"One of the best shopping store online and their product have great qualities too... Usually people who have a problem with amazon are those orders from the marketplace... Look at the reviews of the product your trying to get from the bottom of the page... People would usually inform you about the seller in there before you decide to buy. Other people would have a problem contacting customer service just click on Help they have there 1800 number in there don't click call me because the people answering your calls are outsourced usually from asia and you will have a little bit of a hard time understanding each other."
"Their web site is easy to navigate and search, and offers extensive product descriptions. Service is excellent and most orders are shipped fairly promptly. Items received were accurately described and priced, and they offer the BEST (that I know of) Return/Exchange policy.

"i have used amazon for several years now and they have evolved considerably. Despite the fact that their business model revolves around the customer and that they strive to have every customer completly satisfied, it's amazing on here how their ratings is only average.
they do offer quite a bit and do sell at relatively good prices. But i have to add the down side is they're missing part of the equation. they're service although fast, is really impersonal, indifferent, and at times, apathetic. Many times their responses are short, don't resolve the issue at hand, sometimes don't even address the issue. They're solve all is, "here's a refund".
which i really can't argue against, but at some point, i still want want what i originally ordered, even though i have my money back. i guess it just leaves the ball in my court and i have to go and solve the problem by re-ordering again with the money i got back. But it just would have been nice if they took the effort to read the email and resolve my issues.
Overall, they are much better than most of the online retailers, yahoo, eBay, etc. But Most of the time if it's something straight foward, i prefer to purchase at walmart or target, despite walmart's poor service.
Besides no one beats walmart's prices. :-) You get what you pay for and if the price is cheap enough, it doesn't come with service. But they're very good at getting you exactly what you ordered and on time. :-) Fast and cheap! "
"I've always been happy with Amazon, for a company as large and diverse as they are, they've always done a good job. Since moving to Japan 5.5 years ago, I've appreciated them even more. I've ordered from both B&N and Amazon.com, and I highly prefer the prices, speed, (international) shipping costs, selection and service of Amazon.com."
" Beware clicking on any offers for Amazon.com credit as they are providing your information to other credit card companies. I have been a long time Amazon.com customer. Even if I'm looking at an item on another site I look to see if Amazon.com has it for less before I buy.
Recently I clicked on a link on one of their product pages offering $25 off your next purchase by applying for an Amazon.com credit card. I looked it over and decided to apply. I was still on Amazon.com's website when I filled out the application. It was supposed to take 30 seconds for approval, but after that time it told me they would contact me. I just assumed I had been turned down, though I didn't know why as my credit score is over 700.
Several weeks after applying I received a call. The caller stated they were with Amazon.com and asked if I still wanted the credit card I had applied for. I told them yes and they processed it for me at that time. When I received the card it was an Amazon.com Store Card and indicated that it was actually a different company, GEMoney.com. I didn't think much about it as I believed they were just processing the credit purchases for Amazon.com. It even indicated that Amazon.com would automatically switch my default payment method to this new card, which they did.
When I received my first bill I noticed that I didn't receive a $25 credit on my first purchase. I made several calls and eventually was told by a GEMoney.com representative that this was a different card, I had an Amazon.com Store Card and the $25 off first purchase was only for an Amazon.com Visa card, so I was told I wasn't eligible for the $25 off promotion. That didn't sound right so I called Amazon.com and spoke to a customer service representative who would only identify himself as Ace.
I was on the phone for nearly an hour, much of it on hold, before he finally told me the same thing, I had a different card than the one I had applied for. I was shocked that they would provide my customer information to other companies to solicit credit card applications, but it got worse. He told me they have three different Amazon credit cards and if I understood him correctly they provided my information to at least those three other companies. I received a rash of pre-approved credit offers at about the same time I was called about the Amazon.com card so I really don't know to what extent the private information I provided them with was shared with other companies but it does worry me.
I think it is just horrible that they would provide my personal information to other companies after I clicked a link to apply for thier card and filled out the application on their site. To allow another company to call me and represent itself as Amazon.com when it isn't is simply fraud. It is a simple bait and switch, they offer a $25 off your first purchase promotion to obtain the needed information for a credit card application and then provide that information to other companies. At no point was I told I wouldn't receive $25 off my first purchase.
I've been a customer of Amazon.com for a long time, but I'm really going to have to give some thought before making any more purchases. I have already deleted the Amazon.com Store Card as my default method of payment and I won't be using it again. "
"I ordered a product from amazon.com and it arrived in horrible quality and looked to be used. I called up amazon and tried to speak to someone, and waited about 45 minutes to get through to a real person! Their customer service sucks, and they could not even resolve my issue. They told me that it was from a third party that just posted products on their website, and that I could not go through amazon to get my money back but had to go directly through this third party! Thats great, represent products that you guys cannot even gaurantee will happen, even though you have your A to Z gaurantees posted on your website, I hope everyone checks their fine print."
