"Amazon.com has been around for years, but I have never done any business with them until recently. I was in the market for an mp3 player and Amazon had the one I was searching for at the cheapest price I could find (I searched) and it came also with FREE shipping (WOW!!), so I tried them out and I couldn't be more happy with the overall experience. The only thing to complain about was the tracking system from USPS which really doesn't have anything to due with Amazon, but that reflects back on Amazon as they offer tracking through there system on your packages bought with them. I could never track the package with the tracking number provided, but it arrived quickly and intact. I will surely due business with Amazon.com again when I need a purchase.

Update Aug 2009. Ordered chainsaw that came without the chainbar. Amazon immediately placed a new order for a whole new saw, no cost to me and shipped overnight. Again, superb service and customer response.

I continue to be amazed that this company values it's customer so highly and still remains profitable. "Ordered an Olympus camera card on February 5th. Received immediate and comprehensive confirmation. The next day, Feb 6th, I received notification that the card had been shipped. In all that time I can recall only one or two errors on their part, each of which was fixed promptly and professionally. Amazon simply sets the gold standard for internet commerce. "A logitech cordless laser mouse is my latest in a long line of amazon purchases. I've been an extremely happy customer since 1999 and I feel especially bad thwir stock is taking a hit because of their buyer friendly policies especially shipping. Their free shipping is a great deal and the amazon prime membership is really worth it if you have a high volume of orders. Over these years I have bought several items from amazon from computer peripherals, video games, trade paperbacks, dvds , books , cds and other miscellaneous household items. Their deals are usually great, prices may not always be the lowest but hey, that's where you have to decide where to buy from.
Customer service even by email has always been prompt and exhustive even answering complex queries and their tie up with other stores as well as special coupon offer promos make them an all time online favorite to shop at.
The sad thing is usually those with a grouse post but its important to show support for a store you like and I'm doing my little bit here. Amazon is simply great and you always know what you will get, they display prices for items shipping from them and at times, lower prices from partners too.
Shipping is always prompt, there is no ambiguity in their policies and customer service is prompt and courteous to a fault. When I started out, I used to shop at buy.com too and look at them now. Kudos to amazon for maintaining their high standards through the years. They will always be one my first stops on my net shopping jaunts."
"I have been happy with Amazon for many years, using them often to buy books, CDs, toys, video games, and computer stuff. I recently had a problem - a gift certificate I bought for my wife turned out not to be valid for the mechandise she found on Amazon that she wanted (because it was sold by Nordstrom).
Although I could have found the restriction in the "fine print", I thought that it was reasonable to get a refund. Of course, the fine print prohibits that too. However after a phone call and about four emails, I made contact with a support person who understood the situation and was willing and able to do something about it. Mistakes happen, and this one was obviously partly my fault.
I am happy that we reached a mutually acceptable resolution - because I want to continue enjoying the convenience of shopping at Amazon."
