App impossible to use. Then shipping is a week late
"The app would not work on my iPhone of iPad so I had to use my laptop. Of course the photos were on iPad. Can be done , just a pain. I chose expedited shipping because I had to have it the next week. But when I used a po box, it didn't tell me, it just defaulted back to economy. I could have used a street address but wasn't told I needed to. Book will be a week late. What good is that????? Very very unsatisfied customer."
"I placed an order with ShufferFly and when I received my shipping confirmation, I noticed they had the wrong address. I called ShufferFly to verify my address and they indeed had my current address, but inadvertently sent my merchandise to another address. I asked the customer service rep to resend my order to the correct address and she said she couldn't due to a 14 day return policy. Which states, if the item gets returned after 14 days, they will give me the option to continue with the transaction or cancel the order. If the item does not get returned, they will cancel my transaction and refund my credit card. I explained, due to time restraints I don't have 14 days to wait for an outcome and requested an immediate credit to my account. The Customer Service Rep said she could not credit my account with in the 14 day waiting period, so we needed to wait. This makes no sense, as I made it clear I wasn't accepting the merchandise anyway and I should be entitled to a credit, as they charged my card for something I'll never receive. So, the Customer Service Reps solution was to file a claim with my credit card company to stop the transaction between ShufferFly and myself. I thought "REALLY!" My solution consisted of contacting UPS and having the package rerouted to the correct address. Although this did cost me an extra $22, I managed to get my merchandise delivered to the correct address and on time.
C'mon ShutterFly this was an easy solution!!"
"I have used Shutterfly for over 5 years and never had an issue until now. I placed an order for a small photobook on April 6, and Shutterfly said I would get it by Monday the 17. Here we are monday and my order is still in production. Ive contacted them numerous times and they all don't know why it's taking so long. Im furious as I needed this book as a going away gift for someone I will never see again. Thanks for nothing, Shitterfly"
"Shutterly has great advertising, but it provides extremely poor customer service, at least in regard to missing orders. Tracking indicated that a gift order that was scheduled for delivery by 2/18/17 was at a post office in PA on 2/11. That was the last tracking information, so I emailed Shutterfly. They responded promptly to that and subsequent emails, but the only solution they offered was to "resend" the order, with delivery by 2/27. Supposedly, they don't have the capability to expedite replacement orders. Also, Shutterfly really doesn’t offer "free" items, since shipping isn’t free, and one must purchase an item(s) in order to receive the advertised “free” item. I won’t do business with Shutterfly again."
"Customer service was not service at all. A photo website that won't let you download your own photos? Really? You cannot download your own photos at more than 400 x 600 pixels, which is good for nothing except posting on social media. Run, don' walk, to Flickr or some other site where you can have control over your photos."
"It seems like Shutterfly has a bad rap here at Reseller Ratings (My guess is that only people who are upset come here to write a review but I had a great experience ordering from Shutterfly. I have over 10 products from Shutterfly at home and I loved every single one of them! The quality depends on the quality of photos that you choose from. Make sure your photos are high quality and your products will resemble that."
"THE SHUTTERFLY PROMISE
100% happiness guaranteed
Above statement pops up immediately when the Shutterfly site is accessed and it is pure unmitigated bulls*t! My daughter ordered 39 Christmas cards on 12/11 and today is 12/28 and NO ONE on her list has received their card yet despite the site assuring Christmas delivery when order was placed. AND to add insult to injury, they doubled her order and doubled the price without her approval! When she contacted them, on a 3rd transfer, she talked with Diana in Escalations, she had to fight tooth and nail to have only $76 dollars credited on a $176+ charge and the original changes were supposed to be well below $100!!!
Shutterfly is an abomination and their customer service and its reps are a disgrace!! My daughter should have gotten a full refund - who the hell wants Christmas cards AFTER Christmas - if we ever get them all! I will never use Shutterfly again nor will any of my family and friends. 100% happiness guaranteed=100% BULLSH*T"
"I ordered a customized calendar on Dec. 10, 2016 for my girlfriend. The website estimated the calendar would arrive no later than Dec. 22. On Dec 22nd, I did not receive the calendar. I called Shutterfly customer service, and was told that the calendar never shipped. I was given a full refund, but at that point, it wasn't about the money. It was about not having the Christmas gift that I was so excited to give my girlfriend. Needless to say, i will never deal with this company again."
