"I ordered a battery replacement kit for my google pixel xl and the tools they send are worthless. I ended up making my own tools to do the job after breaking my display. The tools they send you are blunt and weak and will not work (cheap plastic). The "Iopener" is a joke. I ended up snapping about a 1cm piece of razor blade off with a pliers and holding it with a small vice grip to pry my screen up (after breaking my screen with the plastic tool sent to me). I used a blow dryer to loosen the adhesive, worked WAY better than the stupid heating pad they send. Don't be afraid to apply plenty of heat. I then used a thin guitar pick to continue loosening the display (works better than the tools they send) with the help of a playing card. Again, I used my razor shard/vice grip tool and guitar pics to loosen the plastic piece clipped beneath. The hex bit they send is fine, but I had a set anyways (basic bit set from walmart). I have a new battery now which seems to work okay, but I have a cracked display due to the poor tools and misleading directions. Should have just sent it in. DO NOT DO THIS YOURSELF TO SAVE 30-40 DOLLARS UNLESS YOU ARE QUITE HANDY AND PATIENT. ALSO, SAVE YOURSELF THE MONEY AND JUST BUY A BATTERY, THEIR FIX IT KIT IS A JOKE. "
"got a replacement battery for my early 2011 MacBook pro after my original battery finally gave out. delivery was fast--2 days, maybe?--installation couldn't have been easier, followed the ifixit guide, had the computer back up and running in maybe 30 minutes tops, and that includes some other work under the hood (see below).
now that it's installed, though, i'm not sure what's up. it first showed 7% power after installation. and then, like a minute later, it showed 2%. then plugged it in and let it charge to 100%, which took the entire day. like, 8 hours. it charges verrrry slowly. i've tried it with a couple different 85W apple chargers, still takes forever. discharge is certainly better than the old battery, but the charging is so slow. maybe that's normal? i don't know.
also, the charge percentage indicator is all over the map. this could be an internal MacBook thing, but my percentage sometimes jumps around. it seems to land on 7% a lot--and then stay there for a long time, and then suddenly drop to 2% or jump to 18%. since i started typing this review, it went from 100% to 93%. i tried resetting the SMC once already, perhaps i'll do that again.
honestly, it's been so long since i had a battery that wasn't past its EOL, i don't know if what i've got now is normal or not. it's better, i guess. so that's good.
side note: while i had the thing open, i took out the optical drive, and replaced it with a second SSD (having previously replaced the stock HDD with an SSD). super easy if you follow the ifixit guide (AND READ THE COMMENTS!). took about 30 minutes. when i booted up, the computer told me the drive wasn't properly formatted. i used disk utility to reformat, and since then, it's worked like a charm. bonus: fewer moving parts! and it's a tiny bit lighter! starts up in a flash.
i'll keep an eye on the performance of this new battery, see how it goes."
"When ever my Clients see my kit, they always impressed!"
"It was very easy to follow the instructions for replacing battery and the kit was well organized with everything needed to do the repair."
"Great instructions, correct quality part, and all the tools to do the job. I was able to successfully fix my phone even though it was a moderately difficult procedure and all is good! Thanks!"
"Initially I was skeptical it would work. I’m seriously un-handy, I’ve never held a pentalobe, but thanks to the tutorial the operation was like a walk in park. And well worth the time, money and effort! For some reason I had to to erase the internal SSD-disk, and create a bootable external disk, before reinstalling... Cheers!

"I changed out my logic board following the ifixit steps. I received the board prompt considering it was free shipping. It took about an hour to install, thermal compound is very difficult to apply. After all cables and ribbon connections are back in place I recommend a small glass of Hennessy Brandy before turning the power back on. MacBook was slower than expected to power up, but it's running like new. Overall experience was excellent."
"This may not be ifixit's fault but I received a battery replacement for my MOTO Z (XT1650). As it is known this phone has a battery problem and I experienced draining battery and random boot-ups after 6 months I purchased the phone. So I replaced the battery and it started doing it again after 2 days. ifixit was great in being on time, providing guidance and all. But the product itself is probably faulty so it's useless. I just wanted people to know that this is a possibility "
"From the beginning of the process of choosing the product to receiving the product, I've had nothing but a phenomenal experience with Ifixit. I was able to unboxing and use the pro repair kit right out of the box to replace the glass screen on my Asus q553u laptop with ease. The only thing that I had a problem with was there was no instruction book or a detailed book that explains what each peace was and some examples of what you might use said tool for. Other than that it's a great product and would recommend this tool kit for anyone that is into repairing electronic."
"I ordered the one plus 3 screen and it turned out that when I previously took my phone in to get fixed, the guy used a non-oem part on my phone. I didn't realize until I disassembled my phone that I needed the screen + assembly not just the screen. Customer service was quick to start a return on my order and despite USPS being delayed with shipping me the new screen, it finally arrived and I was able to fix my phone. First time using this site, I would highly recommend. "
"When the HDD went on my 2011 iMac , I was unsure if I should tackle upgrading the HDD with a SSD , but the kit and the instructions where top notch !
That iMac is supper fast now, I love it !!
The process went pretty smooth , except some of those connectors are really damn small !!
When I first took the kit out of the box , I was pretty upset that iFix it forget to send me all the tools ...
Then I popped off the end of the driver and there they were !
Half way though the job , I noticed the cardboard sign that said " Other bits are under the cap "
I am going to upgrade my 2017 iMac with an SSD next ! "
"Purchased a GripStick Headphone Plug Extraction Tool from them that I saw a lot of great reviews for. Skipping to the conclusion, I received the tool and read the instructions and even watched how others used the tool but it just didn't work. Wouldn't recommend."
"With the precision tools included in this Pro Tech Toolkit, I was able to dismantle and repair laptops and phones like never before. What took me hours before, fumbling with tape and assorted tools, now takes minutes with suction cup, plastic tools that don't scratch glass/plastic and magnetic bits.
Thank you IFIXIT"
"I bought a replacement screen & gasket/tape, for a Google Pixel2. No complaints w/ screen, tape/gasket DOES NOT HOLD. not pleased...looking for alternative tape or adhesive....eerrrgh!"
"The battery was bought in July and it didn't last a year until it started expanding and raising the phone's LCD. I am not sure how this is possible because iFixit provides quality parts and I cannot believe this happened. The phone is unusable and I have to get a new one now. "
