"We signed up for free 30 day trial which they press you to do at check out,after 20 days I called and canceled,was told the sub membership was canceled but the VIP would still work till the 31 day mark, I just read a bunch of other reviews about magazine subscriptions and realized all these mags that I've been getting for three months that I've never signed up for or chosen or anything may be because of FYE,checked my checking account and sure enough Ive been getting charged for VIP the last 3 months,I only used the pass once the day I got signed up and never used any of the "coupons or perks"either. WTH?"

"Charged for FREE magazines they make your pick when you sign up for a membership they did NOT have my permission to charge my card for these magazines I don't even need, use, or want. DONT BUY FROM HERE."

"I am from the generation of “former” young people who went to Blockbuster to rent a movie. I was saddened when Blockbuster closed and I continued frequenting F.Y.E. primarily for nostalgic reasons. So I bought two DVDs the other day. One DVD didn’t work and as I don’t expect the employees to watch every single movie to make sure they are okay, I went to exchange it. Once I opened the new case at home, I realized that the DVD was missing. So now I am slightly irritated because the employees should check what they seal. I returned a third time in my usual polite way for the same DVD (worth a couple of dollars) and encountered a rude employee who refused to exchange the DVD as I had brought the receipt from the second exchange but not the initial purchase. I stopped being polite, started to be rude and loud, an immediately the managers came running and exchanged the DVD. If there is something I can’t stand is that I have to raise my voice in order to be recognized as paying customer. In conclusion, F.Y.E. won’t have me as loyal customer until their inevitable demise as they made a switch to Netflix so much more appealing. (F.Y.E. 1926 in Torrance on Hawthorne/Sepulveda)."

"FYE is impossible to work with. I ordered 3 DVDs, but to the wrong address. Less than a minute later, I sent a message to them about this. 12 HOURS went by until I got a response, and even after them sending that, the order wasn't cancelled, and now it was just shipped to some strangers house. So that means 30 Dollars just went down the drain to someone I don't even know."

"This business is so horribly mismanaged that I'm not surprised that our local retail outlet is usually empty. The employees and managers are rude to the customers. If you have any problems or questions, they speak to the customer in that nasty tone of false politeness. I've also had employees lie to me about managers being present and refuse to tell me when a manager will be back. They are also misrepresenting a product they claim is a CD in "Lossless" format. After we purchased the CD, we brought it home and found out it was made up of MP3 files, which is a file compression method that cuts out certain frequencies. "Lossless" by definition does not lose any of the original song's frequency. Although we manged to get a refund, this deceptive practice will be reported to the California Attorney General. Either management doesn't know anything about music file formats or they are intentionally misrepresenting a product. I'll let the state attorneys decide whether this constitutes fraud but if it does, it's being conducted on a large scale, worthy of a class action suit, in my opinion."

"I bought a used DVD box set at FYE. When I got home and unwrapped it I found that another volume of the item had been put into the slipcase for the volume I thought I had bought. Needless to say, the item I thought I bought was expensive and rare, and the DVD set inside the case was not. The store buyer for the item either did not even remotely look at what they were buying, or they stole the item outright for themselves and switched the contents.

Despite immediately showing back up to the store with receipt in hand, they refused a refund because I had opened the item. I mean, I was just there face to face with the clerk. He stated I could do a merchandise exchange for equal value. So I am forced into buying things I don't want because of their mistake?

This is not the first time this has happened. Box set sometimes miss colletibles, making them worthless on the resale market. I've gotten DVDs so scratched, they are not playable.

The bottom line is FYE does not stand behind their used items, and their "used guaranteed" sticker on the items is a joke. You get better protection on ebay where at least you know what is inside the item, and Paypal will back any dispute and almost always side with the buyer. So Ebay offers better protection than FYE. That is really sad.

You might just say why not have the clerk open the used item in front of you before you buy, but the last FYE I was in stated it was their policy to not open used items for the customer before purchase!

Moral of the story is...if you buy a used item at FYE you are ON YOUR OWN ONCE YOU WALK OUT THE DOOR, YOU ARE GAMBLING !!!

"fye.com are the worst!

No customer service whatsoever,ignores all your emails, whatever email address you use (I tried them all) and even when your messages are sent directly on their site.

Impossible to get rid of their junk mail, too.
They give no safe 'Unsubscribe' link, that is, an URL that I could copy and paste in my browser, to be sure we don't click on a link in a spam email that might not be from them.

I am so sick of them...and yet can't get rid of them.
They keep emailing me against my will, won't unsubscribe me.

"fye.com, fye. and coconuts are all the biggest joke ever. Save yourself time and energy and just order through someone else. There is a reason this is rated 0.01/10. I pre-ordered mlb2k12 3/1..game released 3/6...as of 3/7 4:30pm order is still processing. I just called to cancel and no one has a clue. It takes over a week to find a game a package it up? Most respectable businesses have a pre-order to your house the day before it's released in store (as u can go to store at midnight)...newegg ships 100x the amount of things this POS company does, and nothing has taken more than 24 hours from them to ship. JOKE JOKE JOKE..no wonder fye doesnt monitor this website, it would take a team of employees."

