"We paid for expidited shipping and our order was late. Now usually this is a Hassel because I was expected to be at home for the 8 hour delivery time period. Except they called me to tell me thy it was going to be late and they sent me an email. The next day I called and asked for a refund for the expidited shipping and they gave it to me with no attitude. "Bottom line is this unit is promoted as being able to heat as a heat pump down to 24 degrees before switching over to heat strips. I called Amana for warranty service 3 days after I installed the unit thinking something was wrong since all it did was run off the heat strips. Tech tells me that the heat pump for heating switches to heat strip at 45 degrees. Amana specs sheets say heat pump works down to 24 degrees.
My average temp in my area is 47 in December and January and it was 47 yesterday.... no heat pump. What a joke this unit is. I emailed both Amana and Alpine with no response from either.

page 5, 7, 9, 10 state 24 degrees for electric heat with heat pump for those models. the model I ordered is on page 13 and note 5 says 24 degrees.

I've called a half dozen times for technical service and have spoken to someone quickly and they have answered my questions and/or resolved my issue each time. I'm satisfied.
