"I received the order on time. The product did not work. Very disappointed. I was sceptic on ordering this product. So have went with my gut feelings. Lost $25. No warranty that product works. "
"Thanks to the great instructions and the tools that came with the new SSD I was able to complete the repair successfully in the estimated time. It was delicate work at times. For the iMac the trick was getting the screen off. The glass is thin at the edges & if you don't cut through all the adhesive …. crack! I was very careful especially along the bottom edge. When you use the cutting wheel it leaves a tiny bit of adhesive at the bottom edges of the glass. I used the other tools to cut through the rest and the screen came off very easily. As long as your are careful you will be successful with this repair. "
"This was an great product! I work just like it should and saved my son’s iPad! Removed the broken headphone jack quickly! "
"Taking out the case and battery was harder than expected. Batteries was the hardest because the original glue broke off. I used the black spider to slowly pry open the battery and reach in there with tweezers to pull battery. Also used a hairdryer to the back to warm up the glue. I was worried that the battery case would tear open but it didn’t."
"Ordered a 2012 Mac battery replacement and the product and the instructions were perfect! I had my mac up and running like it was brand new. The walkthrough warned it was a "difficult" repair, but with the photo guide, it felt impossible to mess up! THANKS YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST!"
"it was easy to complete. plus lot of extras came with battery. will buy again."
"Originally, dismayed that iFixit didn't have that the white read glass for my Google Pixel, I ordered the black one. In the end, I'm quite happy with the my purchased. Having the black rear has now made my phone unique of all other Pixels. Just make sure you don't remove the adhesive from the finger sensor. The adhesive that comes on the glass doesn't cover the sensor and will allow the sensor to move around a little. Other than that, I'm quite happy with this replacement"
"I just needed to install a new hard drive on my mid-2012 Macbook Pro and iFixit provided the proper tools and SSD for me! The instructions were clear and easy to understand and only took me an hour to replace my hard drive."
"This screen was very easy to replace. The optional adhesive strip is a must. 2 previous screens from Amazon had both failed. It's nice that Moto and iFixit offer OEM parts. Thank you. "
"I have repaired dozens of iPhones but this was my first iPhone 8. The delay in having the parts available to the public was frustrating for the whole industry.
The iFixit website design made it very easy to make my purchase (iPhone 8 LCD Screen and Digitizer Full Assembly / White / Fix Kit) without any confusion - though having a Verizon iPhone 8 automatically means I have the A1863 model (which could've been explained a little better but wasn't a big problem to overcome at all).
Shipping was relatively fast (via USPS) and free... It even came with tracking!
The parts were packaged very nicely and I received everything I needed to do the job.
I was surprised by the fact that the new display came with the front-facing camera, ear speaker, and microphones already attached! Which means I did not have to transfer these from the old display - a cumbersome and time-consuming task on a good day.
The video Repair Guide showed two parts which were not included in the kit I purchased. I already own a heat gun (purchased at Harbor Freight for $8.99) so not having the iOPENER was not a big deal for me. The kit did include a Suction Handle (Item code: IF145-361-1). The handle was very sturdy (unlike kits from other companies which only have a ring or paperclip) and aided in holding the display open while disconnecting the cables. So not having the iSCLACK wasn't a big deal either - though I would love to have one of those at some point.
The Repair Guide video was not very helpful. I ended up using another video guide from a competitor (with higher prices) which showed the full replacement of the iPhone 8 screen from start to finish and included warnings and testing tips to make sure the job was done properly.
Overall, I had a great experience with iFixit and will continue to use them for parts and tools in the future."
"The tools worked as promised and the instructions were clear. The "open-source" nature of the instructions (with embedded questions) was very helpful. Shipping was a bit slow, but I placed my order over the holidays and I've grown accustomed to Amazon's delivery abilities."
"First time customer and very happy with results! Doubled the memory in my 2010 MacBook Pro. Instructions were very clear and it only took 5 minutes using the tools provided. Would have given 5 stars but disappointed in the high cost of shipping and delay in delivery. "
"Amazing! Everything worked as promised. Tools, parts, and repair guides were exceptional. Bought screen and battery replacement for two phones. Both are now working like new!"
"Accurate description, quick shipment, just what I needed for my Apple Watch project."
"Hi, everything was going ok, until y got to the Y000 screws, the first one went out ok, but the second one was impossible to unscrew. I tried it several times but without luck. I had to close it and see an expert the other day. Actually he told me that when the screws are new sometimes they need extra force but not so much because you can sweep the head of the screw. So he unscrew it with a Y000 a little bigger. It went out well and we could replace the screen.
You should include the other size of the Y000 screwdriver, for this problems, because it’s very normal to have this one.
The screen it’s ok, it’s beautiful and works very good. But I noticed the lack of intensity of the colors of he screen. You should try to include a Retina display for this iPhones.
On the other hand it’s ok."
