ETSY, NEVER AGAIN!!!
"I am a buyer. Etsy cancelled my orders 3 TIMES!!! This is the MOST frustrating company I have EVER dealt with. There is no REAL way of contacting them. You will be in a digital merry go round FOREVER and get the SAME results, NOTHING! What kind of company makes it IMPOSSIBLE to spend money at? I think Etsy is on its last leg. I would AVOID Etsy like whatever DISEASE babylon is pushing on the masses at the moment."

Unique selection
"Ordered some unique prints for my room. They took forever to arrive but were really good quality (think 30 days long). They were shipped internationally which was the delay but they were not upfront about the time."

Gone way downhill
"I am an Etsy seller (3 years plus) and over the last 6 months Etsy has shut down 3 of my 4 shops without explanation or warning. They suspended them for over a week and for all of them I finally got emails saying they were back up and running and that they were just being extra cautious for security reasons. I lost real income while they shut my shops down but was never offered any compensation or decent explanation beyond a form letter. I have asked to talk to someone real about these issues but have not been granted this request as of yet. It takes over a week for customer service to get back to you and they don't actually address your concerns when they do. I am pretty sure a bot and computer programming is behind all of this and it is just really sad and frustrating."

I'm an Etsy Seller
"Etsy is raising their seller fees from 5% to 6.5 with absolutely no service!! I can't contact them with an error in charging. No email. No phone number. The only thing you can do is their help pages or ask the community. WHAT ARE THEY GOING TO DO ABOUT WHAT ETSY HAS INCORRECTLY CHARGED ME? Quite frankly, I'm ready to start another etsy type online format"

A platform that charging way tooo much for what they give
"This platform becomes way too expensive for the sellers! there is a feeling that someone there on top wants to buy a few million house worth , and the sellers need to pay him more and more from their sales they charge wayyy tooo much and it just becomes corrupted"

Fraudulent Company
"I made a purchase with a seller who goes by the name of Koba1 and who sells "vintage watches" on Etsy. After a month had passed, my item never arrived. I contacted the seller. He said that he would get back to me, but he never did. I then opened a case with Etsy. After some time the seller appears and shows an obviously falsified receipt claiming that the item was sent. I contacted my Postal Service and they claimed that the item never left Lithuania. Etsy sided with the fraudulent seller and I never received neither my item nor my money. This company and their sellers are huge scams. I've reported Etsy to the Consumer Protection Agency. I do not know what they can do, but at least I have warned consumers about this fraudulent e-business. Save your money and avoid at all cost!"

Scam
"I ordered my merchandise in early October, I waited and waited. I received emails saying ur merchandise is on the way, then I received emails noting the delays. Towards the end of the month receive an email stating they did not have my apartment number, which is something I don't forget. By this time I'm so frustrated how this was all handled I wanted a refund. I emailed them at least 3 times requesting a refund with no response. So as I understand it Etsy is not the seller but my payment went to them. Evidently Etsy was the go between Now it looks like I have to go through the seller to get my refund and I don't know who that is. They have a customer service phone that they don't answer. This is a dishonest company, and if you having nothing to hide answer your phone. I will never do business with this company again and would not recommend my friends or enemies to do so."

Awful customer service
"I had a bad experience with a horrible seller, reported it etsy who said their sellers are free to do whatever they want. In those exact words! So different from ebay who in my 20 years of buying from them tries to resolve complaints to the customer's satisfaction. I e-mailed a ustomer asking if she would sell a ring for a slightly lesser price -she would not but stated a higher price. Since this was a ring & sizing can be tricky buying over the internet I asked her to confirm her return policy which clearly states she accepts returns. She emailed me back with an extremely nasty email saying she was rescinding the small discount & how dare I ask about returns & should just be grateful for the discount. I asked her to reconsider she refused. I was angry but decided to order the ring at full price anyway & have a jeweler resize it at my own expense if it didn't fit. She immediately cancelled my order! For what?? I complained about the treatment I received & etsy said too bad, seller's can do what they want. What business operates like this? Ebay certainly doesn't. What if I did not receive my order or something else happened. I hate to think how etsy would respond. I am not giving them the chance. I will not be ordering from them again!"

Horrible experience as a seller
"Etsy closed my account without any notice very sad and disappointing, my customers message me if I will ship their orders since they can’t get a hold of my shop since Etsy recently closed it- it is very unfair and sellers deserve better treatment Etsy is not a good place to sell stay away and sell somewhere else because Etsy will just shut you down and you will be stuck with merchandise and face financial burden, Etsy support is horrible too they literally shut you down and do not help you at all they just want you out."

