"Amazon used to be the first store I shopped at but no more! I ordered a computer program from them and TWO DAYS later the price was reduced by $18.50. I hadn't even received it, so I called them and requested a refund for the difference so that I could get the better price. They refused me stating that in order for me to get a refund for the difference, It would have to be for $20 or more! I couldn't believe what I was hearing so I asked to speak to a manager. He told me the same thing!! When the Postal service tried to drop off the package, I refused delivery. I then went online and ordered it again at the sale price, saving myself $18.50!!! If they had just given it to me for the reduced price, they wouldn't have had to pay to ship the first one back to themselves. Amazon USED to care about it's customers, but in my opinion, that's a thing of the past."

"I am posting this email because I am so disgusted with Amazon's Customer Service and I want everyone to know how terribly the handled my business.

Dear Amazon,

I am not emailing looking for an answer to my complaints because I received one yesterday by phone, I am emailing because I am so disappointed with your service and I wanted you to know how disappointing it is that you do this to your customers. I am a “here and there” shopper, if I see an item listed for a good price, I’ll buy it. However, since it is the holidays and I am a college student, I need some cash for Christmas Shopping. I have a ton of DVD’s stacked up in my room so I figure, listing them on Amazon can’t do any harm, so I set up a seller account and list them on your website. I figure if they are selling for say $3.00, I will list them at $2.99, and so on. I did not think that they were going to sell at all so I had no expectations going into it. Then, almost instantly, my inbox was flooded with emails saying that some of my DVD’s were sold. I was so happy and instantly bought shipping accessories and packaged them and shipped them off to their destinations, I even made sure each DVD had a tracking number so as to satisfy the customer 100% and I would know when the packages got to their destinations safely. I was so happy that everything was selling and I was getting extra cash, but the shipping charges were very expensive, overall I probably spent $65.00 on shipping in a 3-day period. However, since the buyer pays for shipping and Amazon reimburses me, I figure that’s ok. Then, I go to look at my balance when this is all done, I am expecting about $120.00 profit, and I see that my balance, including shipping, is $112.00. I was shocked, I couldn’t believe that it was so low. Then I saw the Amazon fees, I was being charged up to $3.00 for a DVD that only sold for roughly $2 or $3! I figured that there must be some kind of mistake, so I called and talked to customer service. They explained to me that all of the fees were disclosed, and I made my mistake in not realizing that the prices that Amazon lists for the DVD’s selling price is including shipping. Also Amazon charges a 15% Commission Fee even though I was selling DVD’s as low as 80 cents. Well this is what I have to say to Amazon, that was a shady process. I imagine that tons of people a day make the same mistake that I do, and Amazon told me that if I list anything under or around $3, I will be losing money. If you were a great website that cared about your customers and not just about the customers who sell over 40 items in a month and do not get charged the 99 cent listing fee, you would give a warning right away to any customer who is listing anything for under $3.00. I am positive that no one on the site would list anything so low if they knew they were going to lose money. You can imagine how upset I was when I was not warned about this before, and told when it was too late, not only that, but Amazon could not do anything to help me. I am disgusted with the way Amazon handles business with customers like me, and never again will I make the mistake of listing my products on Amazon, whether it is under $3.00 or not, because Amazon does not care about its customers. I will make sure to spread the word on websites where customers look before posting items so that they do not make the same mistake that I did, you can be sure of that. One minute I am so grateful to Amazon because I am thinking that I will have over $100 in my pocket so that I can buy presents for my family, and then the next I am told that Amazon took half of that in “fees”. It really is the biggest disappointment you can give to a customer. As I said, I am not looking for any answers from you, I am simply letting you know that you get a 0% for customer service in my book and others will be informed so that no one will lose money to your website because you charge absurd fees for items that are only $1.00.

"I've bought from Amazon many times for many years, and have never had a problem. I have noticed, though, that prices can vary GREATLY from day to day. I've seen a $20 item increase to $30 in one day. That type of thing happens a lot. It's easy to follow, if you put your items in your cart or in your saved items. You will be notified of any price changes every time you check your cart. Sometimes it changes a lot, other times by a few cents, and sometimes not at all."

"They were misled information about the no interest for 12 months, and I end up have to pay the interest. Their customer service department is most the time I can barely understand. I purchased the camera Nikon D3X, priced $7500.00 and their customer service representative told me, yes my amazon.com (chase) credit card would apply for this camera with 12 months no interest. A month later I received the Chase Credit Card statement said I do not have 0% interest for this purchase. I called amazon's reprentative and they said they are sorry and wouldn't help any further. "

"I have purchased many, many items from Amazon.com over the span of about 5 years and have never had any problems. If there was a problem with the order customer service is always very helpful. Returns are easy and shipping is free over $25. The prices are not always the lowest, but they are pretty close.

"I've recently ordered quite a bit from Amazon for Christmas presents. I have had several experiences and all of them reflect well on Amazon. One order was delayed by a couple of days, but Amazon sent me an e-mail informing me of this and informing me of the new expected ship-date. They actually sent it before that date.

I also had to return an item recently because the product was faulty. Amazon makes this incredibly easy. I logged on, printed a return sheet and taped it to the package and gave it to the postman. I didn't pay to ship it back and Amazon credited me for the item when they received it.

Finally, my most recent order was flawless. Fast shipping, low prices and excellent customer service bring me back to Amazon time and time again.

"I've ordered from Amazon.com dozens of times. I generally have excellent results. I like the fact that they'll ship my order in groups to get it to me faster and don't charge me anything extra. I always order at least $25 worth of items so shipping is always free.

My only complaint is they grossly overcharge sellers that sell items in their Marketplace. For instance, I listed a used book for $2.19 and later found out Amazon charged me $2.67 in fees when I sold it. That's crazy! For inexpensive items it's as if I'm paying Amazon so I can sell it.

"Excellent! Like the way you can shop online and compare prices. Like that you can get new or used items. Very fast service great communication. Had a problem with a DVD a while back that was sent back and new received immediately! This last order arrived sooner then the estimate another great thing! Packaged very well! "I never have any problems when ordering from Amazon. The prices are great and they have pretty much everything. I have the Prime shipping so shipping is always fast (sometimes the next day).
