"A current employee of FYE, I am finding it more and more deplorable every day. "FYE is an absolutely awful company. We've ordered a couple things from them before that turned out fine, but our latest experience has really, really turned us off to them.

We ordered three items as part of a deal online, buy two get one free. Two of the items shipped. Four days after we were notified that the two items shipped, we received an email saying that the third item was unavailable and was removed from the order. This meant instead of getting three items for price X, we were only getting two for price X (because the third one was free and all three cost the same amount). We called to cancel the order, but we were told that since the first two items had shipped, we would need to wait until we received the items, then work at returning them (at our cost to ship, which they would later reimburse us with a significant hassle). We have since called customer service 6 times, e-mailed them 3 times, and done everything we could to resolve the issue. We have not even gotten a response, much less a resolution, and it has been 6 weeks since we first attempted to resolve this. Unfortunately, we are stuck because customer service has zero power - the claim was sent to corporate. Neither us nor customer service has heard back from corporate about it, and they aren't allowed to give out corporate's telephone number. So we can't contact them, don't hear back from them and basically have no ability to even get ahold of someone who has any power in this situation.

I find it outrageous that they 1) shipped the items without the third one, 2) only notified us 4 days after the first two shipped that the third one was unavailable, 3) have not even responded to our claim (we believe they're just tabling it in hopes we'll let it go), 4) don't allow us to talk to anyone who has a hand in solving this issue.

Our original solution was that they reimburse us 1/3 of the total, allowing us to essentially get the discount, but keep the two items we have. Since it has taken so long to even hear anything from FYE, we are now going to demand that we receive a full refund for the items. We will contact everyone we can, including Trans World (who owns FYE), our credit card company, and anyone else we can help. We will spread the word everywhere we can that nobody should buy from FYE. They will rue the day that they screwed up our order!

"THIS IS THE WORST ONLINE COMPANY. STAY AWAY AND NEVER BUY FROM THEM. When i returned some items (with authorization number)They would not return my money! I have been fighting them for 4 weeks. I finally filed a claim with Paypal...still waiting. "

"The prices at FYE aren't the lowest, but it was the customer service that made it worth it. I had ordered incorrect cds for a gift, and found out well after my purchase. I only had a few days to resolve the situation, but FYE.com allowed me to exchange the merchandise for the correct products. The shipping was just as advertised, and they even upgraded it at no extra cost. Very thankful for their service, and will be a returning customer."

"So on March 13, 2010 I went in to FYE on the Warwick Mall(Rhode Island) and pre ordered a CD that was due to come out on April 6, 2010. Well the week before the CD was due to come out the Warwick Mall store had flooded, not their fault, but I called the next closest one to tell them, and they said no problem, we will grab an extra one and give it to you with your receipt. Now, when you pre order a CD the company makes a special order with your name on it so they have enough items to give to the people that made the pre order. Well I go in on the 6th to find out that they "forgot" to put one aside and that they had none in the store because they sold out of them. Keep in mind, I got in within the first 30 mins of them being opened and they had no more of this CD that came in 4 different versions (I also listen to heavier music, with it not being as popular as your mainstream stuff i doubt they sold out within a half hour on a weekday). The lady then told me they are getting more thursday and to come back. I call thursday, they didn't get any in and there is nothing they can do. I am going to press my luck and TRY to get a refund, but never ever ever go to FYE, they are the worst customer serviced company EVER!"

"My daughter and I purchase a used CD at the store in Amherst,NY. A saleman helped us with the selection of the CD and he cashed us out. Will, the CD was a DVD, that they miss labeled on the packaging in the front and back.I call to complain, my daughter wanted her money back. She only 13 years old. The lady that answer the phone said that they cannot gave my money back because she open the package. They are not responsible for their human errors,but we are. She stated my daughter open the CD therefore she can only get store credit. We open open it because the package stated CD in front and back and the sale clerk selected it for us. How would we knew it was a DVD marked as a CD and put in the CD section.She stated that the CD are placed with the DVD in the store and that I should be aware of it. Will that's a lie. I was at the store and I saw it with my own eyes, they have a CD and DVD section.Wish me luck in trying to get my money on Thursday. I have all the packing materials and receipt, but they have their store rules. I felt like the bait and switch was performed on me. Oh , don't buy anything that has a rebate in FYE because you will paid and not receive your rebate money. You will not get any help from customer service or an live operator because the phone line is not in service at headquarter(Trans World).What you end up with, is full price item, plus price of stamp and one big headache. The matter has been fixed. They gave my money back and admitted their mistake. The rebate is a losing battle without a live operator.Live and learn,not to buy any rebate purchase at FYE."

