"DO NOT USE this service!!! They gave me the run around last week and hardly an apology and a mere $13 refund out of a $44 purchase (after about 60 minutes of asking them to speak to a manager on the phone). First, I placed an order 5 days in advanced to send flowers to my mom. It was going to be a really sweet surprise and I was excited all week for her birthday to arrive. The day of her birthday I get a call saying that the flowers won't be delivered on my mom's birthday (computer processing error???), and they asked if that was ok. I should have canceled the order but the lady on the phone assured me, PROMISED me, they would be delivered first thing in the morning (NO LATER than 12) and I begrudgingly agreed. THEN, the flowers are not only late (defeating the whole purpose of having them delivered on her birthday), but they were AGAIN late the next day. They were still not there by 4pm. But, I got a confirmation email saying they had been signed for. I called my mom to see if she liked them and ended up SPOILING the surprise b/c they HAD NOT been delivered yet. I called the service, thinking the whole order had been lost and I was so confused to have this confirmation of signature when my mom said she did not sign anything. After the lady on the phone disappeared for a few minutes, she came back to tell me that it was a false confirmation and that the driver was on his way. WHAT??? A false confirmation? As in, they LIED and I had to spoil the surprise for my mom. So, they lied, and they ruined the surprise and they were late TWICE. They had to call my mom to investigate this stupid confirmation misunderstanding, and someone else called her for directions, and I had been calling her, and I had been on the phone for over an hour at this point, all for some stupid, and expensive flowers. This was the worst service I could ever have imagined. And for all of this, they very reluctantly gave me a 'generous' refund of $13. HA. They ruined my day and inconvenienced my mom and it was the worst birthday present I have ever given her. Thanks stupid 1-800-Flowers. And NO, I do not want a gift certificate because I am never ever ever trusting you all with anything again. And I will make sure to tell everyone to do the same. "
"My daughter oredered flowers and asked for a call prior to delivery, no call, missed delivery. Redelivered 2 days later, slid in our drveway causing substatnial lawn and damage to a stone post. The delivery service (subcontractor) apparently is accountable and the driver stated he did slide off the driveway. After months of phone calls, letters, etc etc we are still awaiting resolution. We did recieve $500.00 for lawn damage after I wrote a letter to the CEO. We still do not even know who the insurance carrier is for the drivers van? 1-800 flowers has done nothing to help resolve this issue for over $2,000.00 dollars of damage. The attorney for 1-800 flowers told us it is not their responsibility to make good on the damages. The VP of retail told me to take their subcontractor to small claims court. Well that certainly is wonderful cusotmer service. Terrible assistance in resolving this even after 1-800 flowers made multiple promises of paying for the damages, now they said they cannot becuase their subcontractor has hired an attorney. Would not recommend this company for any type of products."
"I ordered a bouquet of flowers to be delivered for someone's birthday and they were promptly delivered as promised with an email telling me when they were delivered. I've done business with 1-800-Flowers.com before and will definitely do business with them again."
"I hope someone is reading this review before they order from 1-800flowers. Run, don't walk away from your computer if you are thinking of ordering!
I went on the website and specifically clicked on "Daisies" because I wanted Gerber daisies for a sick friend. There were beautiful arrangements pictured.
The friend that I sent flowers to sent me a picture of the flowers she received and they were NOT EVEN CLOSE what I ordered. She was to recieve Gerber daisies and snapdragons. What she got was 1-2 daisies(not GerBer) , roses, lilies , junky filler ferns and some other crap that I cannot identify. I specifically ordered what I ordered because it expressed my feelings and was exactly what I was looking for.
I emailed them, and as expected, they said that on their website they state that they may need to make substitutions, and if they do, they substitution in of equal or better quality. BULL! It's like going to a restaurant and ordering shrimp, baked potato and asparagus and getting hamburger, fries and cole slaw.
They promised they would redeliver the order. That was a week ago, and so far nothing has been delivered. I'm ready to blow my stack.
As someone else mentioned, I'm sure Martha Stewart would not be pleased to have her name associated with such terrible customer service. I will be sending her an email as well."
