Impossible Order Cancellation

"Placed an order after hours. I decided to cancel the order; the only way to cancel my order was by calling. I called HauteLook 10 minutes after the order was placed due to their two hour cancellation period to try and cancel the order. The message said they were closed. I then called them first thing in the morning and waited 40mins on hold; they told me they could not cancel the order due to the fact it was after their two hour order cancelation period. How am I supposed to cancel an order within a two hour window if HauteLook is not open?"

Unresponsive customer service and SLOW SLOW SLOW return system

" Was going to buy a pair of Ecco shoes on sale, and called Hautelook prior to buying, as the price was .03 under their $100 minimum purchase to qualify for free shipping. They agreed to the free shipping, and sent me an email to that effect - all well and good. It had to be in the form of a shipping "refund," as their online ordering system had no way to render the free shipping at .03 less than the minimum. Their own emails stated the refund would be "processed" in 3-5 days.

Of course, I got charged the shipping, and waited and waited - no refund. I responded to the emails from their customer service dept. - no responses at all to multiple emails from me. Finally, I was able to get someone on their chat line to provide the refund. OK.

The shoes were too large. I used Hautelook's provided system for return shipping at a fee of $6 - OK, reasonable. It took the package some 10 days to get back to them; tracking shows delivered. No refund yet. Went back to the chat line: 7 to 10 MORE days before refund is granted.

What a hassle! Back to Zappos for me. Customer service's lack of response to their own customers indicates they may have a larger problem somewhere. Not worth the bother to order from them again, at least for me.

Amazing

"Although they said the shipping would take 2-3 weeks, the package arrived in just five days. I thought it wasn't going to be here for 08/04 but I'm beyond happy that it's here. My husband loves watches and I think he will never take this one off. Can't wait to see his face when he opens his birthday gift. "

First & Last Hautelook Experience!!!!

"I placed an order on 4/7 for an umbrella, it was a project for my daughters class. I wasn't sent a confirmation email. The amount pended in my account until 4/10. I talked to a lady & she told me that they ship it out 1-3 days AFTER the charge, so I asked her if I would get it by 4/14 because my daughter's project was due 4/15. She told me that it'll take 3-7 days after the charge goes through. I asked her if I could cancel the order & I'd go find another umbrella at a store. She told me that I couldn't cancel it until after the item was shipped, But that didn't seem right. So I waited until it shipped, which was 4/12, talked to another lady & she told me that I'd have to return the product when I received it & couldn't cancel it because it was already shipped. I received it today, 4/19, the umbrella has 2 big rips in it. Now I have to eat the shipping & send it back. I will NEVER shop here again & my friends won't either!!!"

"It's amazing how little they care about customer loyalty/satisfaction. After multiple purchases over several years with very few complaints (minus the snails pace shipping) I have been burned beyond forgiveness. Placed an order this week, immediately realized the second I pressed "complete order" that my shipping address didn't update with my billing address. Immediately called customer service, put on hold, was told if I input my number they would call me when I was at the front of the line. Lo and behold no call back. Called next morning- too late to change address, wait until you receive shipping notification, call again and they'll have UPS reroute in transit. Call AGAIN, with shipping notification in hand. Oh too bad, we shipped it with USPS- you're out of luck. NOT a single apology throughout, no offer to help or refund, despite the fact that they are shipping a box cross country from where I currently live. And no option at any time to cancel my order- is that even legal???? Companies like this are why I pay for AMex, I am reporting this and will have my credit card company dispute all charges. In the meantime, I'll be telling everyone I know to stay far away- if it seems too good to be true it is. "

"2 orders in 3 months, BOTH major screw ups. Seems this company deals with outside vendors and once they take your money you become the mercy of companies who are overseas and delivery dates, proper packaging so items arrive in good condition, refunds and communication are not something to be expected. Customer service are sweet and entirely useless. I spent more money in time and cell usage then this company is worth. Never again and they can take their $25 sympathy credit and "I'm sorries" and shove it. Joss and Main, Esty, a million other websites, here I come"