"f.y.e. is a prime example of buyer beware. If you purchase something at one of there retail outlets a clerk will attempt to sell you their discount card called a backstage pass. If you decline, they will offer it free for 30 days. If you accept, what they do not tell you, is when you sign your credit card receipt, you are signing a contract. One that allows the company to charge your credit card $11.99 a month if you do not take action to cancel the membership. Talk about your fine print. I attempted to cancel and told my membership had not processed and I would have to call back at a later date to cancel. F.Y.E. is extremely dishonest in the way the represent the program. I cannot and will not do business with people I cannot trust."

"was a long time customer of fye, i purchased a couple of 3d blu ray dvds, from fye.com received one that was in wrong format had to pay shipping to return it, the other 3d blu ray, i no longer wanted so i returned it, items were paid with fye gift card , fye sends me automated emails everyday claiming they havent received the dvds, when in fact they received the items on november 28 2011. the date is now january 11 2012 still havent received my refund , ive called the about 10 times just gives me bs that it takes 4-8 weeks to issue a gift card refund, what a joke. ill never buy anything from them again, they will steal your money. until this day still claims they havent received , even after i gave them the tracking info, and a copy of the tracking receipt from the usps. hi guys i call fye corporate number befor i wrote this review, spoke to a lady said she would check on my refund, didnt really think she would but 10 mins later received my refund, so i call the number on the back of the fye gift card and my money has been refunded., after 6 weeks of bs , one call to theire coporate office and iam issued a refund, wow after all the calls and emails iam happy i didnt give up. but i will never buy from fye again. i call this coporate number ***-***-**** yes fye still sucks"

"DO NOT BUY FROM FYE.COM!!!! This is the worst experience I have ever had buying something. I pre-ordered Modern Warfare 3 for Xbox 360. Waited a month, when it came out, my son was so excited. Got the package and it was for PS3!!!!! My son's PS3 had just been stolen! that's why I was buying him the game to make him feel better. So I try to contact them and there is no phone number. There is also no record of my email address in their system even though I ordered it that way and got my confirmation that way. It took me over a week to get a return authorization. In the meantime they sent another game. Guess what? Wrong game again! It has been almost a month and someone signed for the returned game 8 days ago at their facility and they are still sending me emails that they never rec'd it but will not answer any questions, etc or return my money. I will never buy anything from them again!!!!"

"On 11-10-2011 I bought a XBOX 360 MW3 SYSTEM from the F.Y.E from (NEWPORT MALL IN NEW JERSY) I spend $426 for the xbox When I got home the same day I bought the system I found out the system was not working (IT HAD THE RED RING OF DEATH)I called the store to let them know that the system was not working when I spoke to one of the rep from F.Y.E they said they would not take refunds for ELETRONICS and GAME SYSTEMS they don't even exchange it. The next day I took the XBOX SYSTEM WITH MY RECIPT I ask to speak with a Manager The Manager JOEY RIVERA was very rude he told me "deal with the manufator there is nothing we can do for you". I told the manager to return my money or to give me a new one he then again said "I won't refund you nor exchange it deal with it is company policy" make the story short I end up leaving the store without exchange or my money a broken xbox system from the box. PLEASE DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS STORE IF YOU DON WANT TO END UP COMPLAINING ABOUT THIS STORE LIKE ME."

"fye.com sucks. i currently have 2 orders that i have been waiting to be refunded on. in the past month i've sent over 10 emails and 7 phone calls. nobody can just take care of the issue over the phone. everything has to be passed along to a supervisor who never follows up or takes care of it. i swear they're screwing with me because how hard is it to refund someone when they cancel a order BEFORE it was even shipped out. both orders were pre-orders for video games and i canceled them before there release date. any other retailer will credit your money immediately and will go out of their way to assist you and be prompt. FYE has ignored me several times. they even canceled my gift card after the pre-order so i had no card for the refund to be credited to. i gave them another card# and am still waiting. these 2 orders are so basic, that's why i can't understand what the hold up is. the merchandise was never even shipped to me. i emailed them 4 times before they responded 9 days later. since then i've made numerous attempts and i keep being told they're forwarding this matter to they're superior. epic fail."

"Ordered a DVD 30 days ago from the fye.com website. never came. Website said I had to wait 21 days past the alleged ship date before I could call about the lost order. I emaled (no phone number provided)on day 21. It took the company several days to reply, and when they did so, simply stated that I needed to call customer service at a given number. I did so ... they then said I had to wait 30. Each call I've made to fye.com's customer care line has resulted in me being on hold between 12 and 16 minutes. The "solution" to my lack of shipped item is that now I get to fill out a lost in transit form to try and get my money back.

I reordered my item on Monday from barnes and noble. It's currently "out for delivery" with ups and I expect it this afternoon (friday).
