"I recently purchased an Alienware M17 Notebook. I purchase computers and computer products for companies so I have literally purchased hundreds of computers if not more.

This was my first purchase with Alienware and it was a personal purchase. I was terrifically surprised by the process and how well it worked. I didn't make a single phone call, from setup of financing to order completion. Now this is usually where the communications stop in a typical order, but I received regular status updates through the entire process up to the point it left the Alienware facility. That status update listed my tracking numbers and the shipping was just as promised on the date of the order.

Now, the equipment arrived packaged very well, and the system was unblemished, just like it was supposed to be. This system is unbeleivable as to the capabilities it has. I hardly use my desktop anymore, the laptop runs everything better.

I will definitely be back for more equipment as I need it.

Just to make a small comment on pricing, these systems, from my perspective, can not be compared to anything I have ever used or purchased before. The configurations are "Extreme" and the hardware appears to be in a class by itself. I would say you definietly get what you pay for, and perhaps more. But these high end systems are not what you would buy just to go to college, these are engineering, high end gaming, and any thing else that takes a lot of computing horse power.

Once again, I will definietly be back for more, was very impressed with the equipment and the order process."

"First time customer, ordered the M17 laptop, no problems with the delivery, the unit works perfect out of the box (should have upgraded the processor though thats my fault) and have been using it ever since. Works great and runs everything I do from games to high end design drafting software. Would not hesitate to order again."

"Completely happy with my online purchase of an M17X laptop. This thing flies in any game I've thrown at it. I also had an issue with the lit keyboard not being lit. Call tech support and got immediate help and resolution (needed some tutoring on the Alienware effects). I would and will go to Alienware for my future computer needs. "

"Obviously Alienware has some of the best gaming systems out there. I have both a MX17 and a ALX desktop. My MX17x purchase was disappointing to say the least. 1 day after receiving my new laptop the laptops miraculously went on sale...and if you've been to the site recently, they went down significantly. I called and talked with a customer service rep - he told me there was nothing that he could do. In fact, he told me he couldn't do anything for me because it was against the law - he said"It's against the law for me to discount your past order because you have already paid for it"...are you kidding me.

When you spend a ton of money on a system like this and see the price drop 2,000 dollar after you receive it - thats a bummer. He told me I could return my laptop if I wasn't happy with it.
That's not a solution - that's an employee that doesn't care about a customer doing future business with this company. He told me if you want to get the system at that price - you'll just have to order another one and return the one you have - OH and here's the kicker, he told me that I would then be charged an additional 15% for re-stocking. Then it got worse, He said - it's not his problem and that it's just marketing, he said again, it's against the law for him to help me. So, Mr / Mrs. Alienware how stupid do you think you're customers are?

I have written a couple of times to the sales department and they refuse to respond.

I highly caution you from buying one of these systems until you know for sure you have the best price. The last insult I was given before getting off the phone was : I asked the "customer service" rep if they knew about this promotion when I ordered my laptop. He said yes. Can you believe that?! I said to him, why...seriously, would you let me spend all of this money and right in front of you - you have a memo saying that tomorrow you're discounting the same system I was buying today and NOT TELL ME TO WAIT 1 DAY.

...and on top of it not to offer any kind of reconciliation?! I asked for a manager and he said they would tell me the same thing. I gave up. I am a SVP of sales in a New York firm, I know the difference between a good deal and a bad one. The bad ones leave a horrible taste in your mouth long after the purchase. If you haven't guessed by now, the experience I've had with Alienware so far - has been way below what I would have initially guessed. "

"I love my Alienware. I broke it in by playing Crysis with no lag time. This is probably the best computer I have ever owned. My only complaint is that the optical drive was a little hard to find - Shift + F8 - would have been nice to know how to open it without having to search for it for twenty minutes. Other than that, the battery life is awesome, and the internet speed is amazing. The CPUs are great too and everything works fine."

"I have bought two Alienware systems, many years ago, a desktop, and just recently, a new laptop. I have never regretted using them, as they consistently provide products that perform as well or better than similar systems by other providers. A friend brought a slightly more powerful system through Dell recently, but she found it to be worse than my alienware, simply because Dell had overlooked the neccessity of providing proper cooling- while her clunky hog overheats, my Alienware remains in peak performance and outperforms hers, because, as a company founded on the idea of making fantastic gamer rigs, they know best how to make gorgeous, and gorgeously functional machines. I only wish I had more money to throw at them, frankly."