"I've ordered many things from Amazon in the past and after my latest purchase figured I should give them a review.
I ordered a dril/impact driver kit that was the lowest price around (15-20% lower than elsewhere not to mention no tax) and as a free bonus came with a bit tip holder. I chose super saver shipping.
I received confirmation of the order right away (19th) and the next day, notice that the drill kit had shipped without the free bonus. I received the combo on the 22nd. Two days later I received the free bonus.
I was amazed with how fast they turned around my order and how fast it arrived considering I chose the super saver option. Also, I've ordered many other things from them and the only time I had a problem they took care of it (I actually ended up getting the item for free with the credit they gave to my account). So overall, Amazon is one of the places I feel can trust (although I've heard some horror stories about the marketplace.)"
"Placed order on their website, then received an email confirmation shortly afterwards. I received my order within a week without any problems.
I've purchased from Amazon multiple times and have been very happy overall. Unlike other resellers, they do not call you to confirm the order so they can try to sell you more things. If you know what you want, the ordering process is very simple and quick.
In addition, they offer a price protection guarantee which I have taken advantage of multiple times. If you find that they sell the product for less than what you bought it for (within 30 days), you can simply contact them via their website and get the difference refunded to you. No calls necessary."
"I am very disapointed in Amazon customer service. It is near impossible to actually speak to someone.
I was shipped an order 3 months late. Because the order came so late I had already purchased the books. When I was told I could use the return lables and be refunded the shipping cost, I did so but was never refunded the shipping costs. I attempted to contact customer service by phone but their phone lines do not pick up or redirect you to some automated service without an option to actually speak to someone. I tried numerous times and was never able to settle the issue. I have been so frustrated with their lack of contactability that I gave up.
It is now a year later and I just signed up for this rating.com thing and thought I would finally vent about this to someone since Amazon.com doesn't provide their oun reviews. "
"I LOVE AMAZON! Their website is easy to navigate, they sell everything under the sun and/or have links to someone who does. Books are always less than at any other store or website, including books on CD. Returns are painless, even when they goof, which they recently did for me. I returned a book which was a paperback, but it was in new condition and I never even opened the cover. They automatically gave only 50% of original cost by virtue of it being a paperback, but when I contacted them in protest, they corrected it to 100% of purchase price. I just got through ordering a TV series on DVD, a turntable/USB converter (for $100 less than the same thing at Brookstone), and I have frequently pre-ordered items yet to be released. I especially like how they recently improved the website to alert you to the fact you may have already ordered something. In the past I accidentally ordered things two or three times not realizing I had preordered before release date."
"AMAZON.COM is terrific. They are definitely the largest online retailer. However, their recently started to charge NY sales tax. Nevertheless, their products (provided they are sold by AMAZON.COM and not an Amazon Marketplace seller) are always new and genuine. Will definitely continue to buy from AMAZON.COM as I've been doing since AMAZON.COM opened."
"Once again Amazon provides a great service. Good prices, good retailers"
"Amazon had a sweet deal on an Evga GTX260 video card thru TigerDirect. Did not think that it was somewhat suspicious since I do not know how much these cards normally run. It turns out that between Amazon and TigerDirect there was a database error and the price that was advertised at Amazon corresponds to a different item at Tigerdirect. I had my order eventually cancelled by Amazon because they said that "Order cancelled by merchant". I think, (IMHO) Amazon should've handled this a lot better and to think that there was not a mention of an apology from them and acting like they didn't know about the whole thing. I am a Prime member so I guess that will not last long and this should be my last time shopping with them."
"Never had a problem. Huge selection. Great prices, especially on used books. There's a reason they are so big. Highly recommended."
"UPDATE: Previously reviewed in September and up to that point, I had all great experiences. I recently ordered a space heater on 11/10 and received on 11/13 so no problem there. However, the packaging was the worst I've ever received from any retailer. Cheap tape was used and not enough of it. Box was not completly sealed (and not from normal shipping and handling either). The manufacturer's box itself had a gash like it was dropped but heater was not damaged. All the inserts were thrown in and the packaging was not taped as expected as if it had been returned to Amazon but I plugged it in and it worked great. The price dropped the day I received it so I emailed CS for refund. They said they stopped 30-day price matching in 9/08 and I could refuse delivery or return it and repurchase. Too much trouble for 5 bucks. Up until this purchase, I would give Amazon 2 big thumbs up..order with complete confidence. I can understand the price matching policy ( reducing # of day would be better such as within 5 days) but what the heck are they shipping? I will use them less often for future purchases and one more half-%#@&^ shipping job and I'm done.
