Ah yes, what do they say about Amazon.com, the most consumer-centric store? Well, that has not been my experience. I purchased an item in their Gold Box deal with other items and they charged me FULL price for the GB item. After THREE different CSR who struggled with the English language I was finally granted a refund for they amount overcharged, and with that, it took days to receive (they're scoring big time keeping people's money and making interest.)
I have had consistent problems with the balances of VOD, mp3 downloads, and gift cards changing although I've not used them. I contacted Customer Service AGAIN and they credited the amounts to my account but I'll tell you, for being the 'most consumer-centric', working with Amazon is a hell of a lot of work.
I have had two faulty mp3 players purchased in December and the first one, although new in packaging, sure seemed like a refurb or used prior. It is a pain to have to mail them back to Amazon, I thought this was supposed to be simple!
I think their prices are pretty good and I've always heard such good things about them, but that is not my experience and I cannot/will not recommend them.

"Amazon pricing policies suck. I bought iPod Touch from them during their Black Friday sale just to find out that two weeks later they lowered the price by $15. I tried contacting their customer support reps, but they were rude and unhelpful. I've been their local customer since 1996. I guess now that Amazon ran most B&M stores out of business they can start treating their customers like crap. How are they better than Walmart? At least Walmart will give you a price adjustment withing 90 days. Their customer service is in India and all the people I spoke to are idiots."

Online reviews had alerted me to this problem, and I patiently waited while this vendor promised to fill my order in due course. Unfortunately, the frother which I receive is not what I ordered, and does not work. It is useless. The company offered to refund the cost of my order, but not the postage. I agreed, to get this problem behind me, but I am not happy. This is not a good outcome. I have a useless frother, and still have paid shipping costs that have not been refunded. I'm not willing to fight this further- but if someone wants to take the time to pick up this useless frother, I'd be glad to deliver it, and to ask for my money back, in full. I waited for 2-3 months, after first being told the item was on back order-- this was not a good outcome."
