sites out there that actually do help and are not money hungry.

"eharmony needs to add a lot of new members. When you first sign up you are bombarded (by the limited number of members they have). After that you don’t hear from anyone. They don’t even try give you dynamic search results because they are the same people over and over again. They claim to be a big site but it just seems very small. Also will not let you cancel even if it's within 24 hours. Very focused on getting their money whether you are happy or not."

"They’re after your financial information; I started my account in February with a prepaid credit card as I won’t put my personal financial information online or on an app. I chose monthly payments (which, by the way, they actually get an extra $30 or more off of since you pay more to pay month to month), but the card only had enough for February & March, so over a week before my April payment was due to come out I tried to change the payment information to another prepaid card but got an error message. I opened up a support request & was basically told that they have the updated information & the payment would go through. Spoilers… It didn’t! Then I was told to contact my “financial institution” regarding it as apparently they were being blocked from accessing the funds - it HAD no Financial Institution as it’s a PREPAID card. But I was told the same thing over & over. I even went out & got another prepaid (same type as I originally opened with), only to have THE SAME THING HAPPEN, both with the error message & with their response… when they finally opted to respond (almost a week after I opened another support request, & that’s only because I got frustrated with the lack of response despite them assuring “24 hours is the maximum amount of time before our team gets back to you”). I was basically told the only way to move forward with my account/subscription- because they apparently have the most recent card on file & are again advising they’re being blocked from taking the funds - or close my account, is to electronically transfer them money or put my actual debit or credit information on their website. Over a week later, I still haven’t received an answer from the original request I put in.
If you use this app with a prepaid, you need to choose to pay the lump sum because otherwise they’ll demand your personal financial information! Even that’s no guarantee. If you use eHarmony, I hope you’ll have a better experience than I did!

"Found a partner on another dating site. Thought I cancelled the subscription through the app. Noticed a $745.74 charge on my credit card from eharmony. Contact them.
Their response: "Subscriptions renew automatically to provide our customers with uninterrupted service. For your convenience we mention this during the purchase process. Unfortunately, we are unable to honor your request for a refund as your request is outside of our cancellation policy as stated in our Terms and Conditions."
After back and forth emails I was able to get HALF the charges refunded, but they refused to refund the entire amount. There was no warning email that my 12 month subscription was coming due, just a charge on my CC and literally the next day eHarmony telling me sorry, they cannot reverse the charges. A bit of a SCAM in my books.
On the service part of things, lengthy questioning to ensure you have YOUR PERFECT match! Well, let me tell you...I was talking with ladies that were EXACTLY like me. It freaked me out. And something I did not want of course! Opposites attract in my book and this was not what I was looking for."

No refunds or 3 day trials in certain locations. Very unclear terms and terrible customer service. The website is very outdated (the worst I have ever seen) in comparison to other free apps. "I barely had any matches, maybe one date, while many dates and interactions on other sites. I cancelled my subscription just to find out I was auto-renewed. I sent email same day asking to cancel for it was a mistake, it should have been already cancelled. However, they refused and charged my card anyway. There is no way out from them except to cancel my credit card to avoid another charge a year from now. Please don't waste your time and money on eHarmony - worst dating site ever. "

"Completely unethical site, impossible to get a refund from 3 days after buying membership. Extremely limited partner choices. I tried canceling membership 3 days after purchasing it and I was told people can only do it if they live in certain states (2 or 3 states). No cooling off period. I left very "positive" reviews on every possible site I could find. Filed complaints with BBB and Ministry of Government and Consumer Services. I contacted my bank and they will be opening a dispute trying to reverse this transaction. I encourage everyone who is not satisfied with eharmony policies and the way they treat their customers to do the same. "