"This was my first time ever making a purchase on hautelook and the reason how I heard from them was from youtubers. Well check this out I ordered some throw pillows from them ...one was a chevron glittery print one which looked like there was actual glitter on the pillow or sequins and the 2nd pillow was one that had names on it like Tiffany and co, Audrey, fashion etc. I received both of these and wow a picture can be real deceiving. So the chevron glitter one does not look or resemble glitters at all oh and the fashion pillow one has different wording on that pillow then the other one. So I'm upset at this point i remember the pillow I wanted said Tiffany on it (hence thats why I bought it) but know it says Paris Chic style on it instead. How weird is that! I will never make a purchase from them again. So now I need to see what they can do about it because they were final sale! lindsay.cowaan"

"I made a purchase on 9/7/14 and was charged the same day for items to be delivered between 9/23-9/29. When 9/29 comes around, nothing arrived. Finally one item arrived 10/3 and the 2nd item 10/14. In between, I call and email customer service. There is no response to my emails and the customer service rep guaranteed she would provide a status on 10/10. I never heard from her. On 10/16, I receive a message the 3rd item is no longer available, mean while they have had my money for 5 weeks. THIS PLACE IS A SCAM"

"Wonderful store and great, quality merchandise. I have been ordering from HauteLook for the last year, and only had one item arrive in less than perfect condition. Of course they paid return shipping and gave me a refund for that item. But almost everything is high quality at a great price. When and if you do have a problem, they have the best customer service of any of the sites. They have live chat and handle it with courtesy and respect. I have used several of these sites that have daily deals, and Hautelook is my absolute favorite as far as quality and reliability. RueLaLa is a close second. I've also ordered from Ideeli -- they shipped really fast, and I liked the price / quality of what was ordered. Two sites that I would NOT recommend are Modnique and Zulily. Zulily takes forever to ship, and the quality is not very good. About half of the items I have ordered from there are defective. Modnique is the absolute worst. They have totally ripped me off. I ordered 3 items, and 2 arrived with defects (the first, a coat, had a huge stain on it -- the 2nd, a replacement coat, had a burn in it. I finally got a refund, but it took 2 months. And they didn't want to refund the stained coat, saying that they saw nothing wrong with it. It was so clearly stained!) Now, I am waiting on a pair of shoes I ordered from Modnique with the credit they finally gave me for the stained coat (jerks wouldn't credit my credit card). I ordered the shoes 6 weeks ago, and they were supposed to be shipped no later than 2 weeks ago. We'll see if I ever get them. I will never order anything from them again!"

"I have placed several orders through HauteLook and so far I am happy with all of my purchases. Some unfortunately do take longer to arrive. None of the items and orders that I placed were time sensitive anyway so it wasn't a problem. I will most definitely continue to shop this site and I recommend this all the time."

"I've placed six orders since Nov. Including one return.
5 of the 6 shipped within a couple of days. One item took a week and a half to ship, though. The return process also took a bit of time to process, but I did get my credit so I was happy.

Overall, I'm satisfied, especially considering the discounts. I got a Hawke and Co jacket which I see at Macy's for $300 for $59.

"I have ordered a couple times from HauteLook and the first two times went great. After those though it started going downhill. A sale went on ELF mineral makeup but when I recieved it the packaging was demolished! I thought maybe it was the post office's fault and it was only 16.00 (which included shipping) so I wasn't that upset. The next order though was disgusting! I purchased a BUILT NY iPad case and after waiting almost an entire month to receive the case when I opened the box up the packaging was covered in something brown and sticky! I think someone must have been having lunch while packing up my order because it looked like soda had been spilt all over everything! Even the packaging slip enclosed was covered in the mess. When I tried to contact HauteLook no one seems to have the time to respond to emails or phone calls. Since no returns were accepted on the item and I cannot get customer service to bother answering any questions I guess I'm stuck with this. So basically it is too disgusting for me to touch, because I can't be sure of what exactly is all over it, so its dumpster bound. What a waste of money!"
