Very bad way to track the order

"After I placed the order, I took a screenshot of my receipt and on that, it just showed the receipt #, no order #. I don't remember which email I used for that order and their system kicked me out of my account after the order was placed.
I waited for 5 days even though the prime said 2 day shipping, no item delivered to my house, I called in and gave them the receipt #. They said the receipt # was no use to look up the order. Then why didn't they give out the order # instead of receipt # after I placed the order. They gave the receipt # and it could not be used to find orders or account or anything. This was a very stupid way to handle a business. A normal store still has a way to look up an order by a receipt while Amazon gave a receipt and no way to look for the order by a receipt. I had to wait until the order come to my house (not yet) and if not, I would lose my money without having an item shipped to my house even though they gave me a receipt for my order.

Do NOT pre-order from Amazon!

"I pre-ordered a game (FFXIV SB) from Amazon and should have received my bonus codes from them via email. The codes never came and when I contacted customer service (about six times through email, chat, and phone) they told me to wait and they would send the codes. After waiting, asking, and waiting, the pre-order promotion timed out and they refused to send me my codes.
When I asked Amazon about this they refused to answer any questions and hung up on me. Again, do NOT buy from Amazon if your product/ game comes with promotion codes. Amazon is fine if everything happens without a hitch, but the moment something goes wrong they will not help you.

Buying Experience

"Been buying from them for a while its not that bad it kinda ok, the only reservation we have is the order process and shipping after is delirous 2 day prime becomes 4 day as they dont ship as no inventory with no updates and then as we have business account they deliver here after 6pm and leave the items on our front door its very dumb to do that as the items have been over $500 and over in many instances. Need to get this addressed"

Disappointed Loyal Customer

"So many reviewers here are so correct. I would love to respond individually, but this app doesn't allow for that. I've been with Amazon for well over a decade and the customer service is now next to non-existent. Bezos IMHO is way too focused on new acquisitions and drone delivery. Basic shipping & delivery has gotten out-of-hand horrible with no recourse when they make a mistake. They 'planted' a package in my garden, for example, where everyone could see it from the road or from my walkway, but not from my front porch. They also just mis-delivered someone else's package to my door (that had my address pasted over theirs. Why? Who knows.). I just want to help them out and let them know. But since I have no order number, I can't reach anyone! And, yes, when finally someone responded to my email (and it took me forever to figure out how to get a message to them), they called from overseas and didn't understand anything i was saying. They assumed I'd been sent a gift from someone else - after talking with them for over 15 minutes. Now, how much more of MY time should I continue to waste trying to help them out!! ?? Methinks no more... I'm done."

One bad purchase changes everything

"I have been using Amazon for years and have been a loyal customer. All that changed this week. I left my laptop charger at a hotel and when I got home and realized it I immediately ordered a new one from Amazon with 1 day shipping. Once it arrived, I plugged it into my laptop and immediately the laptop began smoking and died. I quickly unplugged it but the damage was done. The charger blew up my laptop. Long story short, repair shop said too much damage, have to replace. Upon testing the charger from Amazon, it revealed why all the damage. The polarity was reversed of what it was supposed to be even though the polarity diagram on the charger was correct. The charger had been manufactured incorrectly and my $1000 laptop paid the price. Now all my work, all my data may be lost.

The worst part? AMAZON DOES NOT STAY BEHIND THE PRODUCTS IT SELLS. That's right. You buy a clearly defective product and it burns up your laptop... not their problem. They told me to talk to the manufacturer.

Sorry, but that's not how it works. If I sell a product, I have a responsibility to make sure it doesn't burn someone's house down... not pass the buck.

We'll see if the court system agrees with me that Amazon should be held accountable for the products they sell. If they do, this will cost them a lot more than replacing my laptop. :(

Still the best after 20 years

"I don't understand all these people complaining about trivial issues not related to getting great products at low prices with good guarantees which is what Amazon's main business is.

