Customer service blamed me for failing adhesive

"I ordered a new LCD screen from them for $95. Less than a month after installing the screen, it started to separate from the phone. The adhesive on the screen must have been bad, because separation only occurs when the phone is placed face down.

When I emailed iFixit about the problem, it took them at least 2 days to reply to most of my emails, sometimes longer. I asked them to ship me a replacement adhesive. First, they suggested that the screen was separating because of battery swelling. Then they offered me a $5 coupon, even though the cost of new adhesives would be $11. Finally, they told me "the part requires additional adhesives to complete the installation and without those adhesives, the device is unable to be held together with just the screen adhesive". Why would a brand new LCD screen come pre-installed with adhesive if the adhesive weren't meant to hold the screen to the phone?

iFixit doesn't stand behind their products, and I won't be purchasing anything from them again.

Wow...simple iPhone battery replacement

"Wow...rarely am I so easily surprised in a great way. Rec'd the replacement battery kit in 3 days...followed the printed and video instructions available...did the 'work' and within 30 minutes had an iPhone 6 that was working as good as new.
All this for $24.95 and they even included some 'specialty' tools to make the job easier.
I've bookmarked their site as one of my favorites...I'll be back ;-)

Shady business practice

"I should have looked at the reviews before ordering a replacement battery for my MacBook Pro. What a bad experience! I ordered this item on the 19th of December 2017 and it hasn't still arrived (January 8th, 2018).
On January 1st, I was informed that "we believe the delay on your package may be due to USPS having trouble with battery regulations that were passed on January 1st (2017)". So why send a shipment in the first place through USPS, when there is known issues?
The sales representative Kalan Sharpe offered me to send my order once more, this time with UPS, everything free of charge of course! He even added that "since you are also in California, it shouldn't take more than a few days to reach you." Begrudgingly I accepted.
But the best was still to come: on January 5th, I received this email: "thanks for your patience! I'm just wanting to provide you with an update regarding the replacement we sent out. As it turns out, we ran out of stock of these Retina Battery Fix Kits right as I setup your replacement. It will likely be a few weeks before more are ready to send out. I'm hoping that's not too much of an inconvenience for you, but I know you were hoping to get along with your repairs sooner rather than later." Seriously! Seems fishy enough!
I refused of course and requested an immediate refund. I haven't since then heard anything from them, and I doubt I will. I will probably wait a few more days (the shipment delayed since Christmas seems to have at last be moved somewhere else, but the delivery date is still unknown) before putting a claim with PayPal.
Just be aware: it's not a good business to deal with. Moreover, according to what I read, the quality of this replacement battery doesn't seem very good. Time will tell....

What a load of crap!

"I ordered a screwdriver kit and replacement battery for my iPhone 6 and although delivery to the UK was quick, the screwdriver kit didn't fit the screws on my iPhone 6 and the battery is down to 83% capacity after just two months of use.

Might as well of ordered a cheap battery of eBay!

Terrible expierence

"Wires came in wrong place and came broken. When i asked for a refund they told me they can’t even though i have 30 days for a refund and it was only 15 days. They guy i was speaking to through email was rude. There was no number I could use to directly talk to someone. I will never order from them again terrible website to get your iPhone screen "

"very dissatisfied im buy iPhone 6s Replacement Battery before 2month
I paid for a priority shipping and I received the parcel in a month? although I paid more!!
I changed the battery and It works good one week =(
and does not work anymore charging 2% and stops
stay old battery in that case...

"brought my brand new broken ipad here. said they could fix the screen. now NOTHING WORKS ON IT. Im such an idiot for not reading these reviews first. I have no idea if it can be fixed from here. Plus gave me 1/2 off accessories when i got something fixed turns out they charge double for EVERYTHING in the store."

Good Product

"I ordered the iphone 5c replacement battery and tool kit. Package arrived in a few days. Replacing the battery was straight forward and fairly easy. Hardest part is getting old battery out of phone as it is glued in. The online instructions are easy to follow and visually easy to understand. Phone is working fine now with new battery."

Well, the instructions were good...

"Ordered a earpiece speaker replacement kit for my iPhone 6. Everything came well packaged and the instructions were great. Only one problem - the part was defective. I entered a support ticket and received only a form letter response back assuring me that they ‘test every part before shipping’ and that my part was fine. They blamed me and suggested that I used ‘poor electrostatic handling’ procedures. I have been repairing printers and computers for over 20 years - I think I have that part down. Since my reply, iFixit has never responded to my ticket - and it’s been almost a week now. So consider yourself warned - I just ordered a part through another vendor and will use their tools. They do not stand behind their products "

Poor Packaging - Missing Item

"Ordered a extra screwdriver handle. They packaged it in a plain paper bag and it tore a hole right through and was not received. Scheduled a replacement and it has taken 2 weeks and not arrived. Very slow shipping overall and some packages require extra postage fees, which they do warn about but in this day and age where most websites cover this it should not happen. "
