"I suggest avoiding this store. I ordered a Canon Powershot SX30 IS on 2/12/11 for $339. Their website said there was no tax and free shipping so $339 should have been the total price. They called me to "verify" my order, which was really a call to try to sell me accessories. I declined them all. They then said that my total would be $369.51 because I had to pay for insurance. I canceled the order."
"Fumfie is a great company to work with. Their prices are unbeatable and their customer service is a breeze to deal with."
"Be CAREFUL in dealing with Fumfie, very disappointed with their misrepresentation, unethical conduct and misleading prospective customers
My experience WASN'T positive. After researching camcorders, I placed order with Fumfie. I checked reputations, Fumfie rating seemed acceptable compared to others. however after placing order I observed the following:
a) Confirmation email does not show order number, total cost.
b) Got call to confirm order. had to make corrections: they said order was for 2 cameras. Actually it was for 1.
c) They said i ordered 2 year extended warranty. I didn't.
The person I spoke with appeared to be cooperative and go out of their way.
d) Until I asked them to confirm exactly total. they said $863 something whereas camcorder I ordered was $789 incl. shipping and no tax. They said "oh that's for insurance which is required... so its like over 60 bucks for insurance?
e) I cancelled order which they did promptly (received cancellation email from them).Went to UPS site, UPS charges like 0.90 for every $100 so for a $800 order it should be like $7.20
Not $60.
Yet this is Fumfie's game - to show a "teaser price" as bait - so it shows up among the lowest totals on internet price comparison search engines but then tally up higher totals. Presumably they hope to upsell or add accessories to make up for the teaser price which apparently is very little profit for them.
When they sense customer wouldn't go for the bait, they go out of their way in accommodating cancellation of order. Get the drift?
Stay AWAY from fumfie, dishonest business. Wouldn't recommend them anymore no matter what little positive comments there are. On their website and order pages nowhere is it apparently of a steep insurance charge. The emphasis is on "Free Shipping". Get the picture?"
"Great company! Came with a free cleaning cloth, screen guard, and mini tripod. They also sent me a free full sized tripod just for reviewing the Canon Rebel T2i. Overall awesome."
"I've ordered Panasonic Lumix DMC-G10 camera on 02/09/11 from www.fumfie.com for $339.00 next day I received the call from their salesman offering to purchase accessories to that camera. Offers are $15.95 for the longer battery and 34.99 for 4 gb memory total is $50.94 plus the cost of camera $339.00 totals out to $389.94 next minute after conversation with salesman I receive Invoice in the email for $468.98. I called the customer service at 02/10/11 at 14:30 to get this resolved. When representative answered he did not represent himself and didn’t ask for order number, I gave the man order number anyway but that didn't help him because he kept making mistakes on what I've purchased. I started to explain to him what is it that I've purchased and when, after listening rep. started to argue with me that it is impossible that I've gotten such a low price on the accessories. I tried to explain who exactly gave me such price and if they cost way more than that I don't need them on which representative said oh ok and hang up without processing cancelation and giving me confirmation number. These people are extremely unprofessional and have no set up system or network to run such business. I still called back 4 times and no one ever answered. Called 5th time and finally got through to customer service and kindly asked for a manager but manager is not available and rep. asked for my phone number and name and that manager will call me back. I put my money on that manager will never call me back!"
"Quick, courteous and great price."
"I can't say enough positive things about Fumfie. They offer great prices on quality products combined with exceptional customer service. They know their products and were able to direct me to the products that best suited my needs. They did not try to sell me on accessories. I will continue to use them to fill all my photography needs and I highly recommend them."
"BE CAREFUL. This store is very DECEPTIVE. I ordered a camera from their site. I finished my order, input all of the credit card payment details and figured the transaction was done. A few days later I got an email requesting the following: "For faster processing time, we ask that you please call us to verify the details of this order." When I called I found myself speaking with a fast talking salesman who was trying to sell a lot of stuff I didn't need. He told me the battery that came with the camera was really lousy and would only last 30 minutes (not true) and that they could sell me an upgraded one for half price. Next he tried pushing a 1-year warranty on me. (The camera already comes with a one-year warranty.) There were a few other useless items he tried to push off on me but you get the idea.
