"Consistently whenever I order packages from iFixIt, I receive an email with a USPS tracking number. But that tracking number NEVER updates. Their site gives excuses like "sometimes the carrier gets rushed and packages don't get scanned" but that's a blatant lie. Every USPS package I get has tracking that works fine EXCEPT if it's from iFixIt. Yes - even if the item contains batteries it tracks just fine from other sellers. Maybe it's time for iFixIt to try using a different carrier. "

"Have a 'vintage' (2010) Macbook air with a dead charge port - Apple no longer carries the parts for this and after searching online for about a day, finally found it on your U.S. site. Ordered it and by some form of magic it was delivered to my door less than 24 hours after placing the order - I'm in Canada so that was amazing! "The suction cup provided with the iPad Mini digitizer replacement kit is seriously weak and underpowered. It came off almost as soon as I applied it to the surface of the iPad digitizer screen. I thoroughly cleaned the surface of my iPad mini digitizer too, but the suction cup still could not make a solid grip. I ended up having to use some metal jimmies and a suction cup purchased from the local hardware store instead to break the initial seal between the digitizer and the adhesive factory seal. Once I was able to break that seal, the rest of the kit was great. For the price of this kit, I expect a seriously high-quality suction cup!!!

On the positive side, I really like the iOpener for heating up and loosening the adhesive. The rest of the tools were great too, the plastic picks, screwdriver, etc. The only problem is the underwhelming suction cup provided with kit. Sadly, this is the most important part because without being able to pull up on the digitizer, there is little hope for sliding the picks or jimmies in place and removing the digitizer.

I suspect iFixit just bought the cheapest suction cup they could find to maximize their profit on the kit. What a shame! A $2 part at the hardware store was infinitely better. Shame on you, iFixit!!!"

"The battery looks like it has been abused pretty good. I'm afraid to even put it in my phone. The plastic casing on the battery appears to have been stretched out and fits loosely around the cells like the battery has expanded and shrunk back. This can't be good. There is also a pretty significant dent in the back of the battery that is concerning."

"I'm a former Apple Genius and have heard a lot about iFixit over the years and finally had a chance to purchase their iPhone battery replacement kit for my 5S. I'm really impressed with the price and what comes with the kit. Although I still have all my tech tools, it was nice to have everything one would need to replace internal components in one neat box - they even included a new set of hex screws for the outer enclosure. The instructions were clear, however, having had Apple Certified Training, it's hard to not comment on a few missed steps, namely discharging static electricity before working on sensitive electronics. That said, I found the iFixit forum to be of great help and the battery works as promised. I've ordered another battery for my MacBook Air and will be reviewing that after installation. You can't go wrong with these guys! Cheers! "
