"This PC builder seems to have a glowing reputation online and from my experience with this order they do deserve it. My experience mirrors many other reviews where a polite and helpful employee promptly contacts you to discuss your order. I get the impression part of their business model is talking you up a bit on the components you choose but their recommendations are very appropriate. I configured my computer in the midst of a flu. I was loaded up on cold meds and picked an odd mix of low and high end components in a half awake effort to save a buck. The staff member walked me through the configuration after asking what specifically I was planning to do with the PC and politely explained I had built a nonfunctional fire hazard. She had some recommendations that resulted in cheaper options but for the most part the suggestions were mild upgrades in price. When all was said and done my $1100 PC cost a little over $1200.
Shipping isn't instant since this is a builder site but I did get my PC quicker than estimated. The PC was double boxed for protection and they include the motherboard box in which they put all the manuals and any spare parts that came with your purchased components.
After a few weeks of operating time the computer has been running without a hitch, does everything promised and appears well assembled. The only hiccup in craftsmanship is the external connectors on the motherboard and the case's external face-plate don't perfectly line up. You can tell a tech spent a fair amount of time bending that face-plate just a bit to ensure the rear ports are all accessible but they didn't quite get the PS2 ports to line up. But frankly who uses those any more and I was a bit surprised that a modern name-brand motherboard would still have them.
All in all this transaction was everything I expected it to be given the flood of positive reviews for this company and I would definitely use them again if I found myself in the market for another PC."

"Incredibly slow turnaround time killed this shopping experience. I placed my order on 6/13 and it didn't ship till 7/8. I think I wouldn't have minded if I had some sort of notification that the item was back-ordered or shipping had been delayed. That being said, this website does have an excellent selection of LED bulbs at fair prices. I'm on the fence about whether or not I'd use them again. I certainly wouldn't use them if I were in a hurry."

"Simply the best litter box I've ever seen. They're very low maintenance only requiring the occasional trash bag change and the apartment never has a litter odor. This is actually the second one of these litter boxes I've purchased. The original is still going strong after a year or two and the new one is just to handle increased cat traffic."

"Pcretro wasn't the worst online shopping experience I've had but I've certainly had better. Before I ever ordered I asked several questions via e-mail and one question concerning the video card was answered incorrectly. The order process was slow (7 days from payment to shipment) and I had to call the company to find out my order status and to get the tracking number. The hardware I received was a mix of various brands but that's to be expected from a reseller like this. The only thing that really bugged me was the keyboard. The keys were worn out and the keyboard was dirty (it looked like dried mucus was stuck to several keys).
The bottom line, this company had some pretty good deals. Just remember you're getting what you pay for when you buy a used computer system."

"As online retailers go, the transaction itself was pretty standard. There's nothing spectacularly good or bad to report in that respect. The quality of the housebrand dvd media is what's sorely lacking. Half of them fail and the half that actually make it through the burn process are riddled with bad sectors. After this experience I'd highly recommend sticking to quality brands of media such as Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden."