"I ordered a calendar for my sister...came earlier then they said. The pages were thick, and picture quality excellent. I loved the format for making the calendar. I ordered on the 8th and it came on the 15th. I absolutely loved the calendar, and would not hesitate to order from them again!"
"My Christmas cards were ordered 12-16-16. At the rate we are going, I MIGHT receive them by that date in 2017 as the estimated date of receipt is 12-23. This is NOT what was estimated when ordering. Shutterfly has taken something that SHOULD be a pleasant experience and turned it into something that is frustrating and disappointing. Also disappointing is the automated customer service and then the "automated" reaction from the live representative when I finally SPOKE with one. One star is not low enough for this company."
"We have used Shutterfly for many years to print holiday cards and were always happy with them but this year will be the last. Instead of 1-2 days processing that it always took, they took 2 weeks; customer service, which used to be wonderful, was completely useless and appears to be outsourced (all the people who replied to me had Indian names and would only reply in the middle of the night, suggesting they are in another time zone); and the quality was worse than ever - the images were not aligned properly on the card even though they looked fine in online preview, and the resolution is pretty bad. We will still use the cards as these are minor problems but the overall experience was nothing like in previous years."
"After I ordered a calendar from Shutterfly I noticed that the days of the week on the calendar were in the wrong order on every other month. I checked everything before placing the order but never thought to look at the days of the week. Why would I? This is something that I would never change. So I reached out to their customer service asking them to please correct this. I had to send multiple emails to them and I finally got a reply a day later. The reply was generic and unacceptable:
"There cannot be any changes made once the order is placed. We were able to cancel the order for you and it has been closed in our system. Please try to make the following corrections and place a new order."
Really?? The days of the week being in the wrong order was obviously their screw up. I'm not even sure if I could edit that part of the calendar...and again, why would I? And even if I wanted to go back and edit the calendar, I noticed the calendar project I created was overwritten with another one that I never updated. So the site has some major technical problems. I understand, as a software engineer myself, that these things happen. But their customer service after I noticed the issue is what is really unacceptable. Stay away from this site or you will be disappointed!!"
"Low quality photo reproduction, blurred and pixilated images results in about 80% of the last two orders. First one refunded, second order they refused to refund, wanted to redo order but charge me for shipping. Go to Costco, their website is also much easier to use than that of Shutterfly."
"So I just wrote a review...but I am now changing my review to 5 stars! My initial rating was because of poor customer service, but I called back and tried one more time with a different customer service representative and everything is fixed. Shutterfly usually has great customer service...you may just need to call more than once. 9 times out of 10 the person is very helpful. I unfortunately talked to someone that was not very helpful the first time. Here is situation - I ordered with a 40% off coupon...the next day the 40% promotion expired...and they offered a 50% off promotion. I was very upset that I rushed to submit my order only to find that I should have waited to get the 50% off coupon for orders more than $79. I spent $263 initially. The first customer service representative was not very understanding or helpful. She said that since 99 cents of the order had shipped (one 5x7 photo) there was nothing she could do. Apparently if the 99 cent photo had not shipped, they would have been able to apply the promotion. I gave it one more try (because Shutterfly usually has amazing customer service). This time the representative talked to a manager and they applied the 50% off to the remaining $262 (not including the 99 cent print). What great customer service. This is how you make a return customer. Great quality photo books...and they want you to have a good value. Great books at great values makes loyal customers. Thank you shutterfly for granting this request. I will be back for more photo books. I will just be sure to keep a look out for the 50% off promotions now that I know you offer them occasionally."
"I ordered birthday party invitations for my moms 60th surprise party. After 2 weeks of nothing shipping I decided to contact customer service. They informed me that while they had been experiencing issues with direct mailing, no one had gotten in touch with me. One representative said they "did their best to get in contact with every purchaser" however I never heard anything. Now I have invites going in late for a surprise party in under 1 month. We needed to get a head count for caterer by next week which will not be happening. I was offered a "photo book" by shutterfly and nothing else. I asked for expedited shipping which they could not accommodate. Will use other online services from now on."
