"Price was slightly better than B&H and I tried. Modest push by phone salesman to buy additional stuff which I expected and did. Quality on the extras seemed ok, Zeikos extra battery and Transcend CF card.

Camera came in box labelled kit (with lens) but box number for camera body matched the body number on the camera. However, the software included was for Asia and Australia only. That I found troubling. When I heard back from Canon that I should have had an American Registration Card, and had neither, I became more concerned.

Canon tech was helpful and said it sounded like I got a legitimate camera, although they can't verify the body number as being intended for US market. Camera seems to operate normally and has features I expected on the model number purchased.

I subsequently called customer service and was assured that the camera was legit and that Canon would honor warranty, with the invoice, which I've received. At that time I also told the rep that I had some concern that the compact flash card was faulty. I want to test it further, but was reassured further that if the problem recurs, they'll replace the card.

So after much anxiety, I seem to be launched, and am feeling much more postively toward Fumfie."
