"Just six months ago, I joined Amazon Prime's membership program. I thought that it would be a bit cool to try out free expedited shipping for a month. The fact that I could order something and expect it in less than 2 days appealed to me as a last minute person ... anything that needed to appear last minute, Amazon could and would deliver. So, I continued my membership after the trial ended.
Amazon Prime is both a blessing and not a blessing. I'm not usually the person who shops online, if much at all. However, because of the convenience of the Amazon's Prime program, I have ordered *ALOT* more from on-line stores ... no wait, not stores, but the one and ONLY store, Amazon. It's like Amazon has become my main supplier ... every cent I earn goes back in to Amazon's pocket. In that sense, Amazon Prime is one genius of a program.
Since joining Amazon Prime, I have ordered a total of 30+ items from Amazon. Every order has arrived in two days or less - next day if I paid the extra surcharge of $4. Amazon Prime is FAST. Within just minutes of ordering an item, the item goes into processing (meaning you can't change your order ... Amazon's efficiency traps you into committing to the order) and is shipped out within a few hours.
One catch though. I have noticed that with Amazon Prime's two day service, they rarely ship items out with premium shipping. Usually, it's through UPS Ground. It seems that if it comes out of the warehouse in Kansas/Indiana, and you live in the midwest, they drive it to the nearest UPS ground hub, to ensure that UPS delivers it next day via ground ... the cheapest way ensure 2 day service. Only when you pay an extra $4 Amazon will pay for actual UPS Next Day Air Saver or Fedex Priority Overnight shipping. It doesn't bug me too much, because I still get my things on time, though I hear terrible stories about how ground delivery service treats parcels and packages (plenty of Youtube videos are online with UPS guys smashing/throwing packages onto the ground).
Fortunately, Amazon always packages its items very well. The box itself is sturdy and Amazon stuffs enough air pouches into the box that the product itself won't move around. Beyond protective packaging, it's just the package itself -- very barebones. Some retailers like to attach advertisements and other literature about their stores - Amazon does not do this. I like that about them.
I've returned several products so far, and it's really seamless. You can go online and order a return, and a shipping label is automatically produced (if you want) after a short questionnaire. If Aamzon or the product is at fault, Amazon pays for shipping, and if you don't like the product, well, that's your fault you ordered it, so you incur shipping costs. I think that this is a fair system. Amazon processes returns quickly, usually within a few hours of receipt of the product... another example of Amazon's efficiency at work. The only problem is customer service -- it's based overseas so the agents are sometimes difficult to understand, but that's hardly a problem since you rarely find a reason to contact them.
As much as I hate how Amazon sucks every penny out of my pocket (due to the fact that their efficiency rocks and they have such great pricing and product selection), I find little reason to hate Amazon... in fact, I don't at all. I highly recommend them and their Amazon Prime program. They have become my #1 store of choice."

"I've "shopped" Amazon for a very wide variety of products for some 7 years now -- both "New" and "Used" categories -- to the tune of maybe two dozen purchases entailing perhaps twice that number of individual items. I have literally never found a "lower price" for a/any comparable item at ANY other online vendor ... which is saying quite a lot, as I am employed (full-time) by Wal-Mart and so receive an "employee discount" on my WMT purchases. "Selection" variety & range is GIGANTIC, "price" is extraordinarily competitive, "delivery" is surprisingly fast with OR without Super-Saver, and matters of "Return" and "Credit" are amazingly Stress-less!! If you've not yet tried Amazon.com, I invite you to "shop-with-confidence"! -- and be at ease!! In my estimation, there doesn't exist a better online vendor to either "shop" or "comparison shop" ANYWHERE online for "whatever" you're looking for/at. In fact, WHENEVER I encounter anything-of-interest ONLINE, my very next click is a "right(y)" for a "new tab" straight to www.amazon.com! And guess what?! ..."

"We are an FBA seller. Amazon has merged items and ships the wrong products to our customers. After learning of the error a week ago, and speaking with Amazon on a daily bases, we receive no resolution. Asked if Amazon will compensate us for the cost incurred, Amazon has said that they will not. Both the seller and the customer experience suffers. As a large corporation, Amazon is able to dictate unreasonable terms. Buyers should shop elsewhere so that this does not become the norm."

"What can one add to all the other reviews except to say me too. With rare exceptions Amazon is invariably the best source for whatever you are looking for that they sell. When the item is sold or fulfilled by Amazon you can be sure that it will be sent quickly and well packaged. If you have Amazon Prime as i do, Amazon service goes from great to unbelievable. i ave ordered items at 5:30 pm and received them the next day at no extra charge. i have used next day service and even the same day local express service with never a problem. There may be on occasion sellers that are cheaper on Ebay or some website that you've never heard of but it usually isn't worth the risk of dealing with an unknown seller. Even when these other sellers actually provide the goods they are often so slow that you've forgotten what you ordered by the time it arrives. Amazon storefront sellers are another matter and i have had mixed experiences buying from them but Amazon always took steps to resolve problems when necessary. Returns couldn't be easier: u can return anything bought from Amazon for any reason within the stated return period (usually 30 days)"
