"I'd ordered from iFixit before and had a good experience last time. This time was no different. I put the screen on and only half of the screen worked at first. I took the phone apart and reattached a ribbon that I hadn't quite secured fully the first time. Now it works perfectly and my daughter is happy that her phone is back to normal."

"My wife and I both have 1Phone 6 phones and were thinking of upgrading our phones but the prices right now seem a little high. So I bought one battery kit with tools and one plain battery + the adhesive strips. Taking my time on my phone and following the directions I had mine up and running in around 40 minutes. Only issue I had was one of the adhesive strips broke off underneath the battery so gently prying it out consumed probably another 10 or 15 minutes. I replaced her battery in about 20 minutes, I decided not to disconnect the screen from her phone and took extra care to gently remove and replace the battery. We took both phones and ran a couple of long You Tube videos on them to get the battery down below 10% so we could charge them all the way up to 100% to calibrate the batteries. Both phones are working great and the battery life is noticeably better; in fact once I thought the battery percentage was stuck, but it wasn't. Best $25 I spent in a long time. Had I known it really was that easy to do I would have done it sooner. The help guides and customer tips are spot on. The kit had everything one needs; nothing is left out. I cleaned the glass on both phones with alcohol along with the suction cup. I think some of the comments about having the suction cup come loose a couple of times is probably more a function of the surfaces not being super clean. "

"I do IT work for a local PR firm and have been looking for a nice kit of tools to use for working on laptops. I've always had to improvise with tools that are less than helpful. So I decided to search the web for kits that come with high quality tools to use for laptop breakdown. My search brought me to iFixit.

I was amazed at all the incredible tools that iFixit offers. Most everything they offer, are exactly the tools I've been looking for. The high quality plastic case openers are superb for the work I do. I bought the pro kit. Love it! The kit comes with case openers, anti-static wrist strap, a beautiful high quality screw driver kit and an assortment of other tools to assist with intricate laptop surgery. Everything I need, and the case is held closed with magnets. How cool is that? I think in the future, I'm also going to purchase the Business Toolkit as well, as it includes even more tools to assist in what I do.

"I’ve replaced batteries using ifixit parts on iPhone 3 (2x), 5 (3x) and this was the first for my iPhone 7. Battery installed nicely. Tested it before closing. There needs to be a video on setting the seal in place. Somewhere between testing and closure the shorter screen connector tore right off the screen. I can’t reiterate enough that your video should say ... do not open this like a book and let the screen lay flat open to 180 degrees with the screen connectors connected. 120 degrees max with a diagram. The shorter connector is designed with a sharp angled turn where tension forces go to infinite stresses and cause it to tear.
A new screen was ordered and expressed mailed to arrive on Tuesday but arrived Wednesday.
I ordered a seal however the new screen had a seal packaged in it. Had I known I wouldn’t have ordered the extra seal. Nonetheless the new screen seal appears to be too small by 1.5mm in length and .5mm in width. Shrinkage? The packaged seal that came with the screen had actually adhered to the packaging. While sliding it out it actually pulled the seal out from between the blue plastic damaging it useless.
Going into settings the ifixit battery lacks the communication to the iPhone battery status and after several drain and charge cycles still has a dash for the status and still says “service”. "

"I went to replace the battery, followed every step to a t and ended up with a phone that works, but that has weird purple lines all over the display and I can basically only use if I use the Bluetooth in my car. Some things are better left to the professionals and this is one case where I should have paid the extra $30 to have it done at the apple store. "
