"I’ve bought 4 guns from Gunbuyer.com in the last month or so and it seems to me, from my research and price comparisons, that Gunbuyer has the best prices of online new gun sellers (plus free shipping) and their selection is great. Their website is uncluttered/clean-looking, informative/helpful, and intuitive/easy to navigate. I trust Gunbuyer and go to them first."
"The process was easy and "normal" to buying on-line with a very easy search for the nearest FFL distributors. What probably set Gunbuyer apart from other experiences was the communication regarding the stages of my purchase. Gunbuyer emailed me at every stage keeping me informed all the way up until the very day that my FFL distributor contacted me that the purchase had arrived and was ready for pickup. Piece of cake..."
"My identity was stolen while I was placing an order! Which was resulted as $3k loss!"
"Told me they had the product, they did not. Got my credit card info taken from them."
"Seamless transaction and received merchandise when it was promised. Would definitely recommend and actually already have! "
"The purchasing process with gunbuyer.com was very good overall. The gun was as described and I was very satisfied with my item. The only major problem I ran into was a Records bridge that resulted in my credit card being stolen and used for other fraudulent purchases. Fortunately my credit card company took care of everything but it was definitely far from ideal in that regard."
“Thank you for your review, we are very happy to hear that at least part of your purchase experience was good. Far from ideal is a nice way to put it regarding the breach. It's hard to express via a computer how deeply sorry we are that this situation affected you, though. I assume you received the email explaining the incident and that the breach occurred through a third party developer (FORIX Inc of Beaverton, Oregon). FORIX is a very reputable, US based company and frankly we were awestruck that they were hacked. Since we were notified we have taken great measures to ensure that not only is our own security still perfectly sound, but the potential lack of security of a third party will never negatively effect us again in the future.”
"Easy, convenient, great job!"
"Excellent customer service, supper fast delivery ,will be a return customer. "
"It was very easy to buy a gun with this company. It was a simple and easy process to pick it up at the location that it was shipped to. I am very happy with their service."
"They notified me of a data beach shortly after my credit card number was stolen. Their notification said they were aware of the breach before my order was placed. So they knew they had been breached and continued taking orders for multiple days. Can you spell Class Action Lawsuit? "
“First, please accept our apologies for any trouble this breach has caused you, we strive for the best customer service and this experience was anything but a good representation of how we operate our business. Our notification stated that we were first informed of our third party development company's breach, and then later notified that we had also been affected due to that breach. We absolutely did not at any time, during the period the site was compromised, willingly or knowingly allow orders to be processed. Please let us know if there is any way we can assist you further.”
"My information was compromised "
“Please accept our most sincere apologies for this incident. We experienced a security breach that occurred via a third party developer (FORIX Inc of Beaverton, Oregon) and got the notices out to customers as quickly as we could. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do to assist you.”
"This was my first experience with Gunbuyer.com. The ammunition I purchased was rather pricey, but it's expensive everywhere right now. The ammunition was shipped and arrived in a reasonable time and I was happy with that part of the transaction.
Unfortunately, two days after receiving my shipment, I received an email informing me that my name, address and credit card information had been compromised by their website. Fortunately, the email I received was timely enough that I was able to cancel the card and get a new one. Obviously not an intentional act by Gunbuyer.com, but that doesn't make it likely that I'll use them again. I expect better safeguards from any online purchases. And, given that my information was compromised through their website, I would expect a more aggressive notification. Had the email I received been dumped into a spam folder, I never would have seen it.
In all, the purchase was fine. However, the compromised credit card information will likely deter me from using Gunbuyer.com again."
“We're very happy to know that the email was received and action was able to be taken before any fraudulent purchases were able to be made. We have always taken our security very seriously and do not store your credit card information at all, but unfortunately criminals are always coming up with new and inventive ways to get around security measures. Our own security measures that were in place had always done the trick, but in this particular instance the intrusion occurred through our 3rd party developer (FORIX Inc of Beaverton, Oregon). Since being notified we have taken extraordinary measures to ensure that this sort of situation never happens again. Please accept my humblest apologies that this ended up being your experience with us, this is not at all an accurate representation of how we conduct our business. If we can assist you further, please give us a call.”
"I have been buying from you for several years and have always trusted that you keep my data secure. My latest purchase of two handguns resulted in my CC info being stolen. Luckily my bank flagged the nearly $3,000 in charges as fraudulent. However, I have almost all of my recurring charges tied to that lost CC. So, I spent hours getting all the services like cell phone, utility companies for two properties, auto insurance, life insurance, internet, etc. all moved to my new card. I recognize that the data loss was with one of your vendors, but it still cost me greatly. So, next time, I may think twice before my purchase with GunBuyer.com."
“We are so very sorry to hear that you were affected in this incident, and you have my sympathy - I know full well what a pain it is to have to update all that payment information and I hate that you had to go through the headache, especially since it involved us. You are absolutely correct, you are only as good as your weakest link and since the breach occurred we have taken extraordinary measures to ensure this sort of intrusion will never happen again. Please be on the look out for an email from our customer service department, and if there is anything else we can do to assist you, please let us know. ”
"They were easygoing and kept me in the loop as a new online purchaser. I was concerned of non-delivery given current market conditions, but all orders came in flawless, intact, with quality and discrete packaging! I just placed a third order and look forward to continued business in the years to come!"
"Really, I have to say more? Weeks updating accounts because my cc number was stolen from GunBuyers. Not a word from them though... I had to contact them. Nice proactive customer service, don't tell the customers you had a breech, let them find out for themselves."
“First, we are terribly sorry to hear that you were involved in this breach, we strive for great service in all respects and are saddened that you had to experience this. In regards to our response, letters were sent out via email to notify the affected customers within one day of us being notified by our third party developer (FORIX Inc of Beaverton, Oregon - the company from which the breach occurred) that we and our customers had been affected. Again, please accept our apologies for the trouble this caused and let us know if there is anything we can do to assist you further.”
"Someone got my credit card numbers so I had to cancel my card . And still disputing the charges..not good."
“We are so sorry to hear that you were affected by this intrusion. I truly hate knowing that we were in anyway involved in something that negatively impacted you, as the foundation of our business is good customer service. We have since gone through great lengths to ensure that not only is our personal security as good as it can be, but the potential lack of security with any third party vendors, as in this case, will never negatively impact us again. Again, I'm sorry that this was your experience. If there is anything we can do to assist you further, please don't hesitate to contact us.”
A rep from Gunbuyer.com, GunBuyer.com, has responded:
“We are so very sorry to hear that you were impacted like this. Unfortunately a third party developer (FORIX Inc. of Beaverton, Oregon) was compromised and the intruders gained access to us via them. We have gone to great lengths implementing new security measures to ensure this situation never occurs again. I do very much hope that your Credit Card or Bank was able to address the fraudulent charge(s) in an expedient manner. Please let me know if we can be of any assistance.”
