First time I had another company build my computer and I was a little nervous. They were ready and knowledgeable when I called them three times while choosing the components of my computer. I was able to speak with the same gentleman each time and he was very professional. They maintained excellent communication with me throughout the ordering process and while I was waiting for the system to be built.
I compared the pricing on their website to many other known computer building companies and almost in every instance AVA Direct came back with the better price. In some cases better than just ordering the part yourself.
I live close enough to the company so I was able to pick up the computer myself. They were very professional and polite when I arrived, promptly retrieved my computer for me and I was on my way in less than 15 minutes.
I am extremely satisfied and will recommend this company to anyone I find trying to build or customize their own systems. "

"Purchased a custom designed system for photo processing. Wide selection of items, priced fairly close to what it would cost to purchase the individual components, with the added value of a warranty and tech support. The website states it takes 10 - 14 business days to prep a system for shipment, and this is the case. It took 3 weeks from order placement to receipt. It is well worth the time, as the system arrived extremely well assembled, visually attractive,and pre-tested/burned in. The order process is easy, and the sales manager (J. Mundy) is very aware of the interaction between different components, allowing correction of any potential problems before the order is placed. Good prices, excellent service, and excellent work more than compensate for the additional time it takes versus a pre-packaged system. Well worth the time and cost, highly recommended, and will be ordering from again."

"I found AVA Direct online. After a small search I found that they are one of the best PC builders out there. Here are my thoughts about the company:

The website is Direct; you don’t see a bunch of banners everywhere distracting you from choosing your parts for the new PC. That made a difference with me because all the other websites I had been to were cluttered and you just get lost.

The selection process is both comprehensive and simple at the same time, you have tons of options but at the same time you don’t get confused matching parts.

Their live help is priceless, just get on their website and start chatting with their sales rep about anything you would like to know.

During the building process they are always in contact with you, they have a very quick response time.

My machine took about 7 business days; I received it the next day after that. Their shipping is professional and your PC will be protected in the shipping box. They use double boxing, first the case box with its own protective packaging material, and another bigger box containing that box in a sea of foam peanut. Along with another small box containing all the CDs and extra wires and even screws, nothing is thrown away.

In conclusion it was a pleasure doing business with them, and wouldn’t think of other places for my future needs.

"Great company for building customized, top of the line, workstations. I was in the market for a high-end linux workstation for scientific code development, and knew exactly what I wanted. AVADirect had a huge selection of available hardware, with an incredibly flexible configuration approach, which allowed me to build exactly the machine I wanted. On top of that, the price couldn't be beat (the closest comparable Dell was twice the price, and it would have even used cheaper parts). I'm not sure how AVADirect makes money, but they're definitely a great company from a consumer viewpoint."

I was in the market for a new computer. I've assembled computers in the past but this time around, I wanted a custom built computer with a warranty for peace of mind. I had a limited budget of $700. I've been looking for several weeks and have researched and considered 25-30 computers total.

One bad trait I noticed with all Dell, HP, ibuypower,cyberpc and other e-retail stores is funneling towards more expensive configurations. They prevent the consumers from putting computers together that fit individual needs. The important upgrade options with Dell or HP for example, are either removed or extremely overpriced.

If you are an average Joe reading this review, I'll break it down: Let's say you have a limited budget. You can't afford all top shelf parts but you want to get quality where it matters the most. Nowadays, solid state drives outperform standard hard drives by an order of magnitude. Dell and all the other cookie cutters computer retailers don't allow you to to select a solid state drive for their budget configurations, they force you pay for the extremely expensive setups before they allow you to pick one of those. They do the same thing with graphic cards, processors and memory quantity as well.

The other custom shops online? They allow more customization but they charge insane amounts of money. Compared to AVADirect's configuration, some of these business wanted to to charge $100 or $150 more than the identical configuration costs on AVADirect!

Another thing to consider: AVADirect charged me $33 for shipping. Some of the competition charges in excess of $75 for shipping, for same weight/size of the package!

AVADirect shipped my computer with all the latest updates! BIOS, SSD firmware, you name it. Without these updates, I would have been looking at poor performance and component failure.

My computer was shipped with best damage protection I've ever seen. Upon arrival it worked flawlessly but a few weeks later, due to Intel's fault, a problem with the motherboard occurred.

When everything goes smooth, it's tough to evaluate the customer service and the experience of resolving my motherboard issue proved to me that I picked a winner. I received customer service that equals having your older,caring and knowledgeable brother help you out.

I highly recommend AVADirect. Say no to BestBuy, say no to Dell and fishy custom shops, go with AVADirect.

"I have owned several high end, gaming laptops - 2 Alienwares, 1 Sager and 1 CyberPowerPC. So far my Clevo P180HM from AVA Direct has been the best performing gaming laptop I have owned. What I liked most about the site was the granularity of choice when selecting components. You didn't just choose a hard drive size or the amount of RAM, for example, but the make and model of the drives or sticks for your rig. As a serious gamer, this was what impressed me the most.

Also, I found AVA Direct to be a good value when I compared them to other sites from which I was considering buying my new laptop."

"I was very impressed with AVADirect, and would certainly recommend them to others.

The order was placed on Feb. 26th and the PC was delivered on March 13th. The PC arrived well packed, and came with all the additional manuals, disks, brackets, leads and screws that came with each component. The hardware build itself was very clean, I couldn’t find anything I wanted to change about it. The OS install was clean and professional with no unnecessary utilities etc. A folder on the HDD contained the reports from the various tests that were performed post-assembly. This provides a nice baseline, and shows that the PC wasn’t just screwed together and rushed out the door.
The one question I had to customer support was handled quickly and professionally.

The worst part of the experience was that Fed-Ex listed the PC as out for delivery at 8:00am on the 13th, and it wasn’t actually delivered until 8:30pm that day. This meant that someone had to wait around all day in order to sign for the delivery, but that’s an issue with Fed-Ex rather than AVADirect, and I could have got Fed-Ex to hold the PC until I picked it up.
