"I called about a video card, and asked if it had VIVO, they said yes. So I ordered, it did not have VIVO, which i returned and they only gave me a portion of my money back, not a full refund. because they made a mistake, I expected a full refund. The customer service is bad, and not im out money. They are a company u cant afford to do business with. "
"I don't think I will buy here again. The website is horrible. The shopping cart automatically doubled the order (ordered qty 2 not qty 1 as I had specified) and resulted in several phone calls to get this fixed. The product disk that shipped with the product was bad. I think buyers should go elsewhere. The vendor was also a bit smug when it came to accepting the fact that they were at fault."
"Order confirmation email claimed that there would be a shipment confirmation email within 2 days. As shipping address was in another city, it was important that I knew when to expect item so it could be scheduled for pickup. 2 days AFTER delivery the email came stating "item has shipped"...I had to drive 80 miles extra to pick up the item, when had I known it was there I could have picked it up before I left town earlier that day. Modern professional courtesy would be to email a tracking#, but at least confirm immediately when shipped instead of days later...there wasn't a weekend or holiday involved...there is no excuse for this. I have read other's reviews with similar complaints. Clients count on me and hopefully become return customers...I will not count on z-buy again :("
"Good experience, as always. We have ordered from this seller numerous times with good results. The item was as expected and was shipped in a timely manner."
"I recieved everything I ordered with just a couple of days with out paying a lot for shippping...or the items for that matter. Great prices and quick delivery. Everything seems to be working great! Thanks again!"
"This place was fantastic. I originally ordered 2 items by mistake (2 video cards when I meant to just order 1). I emailed and explained, they emailed back and said it was fixed and I had my card the next day! Great place, would definately buy again."
"Order arrived very quick, second time i ordered something and arrived promptly and securely wrapped but i dont like to see some of the comments that i see here. Looks like they're slipping a little which is a surprise. No excuse for the first 5 comments that i read. But i never had any problems."
"On October 20, 2004 I purchased two eVGA 6800GT video cards from Z-Buy.com by credit card. The cost for each video card was $399.00 for a total of $798.00. After installing both of the video cards in identical computers, one started exhibiting signs of failure by randomly placing colored artifacts all over the screen. This was first noted after leaving the computers on overnight and in the morning finding one locked up with the screen full of colored artifacts.
I started having major problems whenever I played a game like Doom3 or Farcry. The video would blank out and freeze up the computer with random colored artifacts all over the screen. This started happening more frequently, to the point where the artifacts showed up before XP’s desktop was shown after booting up.
As I noted earlier, I had purchased 2 identical cards from Z-Buy. The second card which was installed in the other computer was running perfectly. I ran it through 3DMark03’s benchmark, played Doom3 for hours, and left it on the entire weekend with no problems. To isolate the fault, I took the good card, which was running fine, and swapped it for the one which was giving me problems, sure enough, the artifact problem followed the card.
I contacted Z-Buy a few days later about this problem and told them that I bought two identical eVGA 6800GT cards from them and one of them was bad. I also told them that I had installed them in two identical computers and had swapped the cards to verify that it was in fact the video card. They issued me a RMA along with a statement that said that the card would be tested and I quote:
“Where the finding is contrary to the complaint a technical fee of not more than $25.00 will be posted to the relevant account before the item is return the customer”.
This was fine by me because as stated before, I had swapped the cards and the problem followed the card. I packed up the card along with all of the software and documents in the original container and sent the entire package back to Z-Buy.
On November 3, Z-Buy sent me this email: (pasted)
Dear Customer:
We want to let you know that our tech. person have tested the video card
several hours. The video card was tested good. Please be advised there is
$15 tech. fee and will return the video card to you.
Thank You
RMA Dept.
I was really dismayed at the fact that I received a letter such as this. I clearly stated by voice AND letter that one of the purchased cards worked great in both computers and one was problematic. I sent a RMA for an exchange, not a refund; I just want a card that worked. Now, in addition to the $798.00, they want to hit me with another $15.00 fee for a clearly defective card. I don’t know how this “Tech” tested this card, but it seems to me that it’s a no-brainer: One card works in BOTH computers, and one doesn’t. I never thought I would have to go around and around on a non-issue such as this. I am really starting to regret taking a chance on another vendor instead of my regular one, NewEgg. Of my 10+ years building custom computers, I have never dealt with a vendor whose tone from the calls and email suggests that you don’t know what you are doing. I had high hopes for Z-Buy because of their prominent “Platinum Plus satisfaction award” from resellersrating.com. This was the deciding factor in my decision to do business with this company, as it stands, I cannot recommend anyone to purchase from this company.
As of this posting Z-Buy is closed for the day. I will be telephoning them tomorrow to try and reconcile this problem. I will give them a chance to make good on their end and do the right thing, exchange the card or issue me a refund. $399.00 is a lot to pay for a video card that I can’t use.
I will update the status of my experience with Z-Buy here, whichever way it turns out as soon as I contact them.
**Update**
After contacting Z-Buy a few days after posting my initial complaint, Z-Buy decided to do the right thing and replace the defective video card. I suspect that they monitor their Resellerratings.com comments because they suddenly became more receptive to my complaint and let me know that they are exchanging the faulty card for a good one and sending it back at no charge, they even waived that dubious $15 "test" fee. A few days later the card arrived, I installed it and it has been fault free for the last 2 days.
In the end my experience with Z-Buy has left me hesitant to buy from them in the future. I really didn't like the stance they took when I just wanted an exchange for a defective item. I'm used to legendary service like NewEgg's, who when I purchased a defective motherboard, shipped me a new board before I sent the bad one back, paid for shipping, all with no more than a comment that the board didn't work. Live and learn..."
"The WORST- lied about availability, charged card, no product. NEVER BUY FROM THEM!"
"We ordered a Linksys/Cisco SD208 8 pert 10/100BTX
Autosensing Desktop Switch with MDI/MDX CrossOver.
The pricing was reasonable, and the customer service was excellent. We received our equipment
yesterday as promised."
"Ordered the Gigabyte X800 XT from Z-BUY.com, mainly because they're less than 90 minutes away, in case I needed to drive up and give them hell. Obviously, I didn't need to do any driving. The video card arrived in a few days, was packaged up very nicely, and made my day.
Only thing I wasn't happy with was the lack of an e-mail with a tracking number. Regardless, I won't hesitate to order from Z-BUY.com again!"
"A+++ performance. They find a error in my order and emailed me to correct it. "
"Product was delivered as ordered. However, didn't receive email notifying when shipped so was waiting on the delivery status."
"Double check to avoid potential bait-and-switch tactics. I did recieve a product promptly, but got a different product (non pro version) then what I had paid for.
Ordered a product from pricewatch as Radeon 9800pro and recieved what seemed to be a non-pro version instead. Called and asked why I received a non-pro version, and was told that 'pro' version was being replaced by manufacturer with a 'non-pro' version. Called the manufacturer and was told that they actually have a pro version, and this is a completely false statement. RMA department sent me an e-mail stating that pricewatch states 'non-pro' version. Sent them a link to their advertisement that states 'replace 9800 pro'. I haven't heard back from them since. Z-Buy avoids discussing RMA issues over the phone. I am about to call my credit card company, and let them handle the dispute."
"Fast Shipment! Item is not retail tho as salesman stated."
