"I had the same bad experience as the other posters here on Valentine's Day. I ordered flowers and paid extra for delivery on Feb. 14, 2008 and the flowers never arrived. No one was answering calls on either their customer service or order line. 1800Flowers.com is HIGHLY UNRELIABLE. DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM! "

"The same thing happened to me today as a number of people has written below -- NO FLOWERS ARRIVED today on Valentine's Day!! It's true that unlike these people, I waited until the very last minute (2/13) to order. But the site does say "order before 2pm that day for same day delivery". Hey, if they already know that at the time of my order, my local florist would not have been able to deliver the flowers on Feb 14 as I have requested, they should NOT have allowed me to proceed with the order. And today, when I tried first to call them to track the order, and then later to cancel the order, I could not even get through to the customer reps! Rather than putting me on hold, they just said "all the reps are busy now, and we can't take your call", and hung up on me. I then tried to e-mail them to cancel the order, explaining that since it will already be passed Valentine's day when the flowers do arrive. They sent me back a reply saying that I am not allowed to make changes or to cancel the order because of the high traffic during the holiday. So they just took my money, and they are going to send my wife the flowers (assuming they are still sending them, who knows?) couple of days later? when they are meaningless??

I should have stuck with iflorist.com as I did last year, when I had a same-day delivery order with them. They were much more responsive. As soon as they got my e-mail, they called up the local florist and confirm with me that the flowers will be delivered on the same day. I thought a big place like 1800flowers would be even better, but man was I wrong.

"I guess I just don't get it. I ordered from 1800 Flowers.com for this Valentine's Day. Sure enough, they screwed up as usual. No flowers. I had ordered on 2/2/2008 so this wasn't some last minute deal by any means. This is the SECOND time on a Valentine's Day that they have screwed up. Well this dumb rock of a man won't make that same mistake again I can assure you I have learned my lesson. The only reason I ordered from these icompetents is because my wife left one of their catalogs for me as a hint. Something had caught her eye. I cringed when I saw it was a 1-800 Flowers catalog, but I thought hey I'd give them another shot. Second chances, that's the American Way right? As ole George W once said...or tried to say anyway:
"Fool me once
Shame on you
Fool me twice
Shame on me."
I won't make this mistake again I can assure you. Not only does my wife think I'm a pathetic loser, but when they are delivered tomorrow or whenever I will look even more like a chump. How embarrassing. Gee thanks for nothing 1-800 Flowers.

"These people don't deserve to be in business. On the most important flower day of the year not only was my order delivered mostly dead, it was sent from the other side of the country so it's really no wonder. To top it all off, they're not answering their customer service line. I will never use this company again."

"Ordered a flower arrangement the morning of December 24th for same day delivery to my mother who lives in a convalescent hospital. They charged my card and showed an order confirmation.

Checking their website that evening and then on the 25th and 26th did not show a delivery confirmation. I emailed them on the 26th and received a "thank you for contacting us email" but nothing more. Did the same on the 27th and received the same email but no follow-up.

Finally called them after physically confirming the flowers had not been delivered when I visited on the 29th. Their rep put me on hold and said we missed the local florist's closing time by 5 minutes. He said he could put notes on the account that I emailed twice and that he tried to call but would only offer a refund after all I had to wait and go through.

Absolutely pathetic. This is not rocket science folks. If that Jim McCann gave a damn about his company he would fire some people and make certain that all of the unhappy listings here were resolved! For the future...can we say FTD?

"I placed an order for a bouquet with chocolates on 12/02. I asked for delivery on 12/05. The order shipped on the night of 12/04 into 12/05 and was delivered in the afternoon of 12/05. The flowers were in great condition and the chocolates were exactly what was ordered.

I have ordered multiple times from 1-800-Flowers in the past with no issues. It seems that most of the reviews here are those from people who have had success with them, but when they have a problem it is very difficult to resolve.

Luckily, so far, I haven't had any issues.

"This is what I sent to BBB to place a complaint regarding the misrepresentation of 1800flower's same-day delivery service, which was not honored.

I urge all of you who have been mislead or unhappy of their service to file a complaint with BBB at http://dc-easternpa.bbb.org/commoncomplaint.html BBB is the Better Business Bureau Foundation that has a strong tradition of providing dispute resolution services to consumers and businesses.

***It's important that we all voice our opinions on this company to change their practice. If BBB hears enough complaints from every consumer who are not satisfied with this company. something will be done.***

Here's my story...
I placed two orders on-line through 1800flowers.com for same-day delivery service to the same address. It was to be sent on Saturday 10/13/07, the day the recipients are having a birthday party. With the understanding that the delivery will be sent on 10/13/07, I went ahead and purchased the orders. That same night, I called to track the orders and spoke with a customer service rep who said it was en-route to be delivered. Saturday night went by and neither of my sisters called to confirmed they got the orders.

