"Ordered a motherboard and ended up getting it a month later inside a dirty crumbled box that looked like it had traveled around the world in. No bubble wrap, nothing. Thankfully, it worked fine even though it looked like a gorilla had tossed it around.

Here's my story with Amamax for those interested:

About a week after I made the order they realized they had mistakingly sent the motherboard somewhere else and then called it back. At that point, any good company would have immediately sent the customer a new board from stock and just wait for the 1st board to return to the store but Amamax thought I should do the waiting on behalf of their mistake. I found all this out on the 3rd week when I called and the board had just returned from its round trip and they were getting ready to send me the same board again. I didn't complain, just asked if they could do some kind of priority now or give me some credit for the $11 in shipping that I paid. Their answer: NO. I guess they didn't mind losing another customer.

"I had messed up during my online order, I called in to correct this. I actually got a real live person that fixed the problem immediately. This did not slow down my order at all. I got the product in less time than expected, excellent packaging, package was flawless."

"Quick service = happy customer. Ordered a Noblesse computer case on July 6 and it arrived July 15 by standard ground shipping. Package arrived intact and unharmed. Only drawback to this company is high shipping rates. If it wasn't for that, I would probably buy from them again."

"I ordered 100 cd/r from them. Product arrived but cdrom burner would not recognize any of them. Checked burner with a new set of disks that I bought from Staples and burner worked fine. Tested original set on another machine (different burner as well), and disks still didn't work.

Contacted company and they told me that I could return disks to them, but that i would have to pay for shipping. Shipping cost more that the price of the disks! company refused to work with me to settle dispute.

Won't ever consider them for any further purchases.

"Excellent! I purchased a DVD ROM in January. The price was right. It came as expected on time. It failed in Late June. I filled out a RMA request on-line and shipped it back on Jun21. I received a replacement (actually a better one) on July 2. 11 days! I expected, at worse a hassle and at best a delay. I got only fast, good service. I am a permanent customer!"

"They calimed they were selling a new name brand atx transformer for a $4 plus $10 shipping. It turned out to be $4 plus $12.46 shipping. Then to top it all off I got a generic transformer that was clearly in house referbished."

"I had a very good experience with Amamax.com. I ordered a Noblesse case and a silver Compaq keyboard from them. Shipping was about right for a 30 lb. case, $20 (UPS Ground Express). It all arrived exactly one week after placing the order, when I thought it would arrive. Everything was perfect; no scratches or dents or any cosmetic damage. I'm still waiting on the rest of the computer, though. My only complaint is that it only has 3 5.25" external bays instead of 4, like the sites advertise. Doesn't bother me too much, but I'm sure it would some people. The way everything was packaged is as follows: I open the box up and I can see a small box containing the keyboard on top of a bigger box, what looks like the retail box for the case. The keyboard is in perfect condition, well-packaged with plenty of bubble wrap, and the case was in styrofoam in the retail box. I must say, Amamax sure had fun with packaging the hardware inside; I found the two case fans hidden under some slots, the screws in little bags hidden behind the door, etc. All in all, they packaged everything well.

I have had a great experience with Amamax.com. They must realize that a good first impression will mean repeat business, because it surely does with me.

P.S. Shipping is a bit high, but they make up for it with low prices, so it evens out to a great price.

"Simple order of a Noblesse case. Ordered case on Thurs, had order at my business on Tues. Regardless of problems I read about here, thought I'd give 'em a chance. No problem here.

As an aside, I DO wish they would provide order confirmation through email, as once I placed the order I never heard from anyone. Was ready to call and gripe that I had not recieved anything to track my order or even confirm that they had received my order when it was suddenly at my doorstep. I also fine it odd that they don't provide tracking info since they provide links to FedEx and UPS shipping tracking on their site...links that are completely worthless since no info is provided.

Regardless, all went well and I might do business again, but with the pressure for me to get parts in a timely manner, I sometimes need to track an order so I can inform a customer when his system may be ready. Although the time factor here was a non-issue, the inability to queue my work according to tracking info provided by the vendor is a serious drawback.

"i had a very good experiience from this company. I ordered an ATX midtower w/300W PSU from them that was advertised on pricewatch for $4!!! It was originally $23 with a $19 off coupon. shipping was a little steep, $24, but for a computer case that weighs 28 lbs that seems average. the only bad experience i had with them was the customer svc rep I spoke with to confirm it was in stock. While trying to find the exact part I was asking about he gave me an attitude. I told him i could give him the exact part # he stated ver batim "I'll never find it with that!!" real nasty like. I work customer svc and i would never say anything like that to a customer. Oh well. Anyways he did find out that it was in stock and i ordered it online. 5 days later the package shows up at my door and it was in perfect condition. The packaging could use a little work, it was double boxed but there was only 2 small pieces of styrofoam to separate the 2 boxes. I've heard of better packaging from other companies but they will never have a case for $4!!! Even a $28 case(which was my total spening on everything) is hard to find that comes with a 300W ATX power supply!!! I feel like I just got over on the man!!! If I find another deal I will definitely order from them again."

"I bought an Inno3D GeForce3 Ti200 card. I had read some good and bad comments about them before, so I called ahead of time to make sure my item was in stock. The sales rep was very friendly on the phone, which put my mind at ease a little.

BE WARNED.... Amamax has some great prices on hardware, however their shipping charges are OUTRAGEOUS! My Ti200 OEM card was about $18.50 ground shipped from Texas to California. :( Pretty rediculous if you ask me. It turned a good deal into a mediocre one, and that was their cheapest shipping option. The card did arrive as scheduled though and packaged well. Overall my first experience with them is a good one, but please do be aware of their high shipping charges before you buy.

"I did not go through with the order but I wanted to say that they charge $10 over advertised price on two cases I tried to order (approx $32 per case for the cheapest ground shipping when they clearly advertised $22). They also failed to honor their advertised price on pricewatch. I checked the cost on 3 day air shipping and it was $92 which is upsurd for a case even with power supply. Therefore I canceled my order and went elsewhere."