I've been buying stuff on Amazon since it started in the mid-90s and have got nothing but excellent service low prices easy returns and 800 number that I can call anytime of day and get satisfaction for. It is very rare to get anything that is not as described in working condition and in rare cases where shipment is broken or some other thing they are always giving me a new item at no cost or just refunding me the money no questions asked.

Everything comes from a Chinese store

" I cannot believe that almost everything I order takes several weeks and when it arrives I can tell that it has come from some business or factory directly out of China. I'm so sick of it. And the stuff That does come directly from Amazon, half the time you can tell that it's been used or worn and returned. Gross. "

Amazon - by far the worst vender experience in 25 years of business

"First, as a buyer I love Amazon. As a seller I have often felt like I would like to engage in activities that would put me on federal watchlist. My first problem was when the sales of one of my items increased over 1,000 percent for 2 weeks after a politician made a comment. I thought I had hit the jackpot as I had a huge inventory of the perfect product for the situation. Out of the blue for an undisclosed reason Amazon sent us an email that they were suspending our seller privileges and they were going to withhold payment to us for an undisclosed period of time. I tried to contact Amazon seller support to get further information, but sellers are not permitted to speak to anyone with any authority or who had any explanations. They did demand that we ship all orders immediately (with no assurance of payment). Since our shipping system was external we were faced with the decision to rush hire and pay temp workers, upfront shipping and send very costly inventory without any assurance of payment much less timely payment. It took me several days and a weekend before I could get any answer from Amazon. Ultimately, we chose to ship the orders and hope for the best, but the orders shipped 3 calendar days beyond of our shipping window. Our account remained suspended and I was advised that I order to get paid quickly we must file an admission of guilt and a "plan of action" to avoid the matter. My initial submitted contained the required information, but it was denied due to our explanation of the difficulty with seller support. STRIKE ONE. We eventually were reinstated and we were paid two months later. Our second problem arose out of Amazon's determination that our description being inconsistent the condition "new". Specifically, our discription contained the phrase "items may have minor variations or dents, buyer must carefully inspect each item to determine if the item is suitable for use in the proposed application." This statement is and was in fact true for any new or used items of this type due to the many ways the product could be used. We were again suspended. Our explanation to seller support was rejected without explanation or comment, and we were advised no further information would be provided (sent from a no-reply email address). We again submitted a "plan of action" which made no since given the circumstance, and we were reinstated. STRIKE TWO. Lastly we made a mistake when we did not meet our shipping window by 3 business days. STRIKE THREE, WE'RE OUT. No doubt part of the problem was that the items we were selling were subject to political influence, but they were well clear of any of Amazon prohibited list. I once had a discussion with one of their supervisors, who apparently has very little mastery of the dictionary or the English language. After the third strike we (corporately and personally) remained in the long term suspension list. A few months latter I helped an unrelated company set up an Amazon account. I was not and I have never been an employee, officer director or owner of that company. When I was setting it up, I made the mistake of using my personal laptop which I did not use for business. Amazon closed their account within 2 hours and perminantly suspended my privlages. I filed an appeal but I remain suspended 2 years later. To make matters worse, I keep getting demand emails from Amazon of policy violations. Notably, a link is provided to resolve the issue, but since my account is closed I can not log in and address them. I've called and emailed around 20 times over the last 2 years where each time they tell me everything is resolved and I'll get a confirmation email. I get the email about 50% of the time. Incidentally, my seller rating was and is 4.6/5.0. I think that's pretty good for being treated like a convicted felon and being perminsntly suspended. I recently sold my website and trade name and the new owners spent the better part of a month getting set up with Amazon. The whole thing put me in a bad light, and it likely will impact my ability collect payments from them. In summary, Amazon is great if you are a buyer, but as a seller it's easy to get caught in their web. As an Amazon seller, I could never be right, logic and written policies to my benefit were ignored and I was never able to speak to a decision maker. I just received another violation and demand notice today. It's been 2 years after I had an active account on Amazon. I called seller support but after 45 minutes on hold I simply gave up. I'm now in a completely new business where Amazon exposure would be useful, but if I could do business with them I probably would not. Though I managed to make money after their extraordinarily high fees, it's simply not worth the hassle. It's too bad I love them so much as a buyer. It's a real shame that they co from so much of the market share. This story is not unique. I've heard several other competent businesses. The consistent message is BEWARE OF AMAZON AS A SELLER.

