"BEWARE: You may think you are getting a good deal with your initial order but a company person calls to confirm the order and to pressure you into purchasing additional accessories. They are very good at presenting the accessories as "must need" items. My final bill increased by 40 % over the original price. My suggestion would be to request the suggested additional accessories be sent in an email to you so that you may review them outside of the pressure of the moment.
UPDATE TO INITIAL REVIEW: Okay, so the company called me back and wanted to make me more happy about my purchasing experience so they gave me a additional discount. I am impressed that they would take the time, effort, and discount offer to help alleviate my feeling of being pressured into buying. Therefore, I have upgraded my star evaluation of the experience."
"In have dealt with many NYC-based online retailers who are less than professional. My experience with AJ Richies brings "creative misrepresentation" to a new level. I ordered a Sony Alpha A55 camera with an 18-55 lens on January 3rd for $629. The website indicated t would ship in 1 to 2 days as it was in stock. I received an email 2 weeks later stating that it would be another 10 to 14 business days until the camera arrived at their warehouse. The same camera is on their website today for $649. When I called today (Feb 7th) to ask if the camera would ship anytime soon, they said "no, it is still back ordered." Then they said "but, if you want the US version with the Sony warranty and better battery we can ship it today. It costs $749." There is nothing on the website to indicate this. It is clearly a scam. Too bad the Postmaster general does not have time to go after slimebuckets like this outfit. Good luck if you want to risk buying from these guys!"
"I had a good experience. Michael who called me did a wonderful job. The only issue I had was when I got of the phone I felt like I had been upsaled a little too much. I did however purchase other items so he did his job correctly. I would just make sure you are completely confident it what you want to order and what it needs to run."
"I had researched my purchase (digital SLR Canon) for many months off and on....when I put it back on the front burner and was ready to make the buy...Aj came up big time...knowing what I wanted helped....but the fella who answered the phone (Micheal) had additional knowledge and advice that wasn't meant to push a purchase but to truly let me get more enjoyment out of the product...that is priceless....also having the best prices in my catagory didn't hurt either...I haven't received it yet....but was notified in a timely manner that its on its way....so if you don't hear back from me until my next buy....those of you reading this have found the place you're looking for...."
"Underhanded Scammers. They sell higher ticket items at lower prices and then try to overcharge customers on simple accessories to make up the difference and some.
If you don't by the overpriced accessories the merchandise is indefinitely backordered.

"Great prices, but they sell items they do not have and when asked have no information when they might have them. Purchased January 12, called several times they do not have the item and was repeatedly told that there is no information when item will be available. Waited over 3 weeks, no new information and cancelled order to purchase it elsewhere. Customer service is very polite, but there is no service.
Company has been in communication with me and have been sincerely apologetic for the delays. I am changing my overall score for they are acknowledging and trying to compensate for the errors on their end. In retrospect, I would urge to call regarding product availability"

We dont make a ton of money me being a student and my dad being a disabled vet. i found an awesome deal for the camera i wanted ajrichies.com more than 30 dollars cheaper than the next cheapest competitor. now there accesories are a little pricey but they have to turn a profit in order to survive. i got the upsell call and read all the reviews for probably an hour which just served to put fear in me but i kept my faith and still have it. order placed 02/01/2012 order shipped 02/02/2012 and will review again when my camera arrives. so far very pleased with ajrichies.com and just remember TANSTAAFL(look it up)..."
"Pricing was the best I could find. Customer service was less than satisfactory. A billing issue took 8 days to get resolved and each time I called the rep would say "yes it is going out today". So I got that response about 6 times before it was even shipped. Not the best experience ordering online."

"Order was placed on 10/12 but shipped on 1/25 due to item being on backorder so it's hard to tell if it was Ajrichies' fault for the delay. I do not really understand though that an online store can sell an item it knows it doesn't have without advertising it's out of stock. "I waited over a month for a camera from them. I called them several times asking them about my order, often, their phone systems were down. Eventually I just canceled my order and bought the camera from a company that fulfilled my order in less than a week.
AJRichies didn't even process my order until they had a chance to call me and try to sell me things. The first time they called I said no to the sales pitch and then the phone hung up. I tried to call back but couldn't. I had to call them on my own to listen to the sales pitch again so that they would process my order.
They don't carry cameras in stock either. After waiting two weeks for them to do anything, they sent me an email to inform me that they had ordered the camera to their warehouse.
