"Absolutely terrible. Placed a single order for Valentine's Day flowers using a coupon I received off of a box of chocolates, and then the day that the item was supposed to be delivered, I receive a cancellation e-mail from 1-800-flowers stating that the coupon was invalid/fraudulent. WTF?! I'm holding it in my hand!
I will NEVER, EVER place another order with 1-800-Flowers again. They have lost my business for life, and I will tell every single person I can about what a horrible experience I had with them. Shame on you, 1-800-Flowers."
"Do not use 1800Flowers. I had a delivery scheduled for Feb 12. 2010. I guess the delivery guy failed to go to the right place and ask around. I made sure to leave my phone number and my wifes number on 1800flowers website IN CASE OF A PROBLEM. Never got a call. I called 1800flowers and they said oh... well he will try again at 5pm. THAT IS WHEN SHE LEAVES. So i ruin her surprise and tell her to wait for the guy. NO SHOW. No idea where my money went. "
"DO NOT TRUST this company. I ordered flowers to have them delivered to my wife's work on Friday, FEB 12th. I then got an email saying there was a delay and would be delivered the next day. No problem, IF anyone was in the office over the weekend! I tried to explain this to them and (after 1 hour on hold) the customer rep (obviously out-sourced to another country) said there was nothing they could do, but file a complaint when she recieved the dead flowers on Tuesday. They also said I should try and call UPS and change the delivery location at my expense! I will never order from this place again, first and last time for sure. Don't trust them to deliver on time and you don't even save that much, if anything, over local florists. Buyer Beware."
"I was a long time customer of 1800Flowers.com. The keyword in my opening sentance is "was". After today I will NEVER do business with this company, nor any of it's affiliates again.
I ordered flowers for my wife, whose birthday happens to be 02/13, using legitimately acquied savings passes from the Harry London Promotion in combination with $32 in savings passes from a service failure on my last order.
No email, no phone call, no flowers. Once my wife's co-worker, who was in on the flowers coming, let me know that they had not been delivered, I called only to be informed that the order had been cancelled due to some "fradulent" codes.
If I had been contacted at some point in the three days since I placed this order, I woul dhave worked with them, but to find out only AFTER the flowers were not delivered in unacceptable. There was no way I was going to give them my credit card at this point and trust that a credit would be applied!!!
DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH!"
"Like the review below, I wish that I had read some reviews about this company prior to purchasing an 80$ bunch of flowers/balloons. I purchased the flowers, paid extra for next day delivery. They called the recipient saying they had spent an hour trying to find the address and were going to deliver it tomorrow once she explained where abouts she lived. I've purchased with BloomexUSA.com in the past and they found the address absolutely no problems whatsoever. I'm disgusting with their service. The fact they have now spoilt a well thought out suprise is upsetting to say the least."
"I should have looked at these ratings before purchasing! I ordered the flowers to be delivered on the 10th, but they never came...nor did they come the next day. They are somewhere with UPS. Granted, the weather has been bad (but UPS is still delivering), but you have to deliver on-time. THE DATE MATTERS. They shipped the flowers ground so now they have been with UPS for at least 3 days in a box. They say sorry, but no refund. I will enjoy my $50 dead flowers. NEVER AGAIN!"
"Bought a Valentines day gift for someone. 1800 Flowers was very quick to charge my credit card. Right when I placed the order my credit card was charged. Four days before Valentines day 1800 Flowers decides to cancel my order without refunding my money. I had to file a claim to get my money back. The claim is still processing so I am still waiting on my money back.
Will not order from again."
"I needed to order flowers for a funeral that was to occur on December 24. It was very important that they be right, and obviously that they actually arrive timely. I had already ordered the flowers through 1800Flowers.com before I thought about looking for reviews. After reading the horror stories spelled out here, I came very close to canceling the order. I was panicked that the order would be a disaster.
I had ordered flowers a few years earlier from another source, for another funeral, and for the money spent, what arrived was absolutely embarrassing! So I had some trepidation about it based on past experience.
I decided to keep the order in place. But I called 1800Flowers to try and proactively ensure that I would get what I ordered and when.