They need to pick good shipping companies!

"Ordered from Amazon Prime, delivery was scheduled for 2nd of June. I receive an email on the 1st saying there was an attempt to deliver; they left a location for a pick up that's far from my location which defies the whole purpose. I call and demand a delivery, and they say after 3 days. I requested a call or an email before the delivery with the expected time. On the said day, I call their customer service, and I'm told that they can't locate my package, call again tomorrow. Instead, I called Amazon, and after being on hold for a very very long time I'm told that it will be delivered the next day, It was already 5 pm, so I left. At 5:25 I get a call from my buzzer from a rude guy, I tell him that I'm not home and he can leave it in front of my apartment. I rush home to find a paper saying "we missed you" and again with a location for a pick up that is far from my place. They expect to deliver at any time and any day, and we be there waiting for them? Then say "we missed you". I still didn't get my package, but at this point, I'm done with the calls, holds, and rudeness, but what to do. Worst service ever from both Amazon and Purolator. I wish I can give a negative rating to express my frustration. I already unsubscribed from Amazon Prime, what else can I do? "

Do not use if seller is Amazon.com LLC

"I received the wrong item. The seller was Amazon.com LLC. There is no phone number or email for them on this site that I could find. So I filled out the form to return the item. But now to reorder the item, it costs much more than it did. I finally found a number to call when I googled it. I tried to see if I could get the item at the same price, since it was their fault the wrong item was sent. I was then told the item is no longer available. I will never order from the Amazon.com LLC seller again! Very poor communication. "

They're Going Downhill Fast

"I've been using Amazon for years as both a buyer and a seller. Over the last couple of years their shipping has gotten worst and worse and so has their customer service.

The last few items I've ordered from Amazon (not from 3rd party sellers) have been terribly packaged and arrived defective. Amazon does take returns, but shipping it back is a huge hassle and nobody ever bothers to apologize for wasting my time when they send me a broken item. There is nobody held responsible and there's no way to contact them directly if I want to ask for them to package a delicate item more appropriately.

On top of the broken items and extra slow shipping, I've recently been locked out of my account because of security issues that they will not clarify. I've called their customer service- and they've been incredibly useless, namely because they're outsourced overseas. Nobody will tell me why I can't get into my account. They tell me they don't know and another department will handle it. I asked to speak to that department and they said that they would contact me within 48 hours. It's been over a week and I've heard nothing back. I've written and called them repeatedly, to no avail. If I didn't have a gift card balance, I'd likely just forget about my account and be done with them.

Amazon is a soulless corporation that is responsible for the loss of countless jobs. Saving two or three dollars just isn't worth dealing with them. Support somebody that has a face and cares about their customers instead.

Return made easy

"I ordered (2) Coleman QuickPump 4D Battery Pumps but only needed (1). Amazon provided me a return label, which I had to pay for, but they refunded me in full as soon as the UPS man picked the item up from my house. They didn't even wait until they had the unit back. I liked that but think it might be something that people could abuse. Anyway, it was nice that they made my error so easy to remedy."

Becoming Disenchanted

"I have been an enthusiastic Amazon shopper for years, I purchase almost everything from them. Recently I have been disappointed in Amazon. Since the advent of Prime membership it seems they have no regard for their regular customers. Shipping is slower, items are delayed, and back ordered. In the past month I've had about 5 items no longer available and they cancelled the orders! What fresh new Hell is this? Now we list items for sale, but don't really have them? Are they giving those items to Prime members? Is Amazon getting too big for its britches? Another interesting thing--they say that if you see a charge of one of these items--to contact them, but they delete your order--as if you never ordered it!! it isn't even listed under cancellations. -so there is no way to check the amount they would charge. If you are a major purchaser this makes it nearly impossible to check up and verify a charge that is incorrect! I don't know what the problem is...but my loyalty is waning--fast."