"I ordered 3 centerpieces for my client`s bridal shower spa party, we received the flowers on time BUT surprisingly The flowers arrangement were So Ugly, smallest lily i ever seen, tinny daisies with broken stem. Look like the florist just dump a wild plant into a vase. When i ask the florist said its not ready to bloom. Are you stupid?? i put a note ITS FOR A PARTY !!I called 1800Flowers twice and they promised to redeliver with a better arrangement, waited for hours until the party is DONE and no florist shows up. I was very embarrassed to my client+ guests, so i hide the flowers.. They promised to refund my money but at the end.. Nothing. They refused to give me full refund...my advise, Dont Take a chance for this big hassle "
"I ordered this for my sisters 21st birthday. Did not send it to her directly because 1-800 flowers would not deliver, she is in the military and leaving for Iraq in a few weeks. We had it sent to her home location instead where she was going to be for a day only and we ordered it four days in advance, we did not hear anything till 3:41am the 12 that they could not deliver it. They did not compensate for missing her birthday. "
"I was excited to see Martha Stewart flowers on 1800FLOWERS and ordered a live gardenia tree for a sick friend who lives 1500 miles away in early April 2008. I didn't have a chance to visit her until early June 2008, and then learned that the plant arrived with an infestation of white flies and has only had one flower. My friend (who is still not in the best of health) had to nurse the plant back to health. Like many people, my friend appreciated the gesture and did not want to let me know there had been a problem with the plant, and only told me after I had seen the plant myself and was quite shocked to see its condition. I spent $90 on this item and so contacted 1800FLOWERS and was told that there is a 30 day window for refunds. Their customer service department does not seem to be in the United States, they do not stand by their products and do not seem to care. I would never use 1800FLOWERS again, and I am disappointed that Martha Stewart has her name associated with this company."
"I will never order from 1-800-flowers again. My experience was a disaster. I ordered on May 1 for delivery on May 9. The flowers were for a 70th birthday luncheon on the 10th. When they did not arrive I called. I was told that they attempted to deliver on the 8th but that no one was home and they left a note. This was an outright lie as the recipient was home all day. They promised to deliver that night, the recipient cancelled dinner p[lans to be home but no flowers. I called again and they promised to deliver early the next day but still no flowers. When the event started without flowers I called to cancel. They then attempted to deliver later in the afternoon when the event was over. The recipient refused the flowers but noted that they were not what I ordered. I paid $75 and ordered the deluxe bouquet. The next week I received an e-mail confirmation stating that they had delivered on the 9th. I then realized that they were not planning to issue the promised refund. I called again, demanded to speak with a supervisor and only then got the refund. They out and out lied to me several times. They also lied about what the local florist was telling them. Never again"
"Flowers were delivered one week BEFORE requested date.
1-800-flowers ruined the surprise and made me look like an idiot who, of course, can’t remember his sister's birthday date.
No live person responded to my complaint.
Looks like they don't have customer service at all and don't care about their screw ups!!!
"
"What a mess. I ordered online and got a confermation. I orded on the 9 of May and expected a May 10 or 11th delivery like the order said. Mothers Day came and went with no flowers. I was called on Monday to let me know the flowers would be late as much as Wednsday. Still no Flowers. So I called and it took 3 times to actually get an answer as I was disconnected on hold twice. Only to fianally find out that my mom was out of their delivery area. So I was offered a refund. Now it is May 20 and still no money, so I called and was told that even though the order was cancelled the refund had not been done. It will take 5 busyness days to process so by May 29 I should fianally get my $54.98 back. DO NOT USE 1800FLOWERS they won't delever anything but a costly problem!"
"This was my first and LAST time shopping with 1800 Flowers. The entire order was a nightmare from begining to end...
1) I placed my order 5-3-08 because I knew that I would be out of town for Mother's Day and wanted my mom to have something nice.
2) I ordered a large clear vase with a green bow with an assortment of beautiful, colorful wildflowers AND purchased the "Holiday Shipping Fee" to have them delivered to my mother ON Mother's Day (5-11-08).
3) While I was out of town, I called my mother on 5-10-08, the Saturday BEFORE Mother's Day, and she thanked me for the flowers that she received.
4) I was very upset because I paid the special Holiday fee to have it delivered ON Mother's Day and this completely ruined the surprise.
5) After calling 1-800 Flowers, they gave me some ridiculous refund of 20% of my subtotal and the customer sales representative was VERY rude.
6) Once I arrived back to my mothers house, I was EXTREMELY disappointed with the flowers that she received. They were in a tiny "fish bowl" vase with blue/pink butterflies on it and the flowers looked like weeds that had been picked from the backyard. The bad thing is that they didnt even bother filling up the vase! They were half full and HIDEOUS! Not to mention that they were partially wilted!
