"I tend to like building my own systems, but given that to upgrade my previous PC I'd need a new CPU and motherboard, and that I also wanted the ability to swap some parts to build a computer for my mother, I decided to try buying from AVA Direct.
Their site made it extremely easy for me to find the specific components I wanted and that were also compatible. I contacted customer support to make some slight changes after originally placing the order, and they were beyond helpful in this. The packaging was great, and the system ran great on arrival. I'll definitely be coming back to AVA Direct first for any future builds like this."

"Every computer I've ever owned I've built myself, however, due to the lack of availability of the 3080 series on release my upgrade for Cyberpunk 77 was majorly stalled. I decided to gamble and go for a pre-built system hoping that cards would be made available to them vs. me having to spend every waking moment trying to track one down on my own and it paid off. I did a brief internet search and came across an article about PC builders you've never heard of or some such and AVADirect was at the top of the list so I gave it a go. On visiting the site I was impressed with both the level of customization available and how it would provide warnings if any parts you were choosing were incompatible. I finally settled on my build and submitted my order. While it did take a bit for the build to come together after the review process there were obviously some mitigating factors, ie COVID-19 and depleted 3080 stock for everyone, so I wasn't terribly bothered by it. And boy was I excited when I saw the order progress change from review to assembly. The timing for delivery actually worked out great for me despite the delay as I had taken a week off for Thanksgiving and this delivered on a Sunday for an expected Tuesday delivery so yay for delivering early. The computer was packed very nicely with expanding foam to keep the CPU fan/heatsink and GPU in place during transite (the 3080 is a BIG CARD too) and it booted up without issue and brought me right to the Windows installation prompt. This also delivered prior to the CP77 release so my goals were achieved, my gamble paid off, and I've been a happy customer ever since."
"I ordered a computer a few weeks ago. I was really impressed by the amount of customization their website allows you to do. They have probably hundreds of different components to pick from, which is uncommon among prebuilt services.
I know that I might be bucking the trend here, but I really like a clean aesthetic, so I just wanted a super plain build with no tempered glass and no RGB. I wasn't able to find any other site that offered something like this. I suppose I could have built it myself, but it was just too much effort for me personally, and there wasn't anyone around me who could do it locally. I was able to customize everything exactly to my liking on AVADirect, and it was so easy.
It did take about a month to get here, which is not unreasonable given current COVID-19 concerns. I also wanted an RTX 3070 card, which they had to wait a while to receive. I'm actually not sure anyone could have done it any faster given that those cards still aren't readily available right now.
The packaging was done well. The computer was very secure inside two different boxes. They also used some expanding foam inside the computer itself to make sure nothing moved around.
The build quality was excellent. I could tell that a lot of care went into making sure that everything looked good and cable management was done properly. I didn't have any issues powering it on or getting it set up, and everything is still working great.
I'm really pleased with my purchase and glad I found AVADirect. If you want a solid prebuilt PC with lots of different options, definitely go with these guys."
"I am a gamer and needed a custom build. AVA delivered my order within 3 weeks and machine was assembled with care and quality. This is the only company which allows full customization with barebone machines. Their prices are lower than Dells and component are better. Their customer service is awesome. They are always there to pickup the phone and answer chat messages. Their techs are honest and helpful.

"Built exactly to my specifications and delivered on time. Foam packing inserts ensured nothing shifted in transit. Quality of parts is outstanding and the system is running rock solid. One issue - I’ve ordered 3 computers from this company over the last 10+ years and this happens every time: I specify that a signature be required on delivery but every time I find my $2,000 computer just sitting on my porch hours after delivery - no signature, not even a knock at the door. Have these people never heard of mail theft?"

My only issue with the ordering process was that the site listed a graphics card as available, but they did not know when they would be getting any in stock. Everything else was great. "BUYER BEWARE: AVA Direct charges customers huge cancellation fees for computers not built or shipped. I placed an order for a PC on 12/7 and attempted to cancel my order on 12/11 less than a week later. I was UNABLE to get ahold of anyone at AVA Direct; their phone lines were constantly busy, their online submission form provides no confirmation of submission/response, and their live chat put me on hold and never responded with a live agent (I have proof of this). When I finally got a human on a line after the weekend on 12/15, I was told that my PC wasn't built but that some 'parts had been allocated' and that I would be charged ~$100 to cancel an order for a PC that hasn't been built or shipped to me (and wouldn't be for months). The customer service was extremely rude, unhelpful, and threatening. I am filing a dispute with my credit card but the amount of time, energy, and effort it's taking to get $100 back when AVA Direct is the one who was unresponsive should show you how poor the customer service is. Do NOT do business with this company. I recommend customers AVOID this company and search for true reviews on AVA Direct on forums with reviews that can't be altered or paid for (Reddit, TomsHardware, etc.)."
"Nearing retirement and wanted a custom built gaming rig. Ordered one of their quiet gaming systems on 9/23/20 and received on 11/25/20. Delay was due to waiting for the RTX 3080 which was no fault of AVA's. Beautiful build and wire management, system fired up with no issues, and it is extremely quiet. “Our records indicate the customer submitted an order for a custom Gaming PC on 12/7, the request for cancellation took place on 12/14 at 2:33pm via our online message form. Our website does state response times may be delayed in light COVID-19 and the added strain on our staff.
While investigating this customer’s claims, we found they initiated a live chat with us on 12/15 at 3:39pm and spoke with our automated chatbot. As they continued to speak with the chatbot, a live agent was requested at 4:10pm – The live chat was then disconnected by the customer at 4:17pm, as he called in and spoke with a customer service representative.
Our terms and conditions state (under 7. Order Changes or Cancellation) a 10% cancellation fee applies after the point of purchasing parts; this is something that typically happens within 1-2 business days from processing payment, to which we were beyond at this point in the customer’s order. When relaying this information to the customer, the customer service representative was laughed at, and threatened with a chargeback. After putting the customer on hold, customer service agreed to waive the cancellation fee and confirmed a full refund was processed immediately, just before being hung up on.
AVADirect’s PCs are build-to-order - AVADirect does not keep tens of thousands of parts physically in stock. We purchase what is needed to fulfill complete system orders as requested. As such, cancellation fees allow AVADirect to recoup cost and time invested into processing any order which has a request for cancellation. This is a policy that we make apparent at that time of placing an order. We understand this is not always a policy that bodes well, as such we made an exception for this customer and waived the fee entirely.
Despite this customer’s grievances, we appreciated his business and consideration. We strive to learn from every experience and improve our operations as such.