I have to say that the two people I ended up talking to for this problem were exceedingly kind and helpful. The first one contacted the florist they were utilizing to fill the order to try and obtain confirmation of the flowers that would be used in the arrangement (I knew that it wouldn't end up looking exactly like the picture), and to confirm delivery. She couldn't get through, so she emailed them for a response.
She called me back later to say that she had not had a response yet, but she was fairly confident it would be all right.
I called back later and got someone else, who called the shop again for me, got through to someone, and confirmed that all would go as ordered.
I was still skeptical, but decided to let it go and see what happened. I had also ordered a second arrangement from a local florist. I thought it would be interesting to see the difference between the two orders. Plus, I was hedging my bets, assuming that if the 1800 order went haywire, I still had another arrangement coming from a different florist.
As it turned out, the 1800 flowers arrived on time and were absolutely beautiful. Although it didn't exactly look like the photo from which I had ordered, it was recognizable. The bouquet was much larger, and much nicer, and cost about a third less than the second bouquet ordered by phone from a local florist.
Would I use 1800Flowers.com again? In a heartbeat!
My experience was top-notch. I was very pleased with the whole process -- and more importantly, the results."
"I placed an order on January 8 for flowers to be delivered to my girlfriends work on January 9 between 12pm and 5pm for her birthday. Its a pretty simple order and they had all the correct information. Did the flowers get delivered? Of course not. Did I get charged anyway? You betcha.
I tried calling their customer service to see what happened, but I just got an answering machine telling me to leave a message with my complaint and that someone will get back to me. I then phoned them back and selected the option to place a new order and I got through no problem. I told that representative about what happened and she told me that the flowers were on the truck. This was at 730 on Jan 9. The delivery date.
Bravo. You got the job half done and now its too late to finish it because the delivery had to be made by 5:00pm. THE TIME I PAID TO HAVE IT DELIVERED BY!
I work out of town and am unable to get flowers to where they need to be. I put my trust into a service that I should have researched a little better. Now my girlfriend doesnt get flowers on her birthday and I look like a jerk.
To anyone reading this looking for an honest opinion here it is:
My first and last experience with 1800flowers was an unpleasant one. Poor customer service mixed with not getting what I paid for equals 1800flowers not getting my business ever again. Any of you prospective customers would be better off buying and delivering the flowers youself, if possible. If not, you should call a flowershop in the city you are sending to and just skip the middleman.
1800flowers is a joke. "
"Asked for and paid for "same day" delivery for my wife for our 20th Anniversary. The flowers did not show up. Instead the local florist called and said that they had a delivery for her but that they could not make it till the next day. When I contacted customer support via email here’s the response “Thank you for contacting us. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause you. We have granted you a $ 20.00 gift certificate for future purchase. We appreciate your inquiry, and look forward to serving your gifting needs in the future. If you have any other questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us at the address listed below.” Can you believe it, they screw up and they granted me something. I have emailed this bunch of unprofessional idiots to close the account and removed me from the email list. First rule in business (any business) IF YOU CAN’T DELIVERY IT DON'T SELL IT. I’ve had enough with these bunch of whatever you want to call them (It’ll fit trust me); I’ll spend more at a local florist and delivery them myself."
"Ordered 12/7/09 for 12/09/09 delivery. As of 12/11/09, no delivery. Upon contacting Customer Service, I was bounced from one rep to another to finally "someone will contact you". No contact received. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY-GOOGLE OTHER REVIEW SITES-I WISH I HAD!!!"
"Flowers were great. Very fast shipping and the recipient was very very happy! A great variety of choices. "
"Talked to one of the managers and she was very nice. My issue was resolved"
"Asked for "same day" delivery for my wife. The flowers did not show up. The local florist called after one day (one day later) and asked if they can deliver by noon. They did not show up. When contacting customer support at 1800flowers, they said that the request was processed and they don't want to refund anything. Don't use these guys - they are simply horrible."
"Placed an order for a LARGE Sweet Serenade boquet but received a SMALL boquet from this reseller's local florist (Hill's Flowers in San Jose, CA). So what I got was nowhere near what I saw on the web site. 1800flowers offered to redeliver or refund the difference. The lady at Hill's Flowers said she had to degrade the order to account for the delivery charge. It didn't make a difference to her when I told her I had paid $15 to 1800flowers towards delivery charge."