"Don't ever order from www.fye.com. They have essentially stolen my money. Even if you talk to a person on the 1-800 number (newest way is to press "7" after dialing number), they can't do anything. Only the "supervisor" that doesn't work during normal business hours can handle claims, and he or she will never contact you. I ordered a blu-ray disc that was poorly shipped in an envelope with no padding, disc was loose in the package, scratched, and unplayable. After forcing me to pay to ship it back to them, they have not refunded my money. Talking to the people it is because of a reload error on their end but they can't do anything - only the supervisor. I hope this company folds or the Federal Trade Commission shuts them down. If I stole a blu-ray from their store, I'd go to jail - how come they don't go to jail for stealing customers money? The website should be forced to be taken down and Trans World should no longer be allowed to conduct business via on-line.

If any of you see this that have been ripped off by fye.com, please do as I did and submit a complaint to the BBB of New York (headquarters for Trans World Media is located in Albany), Federal Trade Commission, and letter to the headquarters. If enough people complain about this company's fraud tactics, maybe they'll be forced to close their on-line business.

"WHAT AN ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE DEALING WITH THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!! On 12/11/09, my wife placed an order and neglected to change the standard shipping method to "budget shiping" to get the free shipping for an order over $30. She sent an e-mail, at 10:15am EDST, 7 minutes after placing the order recognizing that a mistake was made. That mistake, cost HOURS of my time attempting to resolve it. Even after contacting the corporate office 3 times during the day, it took me until almost 9pm to get someone to help me. The customer service reps, and even their supervisors, are rude, recultant to help.....but everyone of them acknowledged that the website is misleading.....imagine that???? There is an option on the site to "cancel before shipping". However, literally seconds after you hit enter for your order, that option is no longer available to you. Why bother having that as an option then???? Even their own customer service reps can't cancel an order before it is shipped. Because, as I was told, the packing label can be printed and a processing center can accept the order within seconds. Thus, a human being CAN NOT knowingly make a mistake and have it corrected. Once you make a mistake and try to correct it, you are at their mercy. After arguing with people there for hours, they finally agreed to refund my shipping charges.....I couldn't believe this was happening for $8!!! They spent more than $8 in salaries dealing with me. One of their reps, David, even stated, "This was all your fault anyway, and we are going above and beyond correcting what was your fault." Really???? I tried to correct my mistake 7 minutes after I made it.....so what favor is this company doing for me?????? Its no wonder that the BBB recieved 161 complaints against this company."

"On August 20th I placed an order with fye.com & (wherehouse.com-different order numbers)Both seem to be owned by Trans World Entertainment for a few pre-releases to be sent 09/09/09. the date passes, I enquired about my orders & they said sorry we didn't get enough of the item. Pre-orders are recieved by retailers before the release date....they didn't even have tthe class to notify me they defaulted on my orders.By offering me to purchase the items on the net, they obligated themselves to have & send the items when released & I obligated myself to pay upon shipment.It never happened. They broke the contract. I have spoken to a couple of dozen people who have ordered the same items as I did through other retailers & all recieved the items as stated when released. Trans world Entertainment's Fye.com & wherehouse.com are at their best the worst company I have done business with in my lifetime (Decades). I have told dozens of people I know what my experience was with them, showed them copies of my orders & e-mail received stating they cannot complete the order. Note: E-mail recieved not being able to complete order was from wherehouse.com Fye bever responded, never shipped, charged my account with nothing shipped,reversed charges when I complained. I should have checked their reviews before ordering, I didn't, I learned. I am in sales as well and whenever a conversation arises I will be sure to tell them my experience and show documentation ( I carry it with me)of my order & their response which, was my experience with them.. looking at other reviews across the net it's obvious they are NOT to be Trusted nor dependable. A contract to deliver should be a binding agreement to them as well as I, they believe they are above that. Bye Bye fye, fly fye away."

"To make a long story short, I bought an iPod Touch at FYE on 1/13/09, and submitted a rebate for it shortly thereafter, with all the pertinent materials. I checked online in a few weeks to find that my rebate was invalid. That sparked a few emails between myself and customer service at Parago, with the final conclusion being that Andy validated the rebate as it was in complete accordance with all the fine print.

