"I had some serious challenges getting a new 480GB SSD installed on my 2015 MacBook. First off, my MacBook didn't recognise the new SSD, because the new SSD required macOS High Sierra as a bare minimum macOS installation to allow the MacBook to identify it after installation. And my MacBook was still on El Capitan. This required me to buy a '128GB Apple Factory Original Solid-State Drive' to get High Sierra Installed. Subsequently, I was able to successfully install my new 480GB SSD. All along the way, despite any sometimes highly frustrated correspondence from my end, the OWC support desk continued to support me in a courteous manner and help me take the necessary steps to get issue fixed.
In short, I highly recommend everyone to buy their SSDs from OWC. Not just for the quality of their products, but for the high quality service as well.
