"Ordered a BD540 blu-ray player, but received BD550. This is actually newer model but I really was looking for BD540. The customer service was nice to check if they had any BD540 still remaining in the stock, and offered free return or exchange for another player with discount as there were none left. In the end, customer service was very customer-oriented and I will definitely think about ordering from 220-electronics again. Maybe would contact them first to make sure they have a particular item in stock."
"Ordered custom blinds for bathroom window. The quality of blinds is actually reasonable, but the colors shown online do not represent the color of the product received. By the time it took me to inspect the blinds, order the samples of other colors and then figure out which color actually matches my window trim, the exchange/return policy for this product (15 days from the time of SHIPMENT, not when you actually receive the item) has passed. Bear in mind that it took about 3 weeks for them to make the blinds, which was explained that someone had to cut the blinds to custom size (I can do it in an hour, but apparently Home Depot employee requires 3 weeks). The "customer service" is not there to actually help customer but to find a way to blow you off - there is no accountability for wrong colors displayed, long production time etc, they only use "15 day return policy " as an excuse to avoid doing anything."
"Good customer service. Ordered a repainting set, the clear coat spray bottle had less weight than expected, received a reply by email promptly and was sent a replacement within a week. Product worked well as well."
"Bought a Nokia phone for T-mobile prepaid to go plan. T-mobile has one of the best prepaid plans where if you put at least $100 refills into your account, you achieve a "gold reward" status, where your minutes do not expire for a year and the cost is 10 cents per minute. However, getting the status updated to "gold" is a pain - the online refill system is bugged (on purpose?) so you need to call the CSR. You can reach customer service relatively quickly, but many CSRs are brain dead - they just repeat what their "manual" says. It took me 6 total calls ( 3 of which were hang on) before the expiration date and the total number of minutes were finally adjusted with the help of 3(!) managers. If you get shot down by first manager ("everything is correct"), call again because apparently different managers have different policies."
"Paypal is a dishonest company that falsely advertises its transaction charge rates and then changes them after you accept the payment.
I have requested a payment for an item from another Paypal user. The payment arrived, and Paypal showed that it will assess a fee of 3.79 based on my account status at the time (personal). There was no other info on the "accept"/"deny" page. After clicking the accept button I was offered to upgrade my account to the "premier" status to get the "low" 2.9%+0.30 fee. I declined after which the fee was changed to 6.20. Nowhere on the initial page has I been shown that the fee would be 6.20.
Contacting customer service is pointless - most of their customer service reps are brain dead or pretend to be brain dead and keep repeating the same mantra like trained monkeys. Speaking with the "supervisor" (Name: Precious, ID# 40739) led to a repeated explanation of "your account is not premier, therefore the fee should be 4.9%+0.30".
From now on I will stay away from these crooks and recommend everyone to do the same. Read paypalsucks.com if you want to know more, wish I went to that site before opening a paypal account."
"Ordered a bunch of small computer items (cables, screws, etc) from FrozenCPU. Shipping was reasonable and they use total weight of all items to calculate shipping so that ordering many items does not necessarily increase shipping much. The prices are not cheap though - they have a lot of enthusiast grade items such as noise-dampening fan screws etc, so maybe the market for these is not huge. But 4 rubber screws should not cost $3-5. Items arrived promptly, I had an issue with one of the fan converters and was shipped a replacement free of charge. Overall, very good experience."
"I had good experience with Dell.com. Needed to purchase a case and because I had some Dell dollars from a previous desktop purchase promotion, went with Dell. Prices for their accessories are OK, not the cheapest but in line with other online vendors. Case arrived promptly, but was missing the cpu air guide (not in the box, manufacturer's mistake). contacted customer service by e-mail, they replied next day and shipped me a replacement case. Everything went smoothly and customer service was very responsive. Note that I bought this through Dell EPP program, customer service might be less efficient for Dell home. Overall, I was pretty satisfied with the purchase and with the customer service."