7) I called customer service again and they offered me yet another crappy refund. Basically my order came to a total of $45.97 and they only refunded $15.00 back to me. My flowers were delivered on the wrong day, they looked NOTHING like what I ordered, ugly, and in conclusion, this was nothing but a big hassle.
I will NEVER order from 1-800 Flowers and I wish I saw this website prior to placing my order. I wish that I had not settled for their "20% refund" because I deserved every penny back. DO NOT SHOP THERE!!!"
"My mother and grandmother did not get there flowers!
Don't use 1800flowers ! Bad Worst Crap"
"On Sat May 10 at 2:20 PM PST I placed an order on 1800Flowers.com
I received an order confirmation email that everything was set to delivered.
On Sun May 11 (Mother's Day), no delivery was made.
Certainly I was very disappointed but even more so that they DID NOT call or email me. I called 1800Flowers at 1-***-***-**** at approximately 6pm PST and reached an automated telephone machine that said due to high volumes they could not take my call goodbye. I also sent an email via their complaint form that to this moment (10am PST) was NOT answered.
I had to manually call on May 12 and complain. They apologized and said they were overloaded. They gave me my money back but didn't offer any other solution. They would not give a free courtesy delivery of flowers or any other compensation.
In summary, the facts are:
1) Order was placed one day in advance on May 10
2) I received an order confirmation, no problems with delivery May 11
3) No email, no phone call was made on May 10 or May 11. If they had made any attempt whatsoever to contact me, I could have made other arrangements. I called my mom at 6pm PST and of course it was too late for me to make any other order.
4) They were too busy to take my phone call or respond to my email on May 11. I could not leave a message.
5) I had to manually call to get a refund.
6) They would not give me a courtesy flower delivery for my trouble.
7) They said plenty of other others could not be delivered and they issued refunds or small discounts.
8) When I asked why they took my money, gave me an order confirmation but did not deliver or attempt to contact me, they had no answer.
9) The CS rep "Diane" told me they had LOTS of non deliveries and didn't work Sundays to notify people of non deliveries on Mother's Day!!!
10) I was transferred to 1-***-***-**** to complain further but it's just an infinite loop number.
DO NOT ORDER FROM 1800Flowers.com if you have any expectation of your order going through. They will take your money, and give you nothing but empty promises. Furthermore, their customer service will do nothing but return your money.
Take your business elsewhere to begin with. I never had any problems with FTD.com
If you are part of the media PM, I can send you the email confirmation with order number and my phone number for verification of all the above.
"
"Mothers Day, dont depend on this company to deliver anything!!! I ordered early and requested delivery before mothers day and they said" oops we never sent the order to the vender" this was after calling back and forth for 3 days...they offered to resend 4 days after mothers day, can you belive that? Dont trust them, cust service is horrible and told me i need to wait 2 weeks for refund."
"I could not imagine a company doing business the way 1800 Flowers has been doing it. I am extremely upset and disappointed in the service that I have received and would never order from them again.
I ordered Mother's Day flowers in April to be delivered on May 9, the Friday before Mother's Day. They were to be delivered to my mother's office by 2pm. This didn't happen so I called them to see if it was delivered after so my mom could go pick them up. They said they hadn't been delivered so I had them send them to my mom's house. I got a delivery confirmation on Friday evening saying that they had been delivered to my mom's house. They had not been delivered.
I called customer service on Saturday and they apologized, offered me a 20% credit and said they would deliver them by Mother's Day. This means they would be 2 days late and all they could offer me was 20% credit.
Today is Mother's Day, 8 pm and they have still not been delivered. Customer service today, said they had a signature on the delivery that was not my mom's name and that they were probably delivered to the wrong home. Again they offered me an additional 20% credit but at this point I felt like they should have been free. They said they would redeliver on Monday.
I asked to speak with a supervisor who had more information than any of the previous 3 agents I had spoken with. The supervisor said that the flowers had actually been delivered to the work address after I had called and had the address changed and someone there signed for them. She said she understood that I had been provided the incorrect information the past 3 times that I had called but there was nothing more they could do for me. I asked to cancel the order and have a ful l refund but she said no because they had been delivered to the original address. It didn't matter than 1) my mom never got the flowers, 2) they may or may not still be at her office and 3) I was consistently provided with the wrong information.
They say satisfaction guaranteed but clearly it is not. I cannot believe they would do something like this and not provide the accurate information. If they had just told me on Friday that they couldn't change the address and it would be delivered to the office my mother would have gone back and picked them up. "
