"I purchased a new Control Board Assembly and installed it in my GE Model No, WBVH5300KOWW Washer and had the same problem I see a loot of people having which is Programming your new Control Board.
When I received my new controller I to had problems programming the controller because it did not start up with the 3 dashes the programming instructions tell you will appear when you power the controller up and I to was a bit confused as to how to program the new controller but I figured this confusion out and I think this will help a lot of you out and get your new controller to program for your Model washer.
If you install you new controller and when it is powered up it does now show the 3 --- as per the Procedure Programming Instructions all is not lost. There are 2 ways to program these controllers and like I said if the 3 ---'s do not appear when the controller is energized then you will have to resort to the next step.
Appliance Parts Pro's will email you several sheets that are for Service Technicians Only and from this paperwork you can access the controller and choose you Model Washer and install the Proper Operating Software for your Model Washing Machine.
Once I followed the instructions the controller programed and my machine worked perfectly."
