Great service but shady associates
"Gift Card Nanny helps with the acquisition and sale of gift cards on the secondary market. It does not actually trade gift cards, but rather shows what kind of deals are available on trading sites, so that customers can make an informed decision on how to purchase or sell their gift cards.
Gift Card Nanny greatly relies on referring business, and is therefore troubling that it keeps promoting partners with a less than stellar reputation.
In my case, I used Gift Card Nanny to sell my gift card to CardFlip. At the time GCN showed that it was the highest payout available, and that it was a direct transaction, no waiting for my card to be resold. It's too bad GCN does not show any form of ratings for their partners, as if they did, I am sure I would not have sent my gift card to CardFlip only to have it stolen.
I understand GCN is not responsible for the actions of its business associates, but this is after all a company whose main activity is to refer business to its partners, so some form of oversight and feedback should be put in place, and companies that have a BBB rating of F should probably not be promoted. Use GCN as an indicator of possible deals, but do not attribute any positive reputation to business just because they are listed on GCN, as my case shows."

CarFlip did not pay for my card after weeks of emails and phone calls
"The number of 1 star reviews for this outfit is astounding, so it's not clear why they get a 6.3 average (so far).
Quite simply, CardFlip accepted my gift card sale offer, confirmed several times over emails and phone calls that they had my card, that they were aware of having mishandled my transaction, and promised a check in the mail 15 days ago. Even accounting for the actual 8 working day since the check was supposed to be mailed, it should already have been in my mailbox.
Considering how CardFlip mishandled such a simple transaction, and then failed to remedy after it acknowledged its mistakes, I suggest you stay away from such an outfit, which is at best an inept and at worst a fraudulent one."

"I tried to purchase a replacement battery for my roomba from batterymart.com. The transaction went through as expected.
BatteryMart later cancelled my order because the shipping address was 'unverified' by Paypal. Note that there was no 'we only ship to verified addresses' on the purchase form, and the address was supplied via paypal itself.
Batterymart does not seem to trust paypal process at all. Keep this in mind when ordering."

"I was able to place orders in the past. Sure, the lead time is rather long, but that is a given.
Lately, dx.com could not complete any orders. Items marked as "in stock" became unavailable a few weeks after I placed my order. Even the US-based branch can not deliver: my order was not shipped, and no info was given to my account. I had to call in for service to find out my item was out of stock, a week after I placed my order. That item is still marked as "in stock" on dx catalog, by the way.
Bottom line, there are alternatives to dx.com, and I will use those from now on."