I then called 1800flowers again the next day (Sunday, 10/14/07), to find out the status of the orders. I spoke to a rep by the name of Mary, who checked the system and she said the order was not sent out on 10/13 Saturday, but that her system show it's en-route to be sent on 10/14 Sunday instead. I voiced my complaint to Mary and because they didn't deliver the same-day as 'promised', her manager (Patty) agreed to reimburse 50% of the purchase back for each order. I agreed to this arrangement, which I thought to be fair even though the orders will be received one day late.

On Sunday afternoon, my sisters confirmed one order did arrived and I told her to wait for the other order, which I thought was to arrive later in the day. To our surprise, the second order did not arrive on Sunday, but rather Monday (10/15), which is now two days after the 10/13 'promised same-day delivery date'.

Since the second order was not delivered until two days later, still not as promised, I tried to escalate my complaints to the Priority Team of 1800flowers. I asked that this order be fully reimbursed, but both Ms. Sharon Siskind and Ms. Debbie O'Keefe from the Priority Team refused to honor my request.

I am writing to you as a consumer who has been mislead by 1800flowers' false advertisement and promise. Please help me and other consumers out there who are experiencing this misrepresentation.

Thank you in advance for your time and assistance in this matter.

"My aunt passed away last week and as it was going to be a Jewish funeral (1-2 days after death), I was unable to attend. She was the mother of my twin cousins, so I ordered two items, one for each of their respective houses, for same-day delivery. The after-funeral reception was to take place at one cousin's house and the other cousin would be there, so I sent a gourmet gift basket to that home and a plant to the other. The plant arrived, but the gift basket did not. The driver never even attempted to deliver it, as no one heard the doorbell ring, and the family were there all afternoon and evening following the funeral. The florist couldn't even give the 1800FLOWERS customer service rep a time quote when the driver supposedly attempted delivery--"either 2 or 3," and they said everyone was home. The customer service rep tried to make amends by having the (same) florist send an upgraded gourmet basket the next day (when I called to complain about nondelivery the day before). I requested that no meat be put into the basket. We are all pretty much vegetarian, and they are not kosher, but the florist sent a basket with Viennese sausage and cheese and crackers, apart from the fruit. It is not what I asked for, and 1800FLOWERS customer service understood this. When I called back the day after delivery to report it, the customer service rep I got was not very nice at all, like the first one had been. I said I wanted to complain about the florist, and she rerouted me to empty air space on the phone, before telling me that she wasn't authorized to handle a complaint about a florist. I called back after hanging on hold for 5 minutes or more and got the same rep, I think. When I asked about a refund, she said they'd be happy to give one if the basket was picked up and returned. Big clown. The family had already eaten the fruit; I don't know what they did with the crap that they don't eat. The nasty rep (Diane) said they don't issue refunds unless the merchandise is returned. This is the first bad experience I've had with 1800FLOWERS, but it's bad enough to prevent me from ever using them again. I'm astonished at this, and I will complain to the director of customer service as a courtesy, not expecting anything to be done to ameliorate all of this, and to my credit card company to see if they can give me any satisfaction. I wouldn't be surprised if 1800FLOWERS even cheated me out of the airline mileage I'm supposed to get for placing the order with their firm. For flowers and anything else I send across the country by wire or Web, it's FTD for me, from here on in--or some other company who's even better, and greener, and not anti-Semites or lazy bums who can't leave their truck to ring a doorbell when they see 10 or 15 cars around a driveway, to make a delivery for condolences following a funeral. Viennese sausages to a Jewish, vegetarian family! Nazis?"