"Placed several orders at the web site for couple of plants each. Used a coupon advertised in the brochure. One order came but the other two were canceled, one on the same day, another one a month after being shown online as pending. No e-mails or any sort of notification was sent to me regarding the cancellation, no explanation was offered at web site as to why the order was suddenly canceled.
Prices for plants are a rip off, they send you a small plant and charge you more than what you would pay in the local Home Depot or Lowe's for a much larger plant of the same kind. They also try to make money on shipping fees.
I would recommend not to waste the money on this dishonest company."
"I have initially bought two dvds from the DDD. The package has arrived promptly and reasonably well packed. One of the DVD was sort of defective - it was an old glued DVD-10 and thus did not fit into any of my DVD players or into DVD-Rom on a computer. Upon contacting DDD they have issued a RA quickly and even sent me a shipping label to send the DVD back. They refunded the full price of the DVD within about a week after I sent it to them. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by very good customer service and would definitely buy from this company again."
"I have ordered a computer case from ClubIT. Arrived in a week, however, the side panel was bent and the power supply unit was 430W instead of 450W that was listed on the invoice. After e-mailing ClubIT, they have contacted manufacturer of the case and have sent me a replacement side panel and also agreed to send a 450W PSU. I didn't have to return the 430W PSU. Both items already arrived. Customer Service was excellent - received prompt replies and the gentlemen I spoke to confirm the replacement shipping was very polite. Will definitely consider this store for my future purchases."
"This site is a scam. They "accidentally" made a mistake in their pricing database where all prices were messed up. I have made two orders while the prices were "incorrect", they charged my credit card within a day, then sent me a cancellation e-mail saying that they will post the credit in 3-5 days. It is 2 weeks since that now and there is still no credit on my account. Their phone number is not functional, the only way to reach them is through e-mail but they do not reply to them. Not to mention that in most states charging of the credit card constitutes the final sale and they cannot cancel the order after that. I am not going to sue them just because of the hassle, and will have to dispute the credit card charges with my CC company."
"Ordered an item. Received confirmation e-mail promtly. Checked the status in three days - the order has been cancelled with no notification sent to me. Clear sign to avoid the company in the future."
"I have made an order of Linksys wireless adapter. The order was placed on June 28th and showed shipping estimates betwen July 15 and July 21. On July 20th (!) I received a cancellation e-mail stating that Amazon could not locate a sourse for this product (even though they are selling the same product from TigerDirect.com) and therefore cancelled my order. At the same time, they shipped the same item to my friend who ordered at the same date. They also hold up my gift certificate money on this order so I could not use it for 3 weeks. It is my view that Amazon simply did not want to honor the order due to low price of the item (it was lower that usual by about 20$). Waiting for three weeks to get a cancellation is ridiculous."

"I had one of the worst experiences while trying to buy an item from this merchant. I have placed an online order for Microtek scanmaker i900. At the time of purchase the item was shown to be in stock. I have received a confirmation e-mail soon after. After waiting one week I checked the site where the order was still "in processing". When I called the customer rep they claimed that the item was out of stock even at a time of placing the order (?) and now it is backordered till 11/24 (order was placed on 11/10). "Per company policy" they said they they should cancel the order as they do not allow backorders. Checking the next day the website was showing that the scanner was available in stock (?). I waited another day for cancellation e-mail, but nothing arrived of course. The web site now showed that the order was cancelled. Most importantly, the scanner price went up from 504.44 to 532.09. Call to customer rep was useless - "once the order was cancelled we cannot do anything about it but you are welcome to place the order again" (and pay higher price!)
So clearly, they lied about availability of item, they lied that it was backordered till 11/24, cancelled the order without notifying me, and tried to play a bait-n-switch game with item pricing. Additionally, their customer reps are quite rude and can simply hang up on you.
Certainly I am not going to buy from they ever again and am quite curious which methods they used to bump up their rating here."
