"I’ve bought 4 guns from Gunbuyer.com in the last month or so and it seems to me, from my research and price comparisons, that Gunbuyer has the best prices of online new gun sellers (plus free shipping) and their selection is great. Their website is uncluttered/clean-looking, informative/helpful, and intuitive/easy to navigate. I trust Gunbuyer and go to them first."
"Best transaction experience. I was referred to gunbuyer.com by a friend and I would recommend them to anybod!!!"
"I wanted to purchase a new shotgun and Gunbuyer was the only place I could find it. It was overpriced, but if I wanted one I had to pay what they were asking. The purchase went through simple enough, unfortunately they had their credit card data base hacked and someone attempted multiple purchases on my credit card. So I had to get a new credit card from American Express to replace the one I had."
"I had been everywhere looking for a certain gun having no luck anywhere. My husband found this website and the gun I was looking for. In just over a week we had the gun and I couldn't be happier."
"Product shipped fast and had a great price. shopping with them was easy!"
"Ordering was easy and delivery was on time. The only down side was that there sever was hacked and all clients were compromised. My card started getting fraudulent charges from Columbia thanks to there breach of security. Can’t blame them for all of it but it leaves me not wanting to buy anything again from this site. "
“We completely understand the feeling of unease this incident has caused. While we were also personally victims of this crime, we feel far, far worse that our customers were affected as well. Please know that we have taken extraordinary measures to ensure this will never happen again. Our customer service department will be contacting you shortly, if there is anything else that you need assistance with please don't hesitate to ask.”
"Fast, freindly and everything as described. "
"My order arrived n time and as described."
"Got what I ordered. However, received an email from the company before I Received my ammo that started they were impacted by fraud and some of my information might have been stolen. Sure enough, my debit card gets you with fraud a day later. They said they knew about the breach in their system a while ago, yet they still took my order and allowed me to be compromised. Won’t order from them again!"
“We are very sorry to hear that you were impacted by this data breach. We attempted to get the notice out to all of our customers as quickly as possibly so they would have adequate time to cancel any cards that may have been compromised. We first received notice that our third party developer (FORIX Inc of Beaverton, Oregon) had a breach, but we did not receive notice until later (as the dates indicate in the notice) that we and our customers were also compromised. Please let us know if there's anything we can do to assist you further, and please accept my humblest apologies for the inconvenience this has caused you.”
"This is the first time I used GunBuyer.com...everything went very smoothly! I'll be back."
"Shortly after my transaction, my credit card asked if I was purchasing $6,000 worth of equipment in Asia. Gunbuyer DID send an email about the security breach, but the damage was done."
"1st time ordering a firearm online, as well as ordering from gun buyer. Somehow there was a security breach and my Info was stolen, which is unacceptable. There needs to be better security so this doesn’t happen again.
Had to call too many times with rarely an answer to verify my order was going to ship. Only moved to shipping after me calling.
"
“I am so sorry that this was your first experience ordering with us, it is not at all indicative of how we operate our business! We absolutely agree with you that the situation was unacceptable and it has since been addressed with the party that the breach occurred through (our developer, FORIX Inc of Beaverton, Oregon) and we have gone through great lengths in addition to make sure that, regardless of who we may be working with, their weaknesses will never be our weaknesses ever again. I'm happy to see that at least parts of your purchase were positive. If you choose to do business with us in the future, please reference your case ID and we will do our best to make up for your poor first experience.”
"I purchased a case of ammo here in the last couple weeks and my credit card information was stolen. The company offered nothing to remedy this other than an email saying they had a security leak. "
“We're so sorry to hear you were impacted by this breach. We certainly did try to get that notification email out as quickly as possible so as to try and mitigate any issues. Our customer service department will be reaching out to you very soon. Please let us know if there's anything further we can do for you.”
"The firearm purchase itself was fine. The horrible part was someone put an information bot on their credit card use stealing my information and charging my card in over $12,000 of fraudulent merchandise which they readily admit and emailed me about. I called on their 800 number and they weren't concerned at all or offer to do anything about it. Won't use them again. "
“That is awful, I am so very sorry to hear that you were impacted like that. Please believe that we are indeed very concerned about this incident and every single instance of our customer's being compromised. Our third party developer (FORIX Inc of Beaverton, Oregon) was chosen based on their solid reputation, and to find out that was how we were directly compromised came as quite the shock. Since the incident we have been very busy taking immediate steps to ensure that an intrusion of this nature (or any for that matter) never happens again. Please accept my humblest apologies for the trouble this has caused you. Expect to be contacted soon by our customer service department. ”
"I had no issues whatsoever with my purchase and I would use this seller again"
"So, several days after my first purchase I'd received and email with a letter attached from Gunbuyer.com stating that all my information was stolen, including my CC information from them. So, whoever've stolen my information used it to spend almost $250.00 in Klarna.com. Had to called the CC company to report my CC information stolen, get the charges reversed, get a new CC from them; now my personal information is going to be in the dark web for years to come, and somehow Gunbuyer.com believes that a letter with an "apology" is going to fix such serious situation.
Never going to buy from them again, so I'd suggest to whoever that is reading this review not to buy from gun buyer.com either."
“We're very sorry to hear that you were impacted as part of this breach. Unfortunately the breach occurred through a third party (FORIX Inc of Beaverton, Oregon) and in that particular situation, all of our front-facing security wasn't able to deter that attack. Since that incident we have taken numerous steps to ensure that a partner's lack of security will never negatively impact us in such as way in the future. Once again, please accept our sincerest apologies for the trouble this has caused you, and please be on the look out for an email from our customer service department.”
A rep from Gunbuyer.com, GunBuyer.com, has responded:
“We are so very sorry to hear that you were affected by this breach. We've always taken great pride in our site security, so to have it breached through a third party developer, well... I don't have the appropriate words. We have since taken every possible precaution to ensure that an event of this nature will never happen again. Please accept our humblest apologies that you had to deal with this, and if there is anything we can assist you with further, please don't hesitate to contact us. ”