"Absolutely terrible experience from every aspect.
Ordered flowers 9/19 for my grandfather who was in the hospital. Plans changed and he was discharged before the flowers could be delivered. Alerted customer service the same day and provided them with recipients home address via email. Received reply stating they had sent address to the local floral shop. I gave it 24 hours and queried customer service about the status. They replied, ". . .sorry for the miscommunication. The status of your order is pending until we have received delivery confirmation. . .have opened inquiry on order and will contact you as soon as we have confirmed your order is delivered." Received call 9/21 from customer service asking AGAIN for home delivery address. Queried again about the status 24 hours later (9/22). Expressed concern about freshness of the flowers. Requested that the order be canceled or that a fresh arrangement be made. Reply stated that the flowers would be delivered the following Monday (9/24) Again asked for clarification that the arrangement would be a fresh one and not the one that had been sitting in the floral shop for five days. Received ambiguous response referencing a 7-day freshness guarantee. Flowers finally delivered late afternoon 9/24, but began to wilt almost immediately and in 36 hours petals had begun to fall off. 9/27 (7:58am) emailed customer service *asking for details of 7-day freshness guarantee.* Received form-letter apology in reply and an offer to redeliver. Replied that I'd rather have a credit, and they issued 50% without asking for input from me. I contested this, stating that the floral arrangement only lasted 21.43% of its promised 7-day life expectancy -- thought a 78.57% refund more appropriate. Replied stating that they could not issue a full credit (which I did not ask for) unless the arrangement had been picked up within seven days. I pointed out that seven days was not over yet, and that they could pick up what was left of the arrangement and issue a full credit, to which they responded simply with, "We apologize, but we cannot issue any more credit to your account." Called that afternoon to speak with a customer service manager who, after looking at the order history and the notes of various customer service representatives stated that he felt that because there were several *attempts* at delivery of quality service (even though it was not actually delivered), he felt 50% was fair and refused to credit the additional 28.57%. Passed me off in turn to his manager whom I left a voice mail for and have not heard back form to date.

"My best friends brother died and I wanted to send something nice to show her how sorry I was and how much I cared. I ordered a flower arrangement in a basket that had living plants in it also. It cost nearly $80.00. They delivered it that day and what I ordered was NOT what she recieved.
She got a 6 inch vase with carnations, mums, DAISIES and fillers. It was VERY small, something like you might pick up at a grocery store. You don't send daisies when someone dies! (pushing up daisies?)
When I called 1 800 flowers to tell them they said they were sorry and would have them re-sent the following day. They were not sent the following day so I called them again and they will now be delivered in 2 MORE days. (maybe I guess?) I wanted a refund so I could just get them somewhere else but they do not EVER give refunds. Ever. I can have a 20% discount on a future order. Haha like I am going to USE them in the future? I will never use 1800flowers.com again.

"I placed an order of roses for my mom and what arrived was browned roses in the wrong vase. They offered to replace them with another arrangement and what they sent and what I paid for were nothing alike. I have been calling their customer service department every day since this happened trying to get it resolved and no one will help me out. I am very frustrated. I took picture of both arrangements that were delivered and still cannot get anyone to acknowledge my problem. I have now reported them to my credit card company."

"I ordered some flowers for my girlfriend and had purchased a specific product with a pink piggy bank vase as I knew she liked this. 1800 flowers emailed me and said they were out of pink pigs and if a blue pig would be ok. I agreed to a blue pig and specified that if they could not locate a blue piggy bank to please cancel my order. I heard nothing and assumed everything would be fine. When the product arrived, it was NOT the product I ordered. When I contacted them and complained, I dealt with completely incompetent people. One women left me a voicemail saying that the product had been delivered and that everything was fine. Did they NOT read my email complaint? Obviously, she completely missed the point. In the end, they offered some lame discount like other posters have mentioned. I am not holding my breath for that. Even then, I am still furious with them.

I should also add that I used my fresh rewards points for this order, which was finally emailed to me after several complaints that they were late in sending it to me. When a customer rep did send it to me, it was the wrong code (since it did not work), which I found out later from another customer rep. I have purchased flowers from 1800 flowers over the last several years. Most recently, I have noticed their customer service has more or less gone down the tubes. You are more or less dealing with completely incompetant people who have no clue what they are doing. I refuse to shop at 1800 flowers.com ever again and would strongly urge everyone else to avoid them at all costs. There are a lot of other places out there that can get the job done for much better service.

"I recently had a horrible experience with 1800FLOWERS.COM. I placed a fairly large order with them for Mother's Day. One of the scheduled deliveries were several days late (almost a week) and I never received any call or indication that there was a problem. When I contacted the company about getting a refund, they refused stating that they would have to take the flowers back before that could happen (so my mother had to further suffer for their error?). When I asked to speak to a supervisor, I was told that someone would call me back. No one ever did. When I called again, they apologized and put me in touch with a floor manager who indicated that I could be offered a 20% savings pass toward a future purchase. Why would I order from this company again if they are not willing to correct this situation? After getting the number to the corporate office, I was told the same thing--except that I could instead take a 20% refund (which ends up being a little more than the shipping cost). I was subsequently told that the florist made at least two attempts to deliver the flowers and left notes (strangely enough, this was never indicated previously by the company or the florist--because it never happened!). The flowers were a surprise and the first time my mother knew of the delivery is when they arrived the following week. I got a lot of apologies and offers to call my mother, but little more. After all of that, I still only received a savings pass and NOT the 20% refund that they indicated.

Consequently, my sister ordered flowers from Overstock.com--theirs were delivered late as well, but only a couple of days late. At any rate, they gave her a full refund! I would order from them before I order from 1800FLOWERS.com again!