Having not received the rebate, despite the rebate status on the website suggesting it should have come already, I made another attempt to contact customer service via email on 3/16. The response I received from Charlie was that my rebate was invalid because the promotion was not for my "generation" of iPod Touch. This was after the period where I could still return the Ipod.

As all the other reviewers here have said, DO NOT TRUST FYE WITH REBATES! They are crooks and more likely than not you will not get the rebate.

"DO NOT ORDER WITH FYE!!! I ordered a CD and paid extra for 2 day air (making the CD worth $16.99 cost $29.13)I even emailed them saying if they could not make delivery in the time needed to cancel my order. The order was made on the 16th and failed to arrive in time for Christmas.When I called to get a refund on the $9.98 shipping charge- I was refused by the customer service representative saying that they need 3 - 5 business days just to process the order before it is shipped. When I noted that it did not say that anywhere on their website and asked to speak to a manager I then was treated very rudely by the manager. He refused to refund the shipping cost and said couldn't show me specifically where the (ridiculous) time frame needed to process an order before it could be shipped was stated on the site & then said he did not have time to talk with me. Since a web business is only as good as their customer service (and especially their managers) I say FYE isn't worth anything...go somewhere else."

"On 2008-11-05 I ordered 2 sets of DVDs on sale, paying by PayPal. The site was supposed to create an account for me, but didn't, (maybe because I paid through PayPal instead of processing the payment directly through the website). The next day I received a shipment notification with a tracking number that didn't fit the format of any carrier I've ever heard of. I tried to get more information on my order through the website, but since it failed to create an account for me, I couldn't get any more info, including clarification on the tracking number.

2 weeks later, with no items received, I tried calling their customer service site to find out what happened to the shipment. After navigating through the menu, it sent me to a recording of a line that didn't exist, forcing me to hang up. So, I sent e-mail to their Help address. That generated a "no further action" automated response, telling me to submit my question through the website. I did that, which just sent another "no further action" automated response. It said that I could reply to it and it would go to a human. I did that and received yet a third "no further action" automated response. I called again, and was finally able to speak with someone. It seems they sent the DVDs through the US Postal Service, without a tracking number or delivery confirmation, so no way to track them. It had been 13 days since they were shipped, and the rep said to allow more time. I finally received my DVDs 28 days after ordering. The box said to inspect them immediately, because they can only be returned within 30 days of shipping. Luckily, all 6 of the DVDs were OK. Otherwise, the defective ones wouldn't have been returnable, since there was no possible way for me to watch all 6 DVDs prior to the expiration.

All in all... I got a super cheap sale price, but scary shipping with no tracking number, and horrible customer service. Unless it's one heck of a deal, I wouldn't order from them again. I wonder who would have paid the price had the items not arrived, since there was no tracking number.

"I bought a few DVD's on their BOGO promotion and FYE canceled my orders for security reason without contacting me prior to canceling. They state the following: "If necessary, our verification team will contact you within the next few days to confirm the information on your order." They don't bother to call. The DVD's were $115 and after canceling my order they jacked the price to $152. VERY poor business practice! I will not do business with FYE ever again and you should really think twice. "

"Here is what happened with my order:

I pre-ordered a 2DVD/3CD set from one of my favorite bands. I recieve an email saying they "could not get the proper authorization" for my credit card. I email customer service and recieve a robot response, no human. After a few of days, I decide to use a different card because I really want this box set. Won't accept anything from my account.

So I make a new account and the new credit card goes through just fine. I recieve three emails (aside from their DAILY spam):

1 - order confirmation
2 - shipment notification (with tracking number)
3 - order cancellation (wtf?)

The order cancellation tells me they ran out of this box set (limited run item) and my card will not be charged. Meanwhile, UPS shows my package at a processing center nearby. The package (horrible packaging, btw) showed up on my doorstep today, complete with the box set.

Getting this for free would be nice, but I have a lot of respect for the band and would like to make sure they get thier hard-earned dollars. I'll call the customer service number and see what happens.

UPDATE: Looks like my card was charged for this item, so the band will hopefully get thier money, assuming that FYE is any good at accounting.

DON'T ORDER FROM FYE. NEVER ORDER FROM FYE. If something goes wrong, there is NOTHING you can do.

4. Not refunded, no reponse via help. And the kicker?

3 EMAILS EVERY MORNING AT 4:35AM FOR THE PAST 2 MONTHS.

I call for help, and no one can do anything, not even cancel the emails. Perfect.