This Site NEEDS to be held accountable
"My girlfriend set up a shop on Etsy amid the beginning of the covid pandemic. Our goal was to sell face masks and that's exactly what we did. We also donated to charities and helped out people facing financial hardships because I have faced these hardships before and I am a person who tries to understand and evaluate the other individuals side before making any decision. In short, I believe in being fair and honest. The charity I focused my attention to was Paws for Humanity. It's a non for profit that helps any and all animals they come across with food and shelter and it's run by a lovely older couple. They do amazing work and we loved being able to help them out by giving them whatever we could afford to as far as face masks with their logo on it, so they could resell and fund their organization. We started out doing alright for the first couple days. A mask here and there. Then, we we woke up to our shop being bombarded with hundreds of sales. My girlfriend and I were blown away to say the least. We just learned how to sew and it was pure drive and focus that held us together for our customers. We were learning and evolving as our sales came in so with that, our product became even better and we also found time to add customizable options. We were the first to introduce htv and varieties of fabric options. We had a total of 30 fabrics to choose from and plenty of HTV(heat transfer vinyl) colors and patterns. We were getting our fabrics from a local small business ran by a couple of older women. They were certainly helpful throughout our experiences with them and in no time, we were on a first name basis relationship. Within a month of opening our first Etsy shop, we amassed a total of over $30,000 in profits alone. I ended up hiring around 5 people to help us because it became too much for two people to handle. Things were going great and all of our reviews were 5 star. Our shop was full of best seller material and we were on the top of the first page on the website. One day, we started getting notifications about cases made against us. These cases were absurd and clearly, these people wanted free products. Our policies were clear that in the event of refunding, we just couldn't accept or honor those refunds due to covid related issues. We started getting cases involving the customers not willing to show us proof of their complaints. For example, one of the cases involved a woman stating that a mask was sent to her with the ear straps cut in half. It took her a couple of days to finally send a picture of it, so obviously it wasn't much of a concern and I knew she was trying to get over on us by the way it was handled. Most, if not all, of the cases were just that. The supposed customer didn't reach out to us but instead went straight to Etsy support and made a bigger mess of the situation. From there, Etsy did not even try to understand our side of the story nor did they seem to care that the customer didn't do their part of resolving the issue whatsoever. I could go on and on about these cases and how they were simply trying to scam us out of money and free products and Etsy ultimately allowed this to happen and their supposed investigation team was clearly non existent. The worst part about all of this was that this happened so sudden and without warning. We found out that your shop could be shut down by a competing shop with a simple way of words and a little effort. That is exactly what happened to us and the evidence was overwhelming. This Site gave us the opportunity to better our lives through a horrible time on this planet, only to **** it right back out of our hands and then punish us for trying to make a difference. Once our shop was closed, we were forced to give refunds for our products to numerous customers we were not even able to have contact with due to Etsys way of handling of things. Etsy royally screwed us and tainted our name by allowing scam artists and angry competitive sellers to sabotage our shop. Etsy did not stand up for us. I'm beyond angry and disgusted with Etsy. It seems they try to hide behind their forever changing policy and they believe this is some sort of shield to prevent them from legal action being taken against them. They remind me of some sort of child lost in this world, clueless to real life situations and with no responsibility and consequences for their immoral and unethical actions. A true embarrassment to culture and humankind."

Poor customer service
"I tried setting up a store on Etsy but my account was immediately blocked. Once I found a way to contact them without an email address, they replied in an unsigned authoritarian message that either the store or the item did not comply with their terms and conditions, and told me to not contact them again and to not open up another account as it would be closed. I still have no clue why the store was closed."

Such a terrible experience
"Very Bad experience with my first purchase itself I was looking for a canon telephoto lens and found an used one for a good price in Etsy. I haven’t used Etsy before and since I want to make sure its legit, i talked to Etsy customer care and told them about the purchase. they reviewed and told me there is nothing to worry and even if there is an issue in getting the lens after purchase they will back me and make sure i wont loose money. After a day of purchase since no updates, i messaged seller and inquired when this will be shipped and what is the ETA? The listing showed delivery in 4 days. Seller next day morning responded that there will be a delay because of covid and it may take a week. i smelled something wrong on his response and asked him to ship it fast. After few hours the seller profile disappeared from Etsy. i called Etsy and reported this and i was surprised by the response - "Please contact PayPal as money was transferred using PayPal as Etsy cannot help here and some bla bla bla" I was disappointed due to this response as i was told once that they will help and then later they just passed on to PayPal. i had no other way and i reporter PayPal to open a dispute. Next day seller sent me an email to close dispute and he will send once its closed. i told him i wont. Then he responded to PayPal with a DHL tracking number of a package which was shipped from Ahmadabad, India to San Jose, California. i just watched the package and it was someone's tracking number the scammer used to scam Paypal dispute. Paypal found the scam and they are closing the case in my favor by refunding the money. I am disappointed with the fact that Etsy cant validate their sellers or provide support to buyers when these scamming sellers scam them i will never purchase from Etsy. by a PITA first time and one time customer"