Since I had done extensive research on this camera I knew I didn't need any of the extra items he was selling. So far no problem. I'm used to pushing salesman. The kicker came when he tallied the final cost and tried to slip this in, "a 9 percent insurance fee will be added to the total cost". When I called him on it he said it was a "mandatory" cost. I told him I didn't need the insurance and he threatened to cancel the order. Unfortunately I was leaving for trip to South East Asia in a week and couldn't afford the time to cancel and reorder. I'm sure there must be something illegal with their bait and switch tactics.
Lastly, the imbeciles sent me the wrong color camera. You've been warned; don't deal with these losers’!
FOLLOW UP - 23 MARCH 2011 - A rep from Fumfie called me to tell me they have discontinued the deceptive practice that I wrote about in my review. I went ahead and looked up the same camera (that I had the problem with) on their website. The camera is now listed for the final price I paid (original price + the 9%). The new price is competitive with other sites and you won't have to deal with any BS. Plus they apologized profusely and assured me (because of all of the complaints) that they would not be doing it again. "
"Everything went exactly as planned ordering my Canon 5d. Its was a great price but it was coming across country so I was nervous ordering online from a company I didnt know. They were very helpful over the phone and the camera came within the time frame communicated to me. I would order from them again in a heartbeat!"
"This store is scam. They accepted order online and sent email to call to process order. When I called back, First thing they talked about is battery life is dismal on camcorder. I need to order extended life battery otherwise order will be canceled. Another condition they put is need to purchase 2 year warranty and shipping insurance when camcorder comes with one year warranty. Somehow they charge extra money on card and try to make-up with discount given as advertised in ads.
Don't bother with scam artist. They are just time waste. "
"Fumfie is the WORST company I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. After I placed my order there was a mistake and I called within 5 minutes to fix it. They said the order was instantaneously sent to shipping and there was nothing they could do about it. When the items arrived the accessories in the "Everything Package" were all of very low quality, not even made for a DSLR camera. They tried to appease me by sedning more free junk, a package of UV filters that do more harm than good, a tripod that does not work and a memory card that is notorious for poor quality but all itmes excpet the camera were returned regardless of their efforts to avoid the situation. A few days later I received my credit card bill and it was for $24.99 more than the invocice they sent me and the credit for the returns was short $15. After calling Fumfie they said the additional charge was for insurance but I showed them on their invoice where it clearly said "shipping, handeling and insurance included". They refused to recognize the double charge or the short on the refund and said there is nothing they could do. Filed a complaint with the FTC and BBB. They have had a large number of complaints on the BBB already and have not been a member for more than a few months.

"Good delivery service and good price.
You had the Nikon D 7000 in stock, others were more expensive and didn´t have availability.
I have just few days the camera and I do enjoy it much. Before I had a Sony F828."
"Everything was delivered as ordered. No problems with anything. Thank you for making this so easy. "
"Fumfie gave excellent service. Price was very competive. UPS indicated that they had lost camera in shipment but Fumfie worked with me in checking on camera and I received camera on time and in excellent condition."
"It seems that this online retailer is a fraud. I ordered a JVC camcorder GV-HD620 from Fumfie.com. I found this website from Pricegrabber.com. The listed price (with free shipping) for the item was $369. I completed the transaction online and was waiting for the item to be shipped. But I received a call and an email asking me to call them back to complete the transaction. This was the typical signal for a fraud online retailer. Anyway, I called them. They first started to impose many different items related to the camcorder. I refused to buy anything more. Then they told me that I must pay $408; $49 extra for insurance charge. It was not at all mentioned in the transaction and the item qualified for free shipping. I refused to pay the extra $49. I duly informed them to cancel my order. I also sent an email cancelling the order. Yet they processed the order and sent me an email informing me that they deducted $408 for the item. I called them immediately and demanded my money back. They refunded my money and cancelled the order.
Beware of such fraudulent online retailers like Fumfie.com who attract unsuspecting customers by very cheap price and then push sell different items first. If unsuccessful, they charge extra money in some pretext. It has been reported in other review forums that this seller replace genuine parts and sell that as "accessories" for extra money.
I reported the incident to Pricegrabber.com (through which I got that retailer). But it seems that pricegrabber.com does not care much to remove such fraud online retailers from its website. "
